Horrible customer service and horrible store policies! Not helpful at all! They have just lost multiple customers that shop there often. I will NEVER shop there again. Before coming in today I called last week to ask about their return policy; my kids had received clothes as a gift for their birthday, no gift receipt and the sizes were too small. I was told over the phone that I was able to exchange the items for the same thing in a different size...ok seems fair...I don't have a receipt. So I bring in my clothes and I go to the register, as I'm waiting I see the cashier being somewhat rude to this lady that's paying... I mind my business it's not my problem. I go to the cashier and explain the clothes are too small and I have no receipt. She asks in her headset if she's able to exchange with no receipt, she then tells me ok you can grab any "similar" item as you have...I repeat what she said I said ok so I can get any jeans and she says yes it just has to be similar. Ok so I get my things and head back to the register.... So she calls her manager Ivonne...first off she doesn't even acknowledge me...ok...then she rudely says if you don't have a receipt you can't change it it has to be the exact same thing in a different size, I was told something else but I don't fuss about it so she asks what size I want, her whole body posture and the way she talked to me made me feel like I was wasting her time or as if we stole or were trying to scam the store and was really annoyed of me...she the. Does the exchange and throws the bag on my hands on the counter, by that time I'm actually kind of pissed, this isn't how you treat your customers. I mean I understand I didn't have the receipt but you shouldn't treat people like this....never coming here from this whole experience. Children's place if you're reading this please hire friendly people or at least teach them customer service... Your employees are very miserable at their jobs. Their entire posture and demeanor shows it. I get its the holidays but this was inexcusable. read more

I'm having trouble understanding the low stars for this store. The sales associates are the friendliest, most helpful and understanding people I've worked with in retail in quite some time. I had lesser service at Nordstrom recently. Thank you so much for all the help... It's a boy! So cool of you gals to take our exchange of all the girl clothes to the boy clothes. When they say kids grow fast, trust'em. It's true. So for most of us, price is a pretty big concern when your rugrats are only going to wear something for a few months at most. I went into The Childrens Place to buy the next size up in overalls for my little hamkey. Sadly, the overalls are being phased out--actually all the denim is--so while I couldn't get the overalls I wanted, they were having an awesome sale on the leftovers and I scored some jeans for $5. It's like Old Navy for kids. A lot of tacky stuff, but a lot of decent stuff, and good prices and sales. And this location had really nice, helpful shopgirls who called around to see if any other location had the overalls (no). I'd totally go back if I was in the mall anyway. read more

OMG best shopping experience ever! I live about the same distance between two different Children's Places, give or take a few miles. I was in the area and went to the one at the Westminister Mall, which I rarely visit due to distance. What a pleasant surprise it was to walk into the store and find everything nicely folded, organized, and with displays neatly and clearly marked. The store was pristine! It was so nice to be able to shop with everything so clean, clearly marked, labeled, and not waist time sorting through a mess of piles of clothes like other stores I've been too, just to find they don't carry the size I need. It only got better from here, when the clerk Ana, went out of her way to help me find a shirt without me asking for help. Then, when I thought it couldn't get any better the store manager, Yvon stepped in to help me order some items I could not find in store and was able to honor online pricing when ordering. WOW! I've never had such a positive shopping experience at a Children's Place! From now on I will never shop at any other Children's Place than the one at the Westminister Mall. It is totally worth the drive to be able to shop in such great conditions and to receive exceptional customer service! It was truly beyond my expectations! Rude Cashier and REALLY BAD customer service. Try the one on 2nd street Long Beach instead... Much better people!!! My brother sent some clothes from Children's place online for my Son's birthday. They were a lil small so I went to "EXCHANGE" the clothes. First the ladies(2) working at the have me crap about it cannot be returned (remember I came to exchange and I already have the clothes in front of you I want to exchange it to). After a couple of min they said they will only exchange it if I can bring the person the gift was sent with an ID. Remember when I told you (cashier) that it's for my son who is not even two?!?. So she is like make sure if someone is sending you anything (gifts) should be in your name to return (although the address in the gift receipt matches the one on my ID). Than they said ok will exchange the 2 of 3 clothes but the 3rd one has to be returned online. Didn't give me a reason to exchange the 2 and not the third one. All this while both the ladies at the cash register were REALLY RUDE!!! Please don't be in service industry if you can't be courteous to customers. Anyways.... Made a point! Would give zero stars if I could. Cashier rang up an item twice, but I didn't notice until getting home. I called the store to ask for a refund over the phone but was refused, claiming I needed to return to the store to fix their mistake. For an item only costing $3, I'm not willing to spend my time and gas. read more

