As long as you know what's best for you , nothing or nobody can make you feel bad especially when they play victim. I've distanced myself from all of this and I pick and choose who I want in my life. I can't control who will try to come back into my life after years of damage and with them bringing in negative energy so what I do is I will walk away! That's the best. I say this because it is EXTREMELY hard to find a decent therapist/life coach/social worker (you name it), let alone an incredible one since they're almost mythical or non-existent like unicorns. After meeting with constant terrible therapists who clearly did not care for my well-being (more so for his or her paycheck), I somehow was blessed with landing a session with Tamika. After my first session I felt so surprised. I had finally found the unicorn that I was searching for my whole life! I am currently enrolled in a Marriage and Family therapy program, so I wanted someone to truly help me find my path and purpose as well as heal me so that I can be an effective therapist myself. Well, Tamika did that and much more. Tamika helped me heal in ways that I cannot even fully put into words. Tamika guided me to find my soul and my passions in life. Tamika also helped me IMMENSELY as an up and coming therapist. She validated my concerns and reignited my soul again. I truly feel as though I am a changed woman and that I am stronger than ever and I felt this change in me within the first 2-3 sessions. I only have one class left and I can honestly say the experience has helped my son tremendously. Ms. Karley Gutierrez is a wonderful instructor. She is patient, caring, knowledgeable and makes the classes feel comfortable and welcoming. She teaches techniques that parents can use at home to help soothe and comfort their babies, while also creating a beautiful opportunity for bonding and connection. One thing I especially appreciated was that we were able to bring other close caregivers who are part of our baby's life. This gave them the opportunity to learn the techniques as well, so they can confidently use them when needed to help calm and soothe the baby. I love that the class encourages the entire support system around baby to be involved. I've especially appreciated learning how intentional, nurturing touch can help with calming, relaxation and overall comfort. It has given me tools I can continue using with my son well beyond the six-week program. I'm sharing this review because I really hope more parents in our community become aware of this resource. Programs like this can be so valuable, especially for new parents who are looking for positive ways to connect with and soothe their babies. I have come to realize the firm, in Mission Hills, controlled by the CEO/BCBA lacks an 'inspired…read moregrowth' in company culture and inability to provide a healthy work environment. This specific firm seems to abide by social cliques and favoritism, making it difficult to collaborate as a team and move up in positions. The lack of respect, synergy, and compassion has hemorrhaged quality workers. Their lack of staff (BTs/BCBA) is due to: Abrupt schedule changes, extensively watching you work through cameras, hostile training, CEO/BCBA shifting blame to BTs, and inability to give a WELL DESERVED promotion. There is a lot of restraints/holds that are not documented or shared. CEO/BCBA has dual relationships with certain clients and is NOT proactive with their clients. If you agree with how they treat their employees, imagine the impact they have with your child. They have withheld information to parents about what happens in the workplace, and has had the police called on them to IMMEDIATELY share a report to insurance and to parents. Look somewhere else! This forced plenty of Behavioral Technicians to spread their ethics very wide, while simultaneously being gaslighted, micromanaged, and exploited. This is a toxic, passive aggressive, workplace that does not hold empathy for their employees. You will exhaust your efforts working alongside the incompetent CEO/BCBA. The micromanagement and dishonesty due to their lack of mentorship has driven many people out of the company. Here's a piece of advice: Treat ALL of your colleagues with kindness, they are the backbone of your company. Turn your attention to your clients best interests and continually build rapport. Don't bite off more than you can chew! Projection is uncanny in the workplace.

