That alone makes the ~800 rent sounds like a bargain during the long winter time. In building washer & dryer shared by 4 units only. Everything is included except electricity and I pay for dedicated cable internet service. Amazingly easy and quick access to Pittsford Plaza, Henrietta Plaza, Market Place mall, Twelve Corners. You can choose from 4 different Wegmans within 8 minutes driving. It is a quiet neighborhood. Too quiet that sometimes you just want to add some white noise. Good management team (esp. Diana) and very efficient in getting things fixed. During winter time the snow shoveling is always done in a timely manner for the morning drive. Neighbors are mostly nice and friendly. No college kids around my building. Easy access to the Erie Canal Heritage Trail. In summer this area is comparatively drier than other areas. Cons - The building is almost reaching 50-year-old and with staying on the first floor you'll hear the footsteps from upstairs pretty well(and the units in the attached building second floor if there are kids). It isn't too much of an issue if you live on the second floor or if your upstairs neighbor(s) is considerate. Even had left over trash and random junk left over from the previous tenants scattered around. The amenities are NOT as advertised, the pool is NEVER open especially on extremely nice days because the lifeguards apparently never wanna come to work. I have seen several times families come down to the pool, arms filled with stuff to lay out for the day and enjoy what we thought we were paying for, just to see that it was closed for the day or that the lifeguard shift ends at 2pm on a weekend. Can you imagine the disappointment those kids felt? It's unreal and it's been that way for the last few years we were there. The gym is completely laughable and every year the place has new managment and every year it seems to get worst. I am so glade we decided to leave.

However, by the 15th I will have moved out. That is because Cornerstone Management has announced plans to totally rebuild every one of these 206 apartments starting in January 2019. A similar building wide renovation was performed here back in 2003. Believe me it was a never ending nightmare. Also, of the two elevators, only one will be available November through May, while the other is newly replaced. During that time, there could be NO elevator for days at a time. That's because these old elevators fail sometimes weekly, and their repair has taken up to two weeks when replacement parts had to be ordered. Cornerstone's plan is to rebuild 10 apartments at a time. They say the work will require each resident to vacate their apartments for six days. My feeling is that the work will take much longer than six days. Cornerstone is, however, offering to place residents at a hotel for as long as it takes for the work to complete. Unfortunately, because even five star hotels have bed bugs, there is a very good chance residents will return to Cedarwood carrying bed bugs, thereby worsening the current bed bug problem here. It appears Cornerstone believes remodeling the apartments is more a priority than first doing a building wide bed bug extermination. Residents can also stay with friends or family if they prefer. Residents may also opt to wait out the six days in vacant apartments here if any are available. At this writing, Cornerstone is not offering to pay for storage of our personal property. Management tells me it will all have to be moved to the center of the apartment to allow space for the work crew to work. Many residents I've spoken with are uneasy about leaving their personal property behind while they have to vacate their apartments. There is a finished one bedroom apartment here on display. You'll find it is not very spacious. Many here are focused only on enjoying their newly finished apartment. They have no idea of the extreme inconvenience they will undergo. As I recall, it took about two months to complete just the display apartment. As I say, I've been through this in 2003. Never again. I'm outta here.

Things became heated after Cornerstone VP Robin Rubato repeatedly dodged our questions of concern. One resident shouted, "You're full of sh*t!" THE TRASH ROOMS on each floor have not been emptied and cleaned since Cornerstone took over. They are piled to the ceilings and the they STINK! This is happening because Cornerstone has instructed its maintenance crew to focus on the upkeep of the outdoor grounds. Furthermore, the elevators, hallways and common indoor areas have not been cleaned since the takeover. Imagine, cornerstone's first priority here was to declare that an open, unsheltered area out by the Main Street bus stop is to be the sole smoking area on the entire premises. Smokers can no longer smoke sitting on the benches under the canopy. Major apartment renovations begin in October, just in time to ruin our holidays. New kitchens, new bathrooms, new floors--just what are we supposed to do with our furniture and belongings? Where will it all go to make room for the work and who will move it there and back? I personally went through a similar renovation here in 2003. It was an eight month long nightmare. As for the "14 million" Cornerstone proposes to invest in Cedarwood Towers, I don't want to start a rumor but it is my feeling that Cornerstone will break from Section 8 / HUD and convert Cedarwood into upscale housing. They're even planning on building a security, card-entry barrier around the entire property, according to VP Rubato during the meeting.

I've been a guest here many times and the modestly priced 1 or 2 bedroom apartments are very spacious, perfectly furnished with kitchens, pristinely immaculate and are of tremendous value. There are many chain malls and restaurants within a few miles and a fantastic staff 24/7 which also help to make your stay both convenient and relaxing. Adding to Avalon Suites abundance of amentities the complex is very private and quiet with many of the units having wooded vistas making for the perfect getaway. I absolutely love Avalon Suites for its "home away from home feeling: therefore I am confident in giving it my 5 star recommendation.

When my mother moved into the Legacy at Clover Blossom, it was a wonderful place to be. Everything…read morewas clean, events were proper, and the food was delicious. As time went by, the entire place diminished. Now, when you walked down the halls, there are signs everywhere for pee or feces that have been in the floor from dogs or people. The entire place smells like feces. People are allowed to move in who cannot take care of themselves, which should not happen. This is a place for men and women who simply need a place to stay that CAN take care of themselves. It is NOT an Assisted Living Facility. The meals slowly fell from actual meals to merely bits of things put together to fake a meal. The residents are served food with mold on it, sandwiches once they run out of dinner food, and portions you would give a 4 year-old. They run through 'cooks' so fast that random people have to cook whatever they get their hands on. They run out of food and have to run to a grocery store just to make a meal. When she moved in, they had great events to invite the family to enjoy. There was a fall event with games, little prizes, crafts, and treats. It was a very family-friendly environment. Now, they spend most of their money on all the events for pride month. Massive decorations, parties, and shows. Perhaps that money should go toward food instead of these things? Along with all of that, there a bed bugs, mice and roaches everywhere, all the time. They do not care about residents who get them from neighbors or the cost it causes to take care of getting rid of them in your own apartment. They have filthy people living there, and do not care how that affects the rest of the people who just want a clean, peaceful place to live. There was a wonderful indoor pool, years ago. Slowly, they stopped taking care of it. It became dirty, closed often because the chemicals weren't managed, and maintenance didn't clean it. Then it was closed after an inspection that found mold in the room and water. An amenity that people specifically chose that place for, is closed a ton. They don't care. It's just saving them money while they charge people the same amount of money. The rent goes up 6-10% with the lease, and some people do not have the capability to move out. They have to stay. Their Social Security does not come anywhere close to rising that amount. Again, they don't care. And with that money, nothing improves. It just goes downhill. The place is disgusting, full of employees that care about nothing other than their own paycheck, and run by a company that only cares about themselves. I wouldn't advise anyone to live here. If possible, I would ask every family who is taking care of someone in this facility, please consider moving them out. Hopefully, if enough of us step up, the place will improve and go back to a place where senior citizens are safe, protected and treated well.
