Despite its name the real gem of this place is coffee. Hot or cold you can enjoy a myriad of delicious coffee flavors with an array of milk or non milk options. There is also tea and hot chocolate. They also have cold brew to go. Muffins or bagels for a quick bite. They have flatbreads and other interesting snacks. It is my favorite coffee place in the Five towns. Oh and the cheeses are eclectic and yummy. But don't come Saturday because they are kosher and Shomar Shabbat. read more

I ordered what was advertised as a Tuna Pesto Panini for pick-up on their website. The panini cost $14, but I was charged $18.63 after tax, fees, and an automatic $1.40 tip. Upon arrival, staff appeared perplexed that an online order was placed. I then waited for several minutes as they scrambled to get my order ready. When I picked up my To Go bag I noticed immediately that it felt very light for what I had ordered. Once in my car I took a bite of the sandwich. No tuna... just a light spread of pesto and a meager sprinkling of cheese. I went back into the store and asked for Tuna Pesto panini. They seemed confused that this was an option. Upon comparison with their in store menu, their website menu appears to have errors. Anyways... they took my order back. I guess I was wrong to assume that I would have a new sandwich made. They dissembled the "panini" and threw some tuna in the middle. Weird... gross. Will not be back. read more

I actually love this place for the coffee and it seems many other reviewers do as well. I found them on uber eats because occasionally I use uber eats to have coffee delivered to work. Am I the only one who does that? Both times I've chosen to get coffee from the cheese store I've loved it. They actually called me both times because they didn't have something I asked for but what they gave me in place of what they didn't have was just so tasty and great. The flavors I've tried are incredibly amazing. Maybe one day I'll actually get the cheese but the cheese store has my heart for the coffee. read more

How is this establishment not more heavily reviewed? The cheese store is famous in the Five Towns and fills a very specific niche. The hype surrounding this place is for the iced coffee. They do not mess around and it serves them well. They're popular because they have so many flavors to choose from (almost 100.....). Although, many flavors taste too similar to be considered different. Also, the hot coffee is underrated and good as well! People seem to come here exclusively for iced coffee but they have a couple hot flavors as well. (Disclaimer: they do not do espresso drinks) This is by no means the best coffee I've ever had but it's still okay! Obviously, they sell a lot of cheese as well (many are Kosher!) but I've only gotten manchego a handful of times. They always dice this cheese which is strange because manchego is really supposed to be sliced. But I am just being a snob now so w/e. In addition to the iced coffee and cheese, they have a large assortment of specialty foods covering every inch of the place. The store is overwhelming at first but also kind of welcoming in a way that makes you want to support local businesses. Also, they open relatively late in the AM for a place that takes so much pride in their coffee (8am) So unless you live or work down the block, this isn't your morning coffee stop. Also, Saturday is the best time to go because it's one of the few businesses in the area that's open so there's ample parking and hardly any line. This is important because they don't really work with urgency. They move kind of slow and sometimes dilly dally which is frustrating because buying coffee is supposed to be a very quick, in and out type of ordeal. Sunday in the area is pure chaos. Location wise, the cheese store is not really "on the way" to anywhere so you'd have to make it a point to stop in. All in all, the place is overly hyped but I'd stop in again for old time's sake. They are serious about their coffee so make sure you follow directions when ordering. Yes, directions. You need to think about size, iced or not iced, flavor, type of milk, sugar type, etc all beforehand. So worth it. Went there Friday morning to order ice coffee without ice since it dilutes the coffee. I was charged more then the listed price and told it was the Shabbat special without ice. Their iced coffee is really good flavor wise. However, they massively screwed up my order. I cannot tolerate caffeine so I ordered decaf. Yes, I am aware that decaf has some caffeine; however, it does not have too much for me to tolerate. That is the point, actually; get enough caffeine to wake up but not so much as to make me sick. They gave me regular coffee instead. I did not notice until it was too late and am currently experiencing symptoms such as tachycardia and a massive panic attack. Will not be ordering from here again if they cannot take orders seriously. I do not order decaf to be fussy, but rather so I can wake myself up without having heart rate issues. Never again. Very cool cheese store in the town of Cedarhurst with a great assortment of cheeses. It's great for all quantities, I just got a catering order and all the cheese were delicious. Best iced coffee on Long Island! I come here anytime I'm in the neighborhood, and it is well worth it. There are almost 100 different iced coffee flavors to choose from (my personal favorite is chocolate raspberry!) I was looking forward to trying iced coffee here after hearing how great it was. I don't understand how so many people could be so wrong. I tried two different flavors peppermint patty and Milky Way. The peppermint patty tasted like burnt weak coffee and the milk way tasted like water. Huge disappointment. read more

I've been to the Cheese Store 3 times since the new owners took over. I realize that new owners might need some time to get up and running, but I was very disappointed to see empty shelves. It gives me the impression that the new owners may not be interested as Mitch was. Thankful that the help has stayed and maybe some of their friendliness will rub off on the new owner. Empty shelves and a cold attitude are a sure road to failure. I hope I'm wrong, because I love their coffees. read more