Where do I start? My son (4 at the time) would not interact with us very much, would speak less…read morethan 20 words, and had several violent outbursts when we tried to change any activity or if his iPad would "die". When Big Solutions came into our lives we were hesitant because these were strangers who were going to socialize with our son and as parents we were scared of negative outcomes. Julian's journey began with his initial assessment and eventually to in home therapy. He was assigned 3 therapists including 1 supervisor. They (Ari, Claudia, Joy, & Paulina) are blessings!!! They connected with Julian but also became our teachers! They helped all of us with Julian's needs and how to understand what he was seeking, whether it be physical or emotional. As a parent with a child with autism, sometimes it's too easy to become frustrated and lose hope in any progress they may not meet. An example was my son's eloping. His father and I had no clue how to predict it or manage it. We would all take excursions to our local mall and his therapists were there with us the entire time. We learned to predict when he would run off, and why. He was seeking attention and sometimes just over stimulation so we learned to ask him to use verbal and non verbal cues of where he wants to go. Fast forward to three weeks ago while visiting an outlet shopping center (yes we wore masks) and we practiced all of those steps and he didn't elope! Had it not been for Big Solutions I would not see us going out with much ease as we have been. This is an agency that turned our life around and became part of our family while maintaining their professionalism. Big Solutions ENTIRE staff, from scheduling to in home, were amazing and extremely accommodating. They consistently helped Julian with communicating in various ways and adjusting to unexpected changes that happened every day. Big Solutions also helped us as parents in not give up and letting frustration and fear run our lives. They taught us so much and how to cope with unexpected outbursts and helping our son focus on his school. Poorly run facility that has very young staff with inadequate experience. Corporate run facility…read morein a sterile environment that is geared solely toward treating teenagers and not adequately setup to support adults facing real life issues who are admitted as part of the entire insurance industry scam that takes place these days. Be sure to adequately read all of the fine print during your intake process, as their admitting staff is very sneaky in the ways they pressure you to sign with them. It was like I was being prosecuted by two defense attorneys when I was undergoing my initial intake procedures with CBH - formerly insight. Read the other reviews on insight and you will get a true feeling of how the facility is still poorly run today. Care quality can be vastly improved, as one of the therapist is not even licensed and still trying to acquire their mandated hours while working on the job and providing treatment. The level of therapy is self evident and not up to par with previous therapist I've worked with outside of CBH. The actual facility itself is cold, grey and white in color inside and is essentially a former concrete warehouse turned into an office/therapy setting. Epic failure if you ask me. Their are three windows to the outside world from the inside, there are clear enamel covered concrete floors, and do be fresh white paint slapped on the walls to give the fake appearance that the facility was recently remodeled. C'mon now, anyone can apply a bandaid over a wound to hide the truth the lies beneath. The doors and sound proofing between therapy rooms are so poor that they have to use "white noise machines" to mask your therapy sessions from other clients to abide by HIPPA rules! Just buy areal solid wooden door and use weather stripping and endure your office doors seal adequately and add some carpet to each room and they will be more sound proof. It doesn't take rocket science to see that the facility management is poorly run at CBH. Kaiser Permanente and UCLA have better run and managed IOP programs if you do your research. It is unfortunate as the staff really try their best; however they really are just reading off scripts quite often in group therapy sessions and it's apparent when you are enrolled in the program that there is plenty of room for major improvement in their IOP program overall. Corporate run facility that is in the money making business, not healthcare industry! There is no empirical evidence nor data that can back up their claims that they are truly interested in treating each of their clients uniquely difficult mental health diagnoses. Some of their external staff has even mentioned that the Van Nuys facility is lacking far behind in comparison to the Pasadena, Los Angeles, and Manhattan Beach or Redondo Beach locations. There is definitely vast amounts of room for improvement in this facility. For the amount of money they charge your insurance, you'll never be able to receive that same expected level of mental health care at CBH.

We participated in this program for a year with our teenage son and this team…read morebrought our family from a state of complete emotional chaos, to a place of love and harmony in our house. We all put in the work, and although it is tough sometimes, it is WORTH it! We saw our son's confidence grow, he was able to make friends for the first time, he was challenged in a loving professional environment and we all grew so much. Our communication is much improved and this team worked hard to make that possible. Before we started this program, our house was full of yelling, screaming, lying, slamming doors, suicide threats, running away, refusing to attend school, etc... Now, I'm here to tell you that no one is walking on egg shells anymore, this kid has straight A's in his Jr. year of High School. He is in the choir, does his homework without being asked, goes to school without complaint, and here are some real life quotes I literally NEVER thought we would hear: "Thank you so much, I really appreciate you" "Is it ok if I vacuum my room" (Almost fell over from this one) "Can I go to Six Flags with my FRIENDS?" His room being clean and grades looking good are just perks if you ask me. The real reward is seeing his confidence, hearing his laugh again, and how much love our home is filled with now.
