I would strongly caution others before going to this office. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My experience felt extremely sales-driven and uncomfortable from start to finish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was repeatedly pressured by Dr Park to commit to a ~$3,000 care plan (4 months) instead of being allowed to use my insurance on a per-visit basis. The doctor discouraged me from using my insurance, stating I had a $2,000 deductible and limited visits. However, another chiropractor in Arlington ran the exact same insurance card (carefirst blue cross blue shield) and confirmed my visits were fully covered with no deductible and more yearly visit availability. The office also encouraged me to sign for $500 worth of extra at home chiropractic tools and $300 orthotic inserts. The Doctor repeated stated that if you were not willing to use the tools at home and do your homework that he would not take you on as a patient (aka you had to buy these items to be a patient with them ). I ended up paying $250 out of pocket for two visits here, despite only being adjusted at one after asking. Pricing was not clearly explained to me beforehand when I declined to sign their contract. The initial visits were long and drawn out, each about an hour long and included watching videos focused on worst-case outcomes if you don't continue chiropractic care. I got up to leave and clearly stated the cost was not affordable at $800 per month for 4 months. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The Dr. continued to talk about changing payment options to weekly, or spreading out payments and questioned my commitment to fixing any spine related problems.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was escorted from his office to the front desk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also felt pressured to schedule follow-up appointments ASAP before leaving the office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After canceling over the phone the next day I received multiple calls (3-4 times) from the office and was asked to come back in for a "closing" appointment, which I declined[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Not what I expected when searching for a chiropractor. I was hoping for a more holistic, relaxed, spa-like environment similar to other practices I've visited. Instead, the space had more of a gym-like vibe, and I was given a tour of the facility before my first treatment, which felt a bit unusual to me. Both physicians were just okay in my experience and at times came across as a bit condescending. New patients should heed the warning of the 1-star reviews on Google. I wish I had read them before committing to this place because they are completely accurate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the start, the environment at Pershing Chiropractic and Rehab felt off--everyone, especially the front desk staff, is overly friendly to the point of being fake and insincere. When I was extremely sick and needed to reschedule my appointments, the front desk girl, Gabby, kept pushing me to come in, claiming an "adjustment would help with being sick." No legitimate doctor should be encouraging sick patients to come in when they are clearly unwell and uncomfortable. This was a huge red flag for me. I only went through 1.5 months of treatment before finally listening to my gut about this place and having enough. When I called to cancel (over the phone) this weird "membership" they enroll you in, I was told I needed to come into the office to discuss any open bills. The "treatments" they offer are completely cookie-cutter and impersonal--it feels like an assembly line where everyone is pushed through the same generic process with no real customization for individual needs. I left my first two appointments feeling very uncomfortable about the integrity of this office. I have insurance coverage, that provides me with 20 chiropractic visits / year. After over 3 hours spent in the office/ online and no adjustment, I was confronted with a convincing sales pitch and eventual ultimatum from Dr. Park.. A "cost-effective" initial intensive care plan that required 37 visits, across 16 weeks and retail spinal kit, totaling over a thousand up front. "Are you ready to commit to this plan or are you just looking for a band-aid?" I have a degenerative disk and a host of other lingering overuse injuries from competitive athletics. Over the past 14 years, I've learned to manage my physical health through strength training, physical therapy, massage therapy, and regular chiropractic care. I came to this office seeking an initial consultation and adjustment after a very stressful, discouraging, and expensive bout of infertility. I was honestly pleased with the initial adjustment, and would have returned if they offered to honor my Cigna coverage and allow me to remain autonomous over my financial commitments. I did not appreciate feeling shamed and gaslit for elective, fully-insured care. Don't be fooled by their super nice/ caring veneer that makes you feel like they care about you. They will commit to your care, only if you commit to their intensive plan. Some additional notes: You will not receive an adjustment on your first visit. You'll hear the word subluxation 100 times, which has never been proven to exist. They make you wipe down/ replace the paper covers for the adjustment and therapy tables after use, require you to be face down and not talk to the chiropractor (so they can focus?) while awaiting your adjustment, and play Christian worship music on the radio. read more

