I've never really been to shop like this so i never knew what to expect. everyone in there is so loving and full of help and their willing to take time to educate me on the different stones they carry. I got my aura photography taken there i was intrigued . I've learned so much from going to the chakra shack. Every time Ive gone in there, It feels so peaceful and you feel at ease. Michelle and Jill have been so helpful and my friends all feel the same way. I recently took their pendulum class and I learned so much. Incredibly cute store, but the items are indeed expensive. I purchased a book since books at Barnes & Noble are priced the same. If you are interested in learning more about Buddhism or Hinduism, I would suggest actually visiting one of the local temples to begin, or just going online to study it more. However, the owner/manager was very nice. She also has a cute Pekinese dog that licks your fingers when you bend down to pet it. So 4 stars! read more

Very limited selection. The staff were not so friendly and a little on the negative side. It is more like a "new agey " gift store rather than a true occult bookshop like in the tradition of the fabulous stores which are Alexandria 2 in Pasadena or the Psychic Eye in Sherman Oaks. Who doesn't let a paying customer use their bathroom? Chackra Shack and nobody else I know!!! Maybe it was our bad luck but we had the most unpleasant encounter with the person behind the cashier today. A friend and I drove all the way from LA for a reading. We were told to have a seat since our reader hasn't arrived yet. When we asked to use the bathroom, we were shown the sign "NO PUBLIC BATHROOMS". She didn't seem to agree we're not public but paying customers. When the reader arrived & started the session she noticed the discomfort. So she sneaked us into the bathroom so that we can relax. The reader herself was amazing. We'd love to see her again. But we won't go back to an establishment who'll charge us $120 but won't offer the simple courtesy of using their facilities. read more

Although the women at the front desk are nice the readers at least the 6 that I have gone through are not gifted. The one that stands out most to me is Grace. Grace did not read my aura instead she asked a bunch of questions and gave me her opinions. That is not reading that's asking questions. At one point she looked off into the distance as if she was "picking something up" it looked so fake and dramatic. Every single one of the 6 readers I have tried ask a lot of questions...they dont tell you anything you dont already know. Those of you who have had readings here ask yourself "were you pleased because of the advice they gave you which sounded intuitive but when you think about the entire session most of what they told you was based off of information you gave them." Some of them are good at reading body cues and rely on guess work. Save your money and seek a good licensed therapist if you want guidance or see the counselors at your church. We including me shouldn't be consulting with psychics anyway because the Bible strictlty forbids it. read more

Though I don't live near Laguna (about 45 mins away) I love making trips down to the beach, and the chakra shack is always a priority stop. I've been in a hand full of times. I have not had a reading nor an aura photo because I simply have no need for readings. My main reason for this store is the raw and tumbled crystals but it seems like it's always the same things when I go it would be nice to see some new crystals. I've never had a problem with the customer service until today. The girls at the front didn't miss a word of their conversation to greet us, nor did they offer any assistance. When I asked for a pen (because you have to write your own product numbers down) I was just stared at for a moment until she gestured at the one on the clipboard and handed it to me. Had to ask for a receipt as well. Hopefully the auras and vibes are better next time. Plus be ready to park on the street. read more

At first glance this shop seems very zen and spiritual, but with a closer look it becomes apparent that it tells a much different story. I can't speak for the readers because I did not have a reading. The sales associate was nice but didn't look up from their phone after a quick hello. The items available for purchase look cheap and are very over priced, a quick google search of the brands they carry reveal they're shipped from some warehouse in the midwest making the products non authentic and stale. They have an 'aura reading' machine which, again, with the help of google search is a knock off of the legitimate Kirlian photography photos. I suspect that you pay for an expensive taking of your temperature. The best part of this visit had to be the entertainment provided by the 'owner'. She came storming in like a whirlwind through the back entrance and was in an obvious manic- or more so psychotic- state of mind. She was speaking incoherently to the sales associate about what, I couldn't make out, but it seemed to make her sales associate quite uncomfortable. If this woman really is the owner I can see how her bad energy trickles down into the store. I had high hopes for this place, it seemed like it could be a gem on the pacific. If you need help resolving a dilemma, go see Michelle!! She's the most genuine, wise, comforting, authentic psychic I have ever had the pleasure of doing a reading with. I really trusted the answers she gave me, and with her you know she's not just giving you the good news. Not to mention, she is a powerful healer, so even if you go just for a reading, you will come out feeling healed! I have gotten many different readings done over the years and the reading I had here unfortunately was not the best. It was generic and clearly made up. I wouldn't go back to get a reading. But otherwise the shop is very interesting and has a lot of good products, everyone there is kind. read more