I should have read this store reviews before coming in. I really suggest people NOT to come here. I never have encountered the worst customer service like it was at this store. The male cashier and a girl named "Mercedes" were very rude, very loud, very unprofessional, and NO class. I would give it a zero star if there was one. I made a large online order on 11/27/17. On 12/13/17, I received my shipment and one of my items was wrong. When I went to the store on 12/14/17, Hannah tried very hard to correct the mistake. Very rudely, a women standing next to me in line chimed in and said she was the store manager and they cannot help me in the store and that "I should have called in instead of going into the store." I explained to her I had already been waiting on my shipment for almost 3 weeks and I needed them for the holidays. She was persistent saying they can do nothing and the stores are separate from on line purchases. After spending almost my whole lunch hour, I had to repurchase the top that was missing in my order. This afternoon I called customer service regarding what had happened and Jackie pleasantly reassured she would refund the money for the top I didn't receive and I could keep the wrong item I received. I asked Jackie about their policy and she said I should have been able to do everything in the store. Mercedes should NOT be working in an environment with children. She is rude and nonchalant, which are qualities a "manager" should never have. I'll never shop at this location and still not sure if I'll ever shop with this company. read more

When I came back she's helping other customer at another register. Which is fine with me cause I left for a moment. She called for help and Mercedes came. She asked me if the other girl scan the item on the top yet. I told her she did. But then she kept checking and asking the other girl again. If she doesn't trust me then don't even bother to ask me. I told her again that the other girl did already. Which she did. Now she yell at me saying can u let me do my job? Hell yah I let u do your job if u didn't ask me and check in your register. Terrible Service. The manager closed the store at 8:24pm when the mall and the rest of the stores close at 9pm. As customers proceeded to come in, the manager kicked them out because they were technically closed since it takes them "awhile to clean up the store at 9pm". read more

Not surprised to see this place only has a two star rating. That's the most I would give it. Poor customer service. I shopped there for the first time during the holidays and realized everything was on sale because it was so overpriced to begin with. I was give a $10 coupon to use after the holidays and thought it was like Kohls cash. But I discovered you have to spend a minimum of $20 to use the $10. When I went back to exchange an Easter onesie for St. Patricks, the girl wouldn't do it without a receipt. I later returned with the receipt, and she wanted to charge me $3 even though both onesies were the same original price and same sale price. She said because I had used the coupon, the Easter onesie had rung up as $3.13 so I could only exchange Easter for Easter if I didn't want to pay more. I left and I won't be back. There are cuter clothes, nicer staff and better deals at Target just a few steps away from this place. read more

I usually go to the one at the block in orange but this one is actually closer, I had gotten some clothes for my little brother at the one at the block but didn't fit so I went back to return them here. I asked if I can return the items and the cashier rudely said I needed the credit card I paid I didn't have it with me so I asked if i can exchange instead she said yes but once I was at the cash register the cashier RUDELY again said I need my ID because I didn't have the credit card . I had forgotten that also (yes that was probably my fault ) but why couldn't she just tell me from the beginning what I needed instead of having to waste my time searching for other clothes. Also the store itself is very unorganized they sizes were all mixed and or didn't have the sizes needed. first and last time coming here, though its further I rather go get good service at the block than coming here again!! read more