I came to this office because of the glowing reviews, but my experience was far from that. *The payment options seemed geared towards a gym membership or subscription service than a medical practice. I was given the choice between either $418/5 months or around $2,000 as a one time payment. When I asked about the discrepancy in price for the different treatment frequencies, I was given an unsatisfactory explanation that didn't make rational sense to me. * Dr. Park and his staff kept on saying "if we accept you as a patient" making me feel like I was applying for an exclusive club membership rather than seeking medical treatment. It felt condescending and unprofessional. * The "open adjusting" area was another issue - I prefer privacy during my medical treatments, not to be exposed to the view of other patients. * Their HIPPA and Privacy Policy and Health Disclaimer were empty links, which raised concerns about their ability to protect and genuine care for patients' personal health information * I was given a tour of the office, which I found very strange, again, felt like a tour I'd get when coming to a gym not a medical office. * Overall, the whole experience was more like a sales pitch than medical consultation/treatment. This is a review for Dr. Sangwoo (Danny) Park. I am very disappointed in this practitioner's aggressive push to sell me on an overly excessive treatment plan, his unwillingness to follow Virginia mandate for proper mask wearing for COVID-19, and his lack of following payment procedures via my health insurance. I first came into the office to get an adjustment for my back and to discuss how to treat pain in my upper back. In the 1st visit, Dr. Park spent an hour collecting my medical history and diagnosing my back issues, which seemed normal. Things started to get suspicious when he sent an assistant to treat me on a machine for 8 minutes and told me come back the next day with little explanation on what to expect in my second visit. He also refused to follow WHO and Virginia legal guidelines on masks by not covering his nose with his mask. He tried justifying his actions by saying it is unsafe to wear masks for hours, even though all healthcare professionals (nurses and doctors) I have seen have been extremely diligent with masking indoors. The next day, I came back, expecting to be adjusted, but instead Dr. Park spent 30 minutes trying to sell me on an excessive 12-week, 3x a week plan even though I had already given him multiple indications that the plan is not for me. I have seen chiropractors before for routine treatment and for serious whiplash after a car accident. None of my previous experiences with chiropractors have involved such pushiness and disregard for basic health standards. I had to straight up tell this practitioner that I was very uncomfortable with his visit and left. He also did not follow the copay amount for the visit by my insurance for my 1st visit. This is a review for Dr. Danny Park who currently works in this office. Dr. Park adjusted me at his previous office Active Family Wellness in Fairfax for 4 months. Dr. Park has a great bedside manner and is very engaging and professional. You can tell that he is very passionate about what he does and educating his patients to change their lives for the better. I went in for the hip joint/lower back/neck pain. It was my first time going to a chiropractor. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but it worked wonder for me! I was moving around on one leg after an ankle fracture for 5 months. The body compensated for the bad leg and was causing bad misalignments. The issues were addressed by the chiropractic adjustments, and I am happily pain-free now and have more energy. I did feel the difference after the first adjustment (slept so so well that night), and the discomfort and pain eased greatly over time. Dr. Park gave me some tips to improve posture and break bad habits (i.e. holding cell phone at eye level not looking down to avoid tech neck; using pillows to correct sleeping positions etc.) so I can hold the adjustment longer and don't cause pain for myself. I have been to many chiropractors for care. This office had a few reviews on medical sites but it's close to my house. Big mistake. It's all a marketing gimmick to separate you from your money. I felt like I was being worked by a used car salesmen at an overhyped club with the overhead dance music and rather unclean (unknown hairs on face area cut out of the table) and worn out facilities. Everything had a catchy name- the chairs with rubber discs on them are called the hydration center and other such nonsense. Oh, and there is no privacy- as I was having an 8 minute electro-stim session on my shoulder, they hustled another man in right next to me-who immediately fell asleep and was loudly snoring. So, I had the same experience as others who posted reviews and wish I saw them sooner. There is nothing worse than being in actual pain, having someone scam you out of $60 for a designer version of icy hot, then upon your return appointment want the full "course of treatment"copay money up front- then an added thousand or two thousand dollars to "reach your goals" even though you have insurance. It is a very high pressure sales technique- I've seen it before. Also, the high pressure sale pitch is done before you have had a single adjustment by this practitioner. Oddly, when I said this would not be a good fit for me, the practitioner tried to give me a recommendation to his chiropractor... who charges per appointment for services received at that appointment. HIS own chiropractor charges as he receives services... I almost burst out laughing. Dr. Yousefi is a professional therapist. I went here after ripping a hamstring muscle. And have loved the results with his practice. I had previously gone to two different orthopedics, and two general practice doctors. The results were negligible. Dr. Yousefi made all my pain go away and restored my hamstring to 100% of its previous athletic ability. Dr. Yousefi is a professional sports injury rehabilitation expert. He has been highly recommended by everyone i know who has been here. They have a few offices in the DMV, buy i recommend this one the best. From my first visit, the doctor took his time to explain my injury in great detail and depth. He made me understand why my injury occurred, how to cure it, and prevent future recurrences. He was very patient with my questions and concerns. The facility is