Lenora goat cheese- tasty but didn't wow- also a lot of rind
Sarah A.

Every time I visit Chatham I must stop at this cheese shop and get some cheese to enjoy during my stay on the Cape. This week I picked up some of their Lenora goat cheese and the Fromager aux Herbes. The Fromager aux Herbes was a huge hit! Buttery and creamy with delightful herbs throughout the cheese. It went fast! The Lenora is tasty, but didn't quite have the same wow factor. When I stopped in, I was the only person in the store and was quickly greeted and served. They also have a selection of cheese accompaniments including jams, crackers, crostini, olives, etc. Convenient parking in the back of the store and cute outdoor seating at picnic tables outside. Always worth a visit! The only criticism I have is that the hours are not exactly ideal for me in that they close Sundays at 5. I wish they closed a little later to give me more time to spend in Chatham before heading home with my cheese.

Lurv the presentation, 3 wines and 5 cheeses flight.

So cheezy!!! Cheese and wine pairing at the Chatham Cheese Company. Another Chatham experience to add to my Cape Cod adventure. Included was; wonderful service from Susana, 3 wine tastings (white, prosecco and chianti) and 5 cheeses). Perfect rainy day activity. They also have an extensive variety of cheeses by the pound, lots of wines, savory and sweet treats and refrigerated goodies too. Indoor and outdoor seating, as well. Chin, Chin!!!

Cheese and Wine tasting area

If you are coming to Cape Cod, this is a must! The store has so many interesting options that are incredibly fantastic for both wine and cheese. My girlfriend and I did a cheese and wine tasting and all of the pairings were great. The best part of our experience was getting to meet Michael. Not only did he walk us through the tasting extremely well, giving us details into what we were having and where they were from, but he gave us so much insight into the area. Michael went above and beyond to give us recommendations for other spots throughout Chatham and Cape Cod. Cannot express enough how great Michael was and how he helped us get our trip off on the right foot!

What... a... sandwich!

We tried the Caprese and the Italiano sandwiches. Really excellent. Extremely high quality cheeses and meats. And the bread - a French baguette - was the topper that made it a truly superb sandwich. Wow! I really want to come back again.

Awesome cheese and wine tasting layout

The cheese and wine tasting was amazing. Ben chose three wines, fresh baguette and a board of cheese, fruit, jam and meat that was perfectly paired. He explained the wine and each cheese in detail so we could understand the flavors and pairings. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon and liked the wines and cheese so much we brought some home.

Loved this place so much we twice drove an hour each way to purchase cheeses during our one week stay on the Cape.

Too humble to gloat for themselves, the yield from this Dennis land is some of the finest (and award-winningest) vegetation on the Cape. And in this bright green, columned shop near Chatham Lighthouse, is the spot to load up on all the crops the farm has to offer. Bibb lettuce to root vegetables, begonias to string beans - whatever's popping up from the well-tilled earth is being sold from these shelves. Oddly, there's also a toy corner, trinkets and baubles for touristy purchases (my shirt has a lighthouse on it!) and a side room serving as a local art gallery. Peculiar? A bit. Unique? Perhaps. Contributive towards the homey vibe? Definitely.* Just like the farm, the retail location is staffed by folks with special needs (mainly students from nearby Chatham High). Unlike the farm, this piece is air conditioned. Give it a peek - your soul (and your stomach) will thank you for it. ---- *After a bit of research, it seems the building in which the storefront resides was an old art gallery. The owners of said gallery have allowed Cape Abilities to operate rent-free for what's now the second continuous season. Warm fuzzies abound!

First, they are an everything artisan food store: sandwiches to be made or pre-made to-go, a fine wine collection (caveat emptor - they tend to store the finer wines vertically - a major wine faux paus), fine artisan pasta, organic bakery, and a very nice British-style candy offering. Secondly, in the wine room off to the side they have a table and chairs where you can sit and sip your coffee. No bathroom. Only one table. With four chairs. My only complaint, well, not really a complaint per se, an observation. In my empirical experience, the lady who runs the cash register seemingly watches you, as though you are going to shoplift. It's a little uncomfortable, as we are Harvard educated yuppies, dressed right out of the Preppy Handbook, and we don't present ourselves in a sketchy or shifty manner. It's ok, ma'am, that little inconvenience is worth your offerings a couple of times a year. It's Jarvesville, not Twin Peaks.
