I was surprised to see another chicken place open on Getwell. Especially across from two others. We decided to give this place a try. I must say for just opening recently it was very good. The chicken is also very different from the style of the other two. When we walked in we were greeted by the staff. The inside was very clean and nice. We grabbed a menu and sat down to look it over. You actually order from the counter and wall menu, but we wanted to look everything over (Not Rushed) They have alot of great options on the menu. This includes dry rubs and dipping sauces. Many different options for the chicken and the french fries. I like very hot/spicy food and my wife is more into sweet/salty. There were great options for both of us. I got the "Nashville Hot" wings and drumsticks. My fries were plain with no adds (Chili, Cheese, Garlic) You can choose dry rub and dipping sauce or toss the chicken and dip it in a choice sauce. My wife got the chicken wings (Not Tossed) and the Teriyaki dipping sauce. She got her fries covered in cheese. The chicken itself was cooked very crisp and tasted great. I was not impressed by the heat of the "Nashville Hot" It was barely mild to me. I love really hot food though. The owner gave me his hottest sauce (Damn Hot) to try dipping. That was on point! next time I will get mine tossed in that. My wife said she really enjoyed hers with the Teriyaki dipping sauce. We both loved the fries. They are the coated style fries cooked very crisps. We both enjoyed the food and will be back to try some of the other options. Final: The overall experience was great and I recommend giving them a try if you like this style food! If I had to pick some improvements. One would be to move the drink machine. Its way to close to the people ordering. I was trying to fix my drink with someones butt next to me ....lol.... The other thing would be to give dipping sauce cups based on amount of food. My wife had three wings and I had eight. We both received one small cup. They were nice enough to give me the hotter sauce but I think that many should get at least two of the ranch. read more

Haven't been here for a while and one kid was asking to go here for dinner so off we go. I'd like to say Chicken Shack read my review and adjusted the temp and time in the fryer for the tendies but it probably wasn't on account of my precious review. But the good news is someone somehow fixed it and the tendies were very tender and juicy and very well cooked. Breading and seasoning was very good as well. In fact I had a few bites of my tendies and wings without any sauce at all and found it to be right tasty. However, OMG the salt!!! Still as salty as the Dead Sea. Great music playing in the restaurant l, might have been about 1 or 2 notches too high on the volume though as it was slightly difficult to communicate with the guy at the register. We stopped by the new chicken joint in Southaven today for lunch. It was pretty good too. It may look like your average neighborhood chicken joint, but this place is anything but that. They have several sauces to choose from, and the chicken tenders it self was delicious. Staff here is friendly and made great recommendations. My only recommendation is to ask the to either drizzle the sauce or put it on the side (because they are a little heavy handed on the sauce). They give you plenty of fries and I love the batter and seasonings they use on the French Fries. Don't let appearances fool you--the decor may be divey, but the tender are fantastic, I love the batter on the tenders. This place is perfect for groups or a casual lunch date. I know I'll certainly be back again, at least to try something different each time including the bone in / traditional wings. That' Garlic Parmesan sauce was very tempting too . Ended up here when our power was out. It was good. Tasty salty fries. We've been here a few times and it's a little different experience each time. The gal taking our order was brutally honest in her assessment of the various sauces. Maybe too honest and unforgiving and basically tried to steer us away from any sauce aside from 2 she kept recommending. Uh, interesting. Our food came out at wildly different times. Tenders came out pretty quick. Tender/wings meal quite a bit later. Burger long after. We waited to eat together so food got cold. Whatever, not the end of the world. But not ideal. read more

When I was working at the smoothie King next-door this place was my first stop that says a lot when you have Chick-fil-A McDonald's in a plethora of other restaurants to choose from the chicken shack is hands-down one of my favorite chicken places that's not a chain restaurant. it's so good that once I stopped working at smoothie King, I started DoorDash their food to my new job is just that damn good. The service was amazing. They came out and asked me was everything all right the cook came and asked me was everything cooked the way I would like the whole nine and this was before I became a regular customer. The pros - tasty chicken, tasty sauce. The con - timing. We are a family of four so we ordered a total of four things. First we got the first two, then a little later we got the third. A fair amount of time later the manager gestured toward our table and asked the girl who took our order something. She went back into the kitchen, came back out, and I overheard her say "it's nowhere near done." Finally, we got our fourth item. Went on my lunch and took it home. It's nice and clean on the inside. Everything was new so it looked spotless. The employee was nice and was pleasant to speak with. It has a nice vibe to it and can hold a decent sized group. The food was cooked fresh. I say that because after ordering, it took between 10-15mins to recieve it. I got 2 fried tenders and 2 fried wings combo with fries and a drink. You do have an option of fried or not. They have a good amount of options of sauces to choose from. I tried the Nashville Hot and Mango Habenero. Both tasted good and have good flavor, but I'm used to heat so it wasn't too hot. I'm assuming it's to please the demographic here. The tenders were decent, but they didn't have much seasoning on the breading, but I do like how they are not heavily breaded. They are better than a couple other restaurants in the same parking lot, but they didn't beat out the ones from across the street. Their wings are better; very crispy and flavorful. I truly liked their fries. They're different and unique from other places and I would say better than most. I loved their sweet tea because it has the right amount of sugar. I wanted to like this place. The service was great but it's expensive. I saw bad reviews and decided to give it a shot anyways. The chicken was not good. I don't know what they're doing here but soemthing is wrong. The breading was falling off and it was just lacking seasoning. I am not one to not finish a meal but I threw two of my 5 tenders away. My boyfriend had been dying to try this place since he saw the coming soon sign, and a friend of ours tried it and loved it. We went today and happy is an understatement! The tenders were very good, we didn't have an issue with dryness. We switched to the bbq loaded friends and they were honestly my favorite part! I can see where people would say the ranch is runny but the taste was still good so I won't complain at all. The funnel cake fries were really good as well! Worst Food Ever!!!! This restaurant deserves a Zero rating. I ordered a cheeseburger and received a very burnt patty that tasted like cardboard. It was disgusting and left a lingering burnt taste in my mouth. The manager would not come to the phone but let one of the employees handle the situation. New chicken fast food restaurant in Southaven. Sorry but I thought the chick & fries were terrible. The french fries were just awful and I threw them away.