fairly new, and has modern massaging equipment. They are very flexible with their schedules. I would recommend calling and making an appointment, i do not think they do walk ins. Three (3) things about Dr. Sangwoo "Danny" Park: 1) I smashed my right foot 20 years ago, and it never really healed. It was always, kind of ... numb. After a handful of lower back adjustments with Dr. Sangwoo Danny Park, I began to feel sensation in my right foot again....Huh?!? What!!!??? I could articulate my toes, move the tiny tendons, ligaments, muscles in my feet -- flex, fan, and curl my toes. I could point my foot. After a few weeks of adjustments, I could walk around the lake -- twice. No pain, no exhaustion, no throbbing Hobbit tree trunk feeling. I just ... I dunno. I just don't know what to say to this. After 20 years, I'm almost afraid to write this for fear it will go away, and my feet will go back to the way they were. 2) My bladder leakage stopped. Yeah. I had bladder leakage. Not a fun thing to say, nor very proud to say it. I had kept it in check with lap swimming two times per week (pelvic floor strengthening, ladies! Pelvic floor. Isa Herrara's work!), but then COVID hit. Pool closed. Still, as the months dragged on, nothing. Just, nothing. I'm still not back to my regular swim schedule, but still, nothing. The only, ONLY, thing that's different between this year and any other is Dr. Park's adjustments. I have to attribute this change to him. 3) In "The Body Keeps the Score", Bessel Van Der Kolk describes how your "issues are in the tissues." Bruce Lipton describes how your biography becomes your biology. Neither of these could be more true for me. When Dr. Park gives me an adjustment, all sorts of darkness and trauma can arise. There have been tears, and some screams. Dr. Park simply holds space. He simply and quietly gives you his attention and lets you unravel, if you have to. I'm impressed! I went solely on the information provided on the website ZocDoc (choose your insurance plan and it provides local practioners who accept it within a given radius). I saw Dr Lee and he was a great fit for me as far as personality, aggressiveness (how much pressure he uses) and had a firm understanding of anatomy. If I rated Dr Lee solely, I'd give a 5 My only complaints with Yousefi Chiropractic are they have one website and that website is connected to their Silver Spring location (Arlington address is not even listed). I also like to have more information on the doctor (a profile) prior to going to see them as it gives me comfort to know them better (if I need to take my shirt off and sit with a gown on, I like to know where you went to school, what you like to do in your free time, etc.) I love Dr Lee uses ZocDoc but wish they were using an electronic method of health records at Yousefi Chiropractic Clinic. Over a month ago, I made it a priority to see a chiropractor as my lower back pain began to impact my sleep, give me headaches, and disrupt my daily life. Choosing this center for my care was the best decision. During my consult, I was confident that Dr. Park was listening to my concerns, and I felt comfortable with the treatment plan that he recommended. Since I starting treatment, my sleep habits has greatly improved; my headaches are less frequent, and I no longer feel pain in my lower back from sitting, standing, or laying down. I appreciate that Dr. Park reinforces healthy habits at every appointment (re: not looking down at phones, not sleeping on the stomach, going for a walk daily....etc.) The entire team at Pershing is welcoming and offers wonderful customer service. Then after the second visit they wanted me to pay $1400 out of pocket, Dr Park bullying & hustling me into to commit to this. Only then did they tell me they didn't take my insurance and charged me an additional fee for just talking at me for a half an hour. They knew all alo mg tho we didn't take me insurance but lied to me to try to get me to pay out of pocket. Slimy. I ended up paying $75 for no treatment. Huge scam they are running here. In many ways, this office is a scam. First of all, while they may show a bunch of availability on ZocDoc, upon booking my appointment, they requested me to call them and ended up having to rescheduling me days ahead because they actually didn't have availability anywhere as close to as shown on ZocDoc. Second of all, they do not do actual chiropractic alignment treatment during your first appointment. Their excuse is that Dr. Park needs to evaluate you first. (But why not do both?) The first appointment is basically a wannabe-mental-health-therapy/life-coach-ish style of appointment where Dr. Park tries to establish himself as your "coach." It's not enough to say doing X gives you pain. He wants to know HOW the pain makes you FEEL emotionally. You need to tell him in your own words why you don't like pain. You can say he's being empathetic and trying to get the full picture, but honestly this is just a way to fill up the appointment time without doing actual treatment. He also says condescending things like "repeat after me" and quizzes you on medical jargon as he explains what the chiropractor philosophy is about, which ends up taking time and is very annoying. When he finally does do the physical exam (which only takes about 3 minutes by the way), he does not tell you all his findings. This is where the scam especially is clear: He said I needed to book an appointment IMMEDIATELY for the next day and only during that appointment will he tell me 1) if his office can even help me with my problem, 2) how long it will take to fix the problem, and 3) insurance coverage. Excuse me? I need to book a second appointment for you to be upfront with me about if you can even fix my issue? And not only that, but he also then tries to sell CBD oil that happens to be readily available in his office. I overheard it costs $60. And he puts pressure to buy the oil even if you don't want it, asking why you don't want it and explaining how he's a doctor and knows what will work. I can understand