I've had readings done here before. Most of the time it's just a guessing game with the psychics, but at least I did leave happy with what they had to tell me. I recently had a sound healing session here. I must say that I was quite disappointed. I left the store completely dissatisfied, but I didn't act like it so I could write this review without them knowing who it was. The sound healing was a bunch of baloney!!! The girl (I think her name was Stacy) that did my healing was very fake. Her energy was very negative and it felt as if she was making it up as she was going on. Her demeanor is very phoney and she pretends to care, but behind the closed door she was distant and acted annoyed. She has no formal training and I did pick up on the fact that she used some pagan junk in the sound healing, which made me feel uneasy. She uses her voice and quite frankly she sounds like a sheep gone mad. Her bio says she is a voice teacher, but from what I've heard, she cannot sing to save her life. Her voice is NOT soothing at ALL. I really wish I could have spent my money on another healer instead of her. Do not waste your money on her. If you see a short, fat, lady with long frizzy red hair, RUN the other way and come back on a day when she isn't there. I think I may try another healer and will post another review. LeeAnn is great for readings...she's quite accurate. Great selection of rocks and oils. If they can weed out the great ones from the fakes, then this place would be a perfect haven. I've been to the Chakra Shack several times and it's always great to see what they have available. I decided to give Reiki a try, something I hadn't done before. I was amazed at the difference I felt afterwards. Patrice's hands felt hot as she moved them over me. She also introduced me to aroma therapy and that was also very calming and helped to alleviate stress. I am very pleased with the experience and hope I can go back again soon. read more

I thought I would check out chakra shack on yelp because I friend of mine and I were talking about her recent bad experience there. Let me start off by saying that I used to love this store. But the new manager Michelle (that's right, she is NOT the owner) is rude and cold. I know who the owner is, her name is Jill and she is very sweet, but she hasn't been around. It used to be in another location that I liked better and I liked the people better, friendly and welcoming. The store itself has some nice merchandise and the readers are great, but the vibe of the store with this new manager just isn't the same. Also, I read some of the reviews that are in the 'filtered' section and they sound like they share my experience. I wish it was under new management, or I knew the owner's # so I could tell her what's up but for now I will go to the other spiritual stores around. read more

I typically love shops like this but found this one disappointing. First of all, the crystal prices were much more inflated than is standard. Pieces of kyanite for $2.50 we're just a few centimeters long where I found pieces in San Juan Capistrano that were about 4 inches long for the same price. I came to this shop interested in hearing about aura color readings, and was open to paying for one. The shopkeeper was unable to explain to me how the aura is read other than repeating the word "vibrations" over and over without explaining how they are measured or what kind of vibrations coincide to which colors. I watched another person get their aura read and the after the photo was taken, the computer program scanned through several preset filters before choosing a seemingly random color. The color came with a very basic and simplified printout of traits associated with the aura color which did not seem to be worth the money and did not require and expertise or "reading" in any way. The shop also featured a binder full of tarot decks that were not even available for purchase. All in all a very disappointing experience, would not recommend compared to other new agey shops in the area. read more

I absolutely love the chakra shack, it's a stop I make whenever I'm in Laguna. Today I stopped by the new location, which is beautiful, but I have to say the way I was greeted was not. I walked in with my boyfriend to two unpleasant women who barely even greeted me and were not personable at all...even though my boyfriend and I were literally the only two people in the store. They spent the majority of the time that I was there talking about how they could create a better "flow" in the store and how the energy affects customers, while completely ignoring my presence. I found this interesting because it seems to me that if they're so concerned with creating a positive experience for their customers, maybe they'd attempt to actually pay attention to them. I love this little store and I'll always go back, but I definitely hope I go while different people are staffed. Or maybe when the "flow" is a little more personable and a little less alienating. read more