why he has great reviews: the staff is friendly and he's a huge sweet talker. But please don't fall for this. Healthcare providers need to be honest and upfront about if they can fix your problem, how long it will take, and your insurance coverage without you needing to book a second appointment. Before I started seeing Dr. Park, I suffered from constant aching in my back and neck, even after back being adjusted from multiple other chiropractors through out my life. I was honestly starting to feel as it was just a waste of money and wanted to give up trying. That all changed a million percent whenever I started getting adjusted by Dr. Park. After the first two weeks and being very consistent i felt like a completely new person. Dr. Park has incredible bed side manner and is very diligent in his work. It was a blessing that my husband and I found him. We truly think of the entire staff as highly. I have never felt more genuinely cared for by everyone in an office before and they really have a great vibe and I look forward to coming in every time! I was a patient of Dr. Park's for about three months and would not recommend him. I felt as though he didn't really care about the progress of my specific back pain and was just capitalizing off of it. I can understand why he is so highly rated on here: everyone in the office is super friendly and welcoming including Dr. Park himself. My initial visit with him went well. He did an evaluation of my back and neck and recommended adjustments for a period of three months. We even came up with goals that Dr. Park would help me accomplish by the end of treatment and my number one goal was to be back pain free. I paid a crazy amount out-of-pocket because I trusted him and believed that he would help me out. Fast forward to a month into treatment: I was still experiencing back pain and if anything it became worse. I brought up these concerns multiple times and was told to wait until my first re-eval. Keep in mind, I was essentially left in the dark and didn't have any specifics about the treatment plan including the dates of the re-eval. During the re-eval, I was assured that Dr. Park knew exactly how to fix my pain and that I just needed to stay consistent. I, again, trusted him. This past week, I had my final adjustment of the three month treatment plan and was extremely let down. I was expecting a final evaluation where Dr. Park would examine my back and where we could go over the goals we set during the initial visit. Not only was there no comprehensive final evaluation, he didn't even ask me about the progress of my back pain. Instead, he tried to lure me into continuing the adjustments that weren't helping whatsoever. Dr. Park clearly did not care about my overall progress and ultimately I felt taken advantage of. Don't be fooled by his demeanor, the heavy use of generic wellness buzzwords related to back pain or even his own testimony of how he got into chiropractic care. he is not concerned with his patient's well-being. This review is for the chiropractic care side run under Dr. Park. I stopped receiving treatment here because this office isn't ethical and they do not follow CDC guidelines for COVID-19. Regarding the latter, I saw a patient get treated here without wearing a mask. That very patient was entering the building without a mask the day I terminated my plan. More concerningly, this facility runs an unethical practice that asks you to pay large amounts of money prior to initiating care which is very much insurance fraud and a scam. Detailed reasons below: 1. After reviewing my medical records, I noticed a repeated charge for electrical nerve stimulation that I only received after my first visit in September. Yet Pershing Chiropractic repeatedly charged me for this treatment until I terminated my plan. 2. The doctor recommended a 12-week long corrective care plan that involved 3 visits per week. This plan contradicted what my insurance company thought was necessary (16 visits max, roughly a month). 3. Pershing Chiropractic pressured me to come back the very next business day to review the treatment plan and pay for it all in advance. They offer an office "discount," but an office cannot legally ask for large amounts of money prior to initiating care other than a co-pay or co-insurance. 4. The corrective care appointments last -- at most -- 10 minutes if you can manage to finish your warm up. Often, the staff rushes you through sign in and rushes you through the adjustment because Dr. Park schedules as many appointments as he can, which often felt like a log mill. 5. Terminating care here involves a sit down meeting with Dr. Park where he tries to convince you to stay. I had to repeatedly state that I was not going to continue my care and wanted a refund for the plan I paid in advance. Pershing Chiropractic did refund some of the money back, but there were charges I still don't fully comprehend. 6. The chiropractor's consultation is all under the guise of 'Chiropractic Philosophy' that I believed because it's not something the layperson has any previous encounter with. Dr. Park used the term "subluxations" a lot and relied on stating chiropractic care improves the nervous system.....this is not true. 7. Any chiropractor should schedule re-examinations on a regular basis to evaluate progress on what you wanted improved. For me that was my ankle and foot. Yet Dr. Park mainly treated my back and neck and pain and my pain actually got worse. Some chiropractic issues take time to work through, but you shouldn't expect instantaneous results, but it also shouldn't continue without any end in sight. Highly recommend if you're even thinking about going to a chiropractor, this office is friendly, clean, and welcoming. This type of healing can be intimidating to some people but trust me you're in good hands. Dr Park who I see multiple times a week (I have neck pain sometimes leading to headaches) is kind hearted and extremely intelligent, so easy to talk to. He knew exactly what was wrong with me and started helping immediately.
