Bathroom sewage backing up. Room 158

We are calling this our "in spite of" trip. In spite of the management (whether it's Lion Square or Vacasa), we managed a good get away. We arrived on a Thurs (15th) at about 3 to check in. Room seemed nice but strange that a plunger was in the bathroom. Fast forward to Friday and sewage is backing up. Waited around for a few hours. No fix. Maintenance said we would move. Sit for another hour. Some young man (20 maybe) shows us to tell us we are moving. No idea where- bc no one called us or told us what was happening. Moved 2 doors down. Blinds fell off and fire place doesn't work. No apology, no contact until 17th. Barrage of email your stay is cancelled, saying you owe money, you can choose your room (we were never given the option). 10 emails and a phone message to call. Call and it is answered by someone who is quite groggy, grouchy and yelling at his kids. Still no one bothers to say we are sorry. On Father's Day, the cleaning crew knocks at 7:55 AM to ask if we want our room cleaned. I had to sign a card declining. We were not even dressed at this point. House keeping seems shocked by this. When checking out on the 19th, the lady at the desk gets a little flappy when we asked to review charges. Young man (same one) whispers they are the ones we put in 154. Told all charges are not handled there so cannot review. We love Vail and despite the lack of responsiveness, lack of acknowledgment, and lack of communication we enjoyed our stay. Will go back to Vail, not to Lion Square though. If you opt to go, check for a plunger before you decide to stay

*UPDATE* the price went up and service went down! Apparently check out is now 10am, used to be 11am and if you wake up by 8am, you're spending all of your time packing and not even enough time for breakfast. We were denied our first late check out ever- they wouldn't even give us 30 minutes extra. Makes it difficult to get out that early when they were out of loading carts. I asked the front desk lady for a pool key card since check out was so early. She said to keep using my room key. In the past, that had never been the case, and unfortunately she gave me bad information as the key did NOT work for the pool! She was probably just being lazy as I noticed she was on her phone. Seriously considering booking another place for our trip next year. Disappointing!!! For $350 a night, I expected more!

This place is wonderful all around. From the views, the location, the service and the rooms. Took a weekend getaway to vail and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Will definitely be coming back next year.

The customer service was beyond amazing! I really enjoyed my stay. The front desk was helpful every time. The hotel is in a perfect location near everything! The backyard view is breathless!

Stayed here 9/1 and 9/2/17. This place was amazing. Clean rooms, great shower water pressure! The staff was helpful and super friendly! Sending a big shout out to Oscar who shuttled us back and forth!

These pictures show the damage done to my board after storing it at the hotel, needless to say, they used my board without my permission.

They are in the process of remodeling their buildings. We stayed in the south building which is scheduled for remodel next year (2016).

On the evening of July 17, we inquired about why our room was so warm. A staff member told us that, due to capacity, the hotel's system was unable to adequately cool the room. This explanation was confusing because the hallway outside our room was noticeably cool. We were offered a fan, but it simply circulated the warm air and did little to improve the comfort of the room. It wasn't until our last night, July 19, that we were provided with a portable air conditioner (swamp cooler). While it helped somewhat, it was very noisy and made it difficult to sleep. One of the things my husband looks forward to most on vacation is getting a good night's rest, and unfortunately that wasn't possible. To make matters worse, when we checked out on the morning of July 20 at approximately 5:00 a.m., my husband approached the front desk. A young woman saw him standing there but did not acknowledge him and instead walked away. She didn't return until about 5:07 a.m. to assist him. A simple greeting or acknowledgment that she would be with him shortly would have gone a long way. While the hotel itself is beautiful and has many positive qualities, the lack of a functioning air conditioner, the delayed response to the issue, and the disappointing customer service at checkout significantly impacted our overall experience.

After stopping at several locations along the way, we finally arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail, and from the moment you pull in, you immediately understand why this place is special. As soon as you arrive, the valet staff greets you right away. The Ritz truly offers full-service hospitality. You simply take any personal items you want with you and head inside to check in while they handle everything else. They unload all of your luggage, neatly place any loose items into a nice bag, park your vehicle, and once they see you've made it to your room, your luggage is delivered shortly after. Walking through the front doors, there is a table set up with hand lotion, several different SPF sunscreens, hand sanitizer, and baskets of washcloths for guests returning from outside activities -- a very thoughtful touch. Check-in was quick and effortless. The staff explained the amenities, where everything was located, and then off to our room we went. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit, and when we opened the door we were immediately impressed. The decor was beautiful and upscale without feeling overdone. The entryway included a half bath, followed by a dining area and small bar setup. The kitchen featured Bosch and Breville appliances, which added to the luxury feel. The living room had a sofa bed, comfortable seating, and a large tv over the fireplace that made the room feel very cozy and a balcony looking at the slops. Both bedrooms were nearly identical and absolutely stunning, each with: a huge king bed, a large bathroom, heated floors, a separate shower and Jacuzzi tub, and double sinks. One of the bedrooms also had a balcony. Every evening starting around 4 p.m., the resort hosts different socials including cookies, wine tastings, and later bourbon tastings. It really added to the overall experience and made the property feel even more welcoming and luxurious. There is honestly so much more I could say about this property, but overall we absolutely loved our stay. If you are looking for one of the best places to stay in Vail, this is it.

Well appointed room, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with all the little luxuries. It has a steam room, and outdoor pool and a very nice lounge for chilling apres ski. There is a shuttle to and from the Arabelle where you have a very short walk to the lift. There's also a tent there where you check your skis and poles so you don't have to schlep them back to the hotel. The shuttle takes all of 90 seconds. Wonderful friendly staff and valet parking - free for the first car. Highly recommended!

My recent stay at Tivoli Lodge in Vail was unacceptable and far below the standards one expects from a property of this reputation and location. We checked in after a winter storm and were assigned room 403 on the fourth floor. The room was freezing, with a heating unit that did not function properly. After contacting the front desk, maintenance briefly attended to the issue, but the problem was not resolved. During the first night, the heat became excessive and uncontrollable. With a new and inexperienced front desk attendant on duty, and the likelihood that no maintenance staff would be available, we were forced to open the balcony door in winter conditions simply to make the room tolerable. During that same night, water began dripping/leaking from the ceiling. The following day, after returning from breakfast, the room had again become excessively hot. The thermostat still did not function. Maintenance was sent once more and noted they repaired it, but within minutes, significant water dripping leakage developed not just a minor drip, but a steady and concerning flow from the ceiling and wall framing in both the entry and bathroom areas. Our carpets were drenched our sock wet At that point, we had no choice but to demand a room change and were moved to room 405, , which was a much larger and nicer room. While the heating system there functioned properly, it still presented issues, including a broken closet handle another clear sign of poor upkeep. What made the situation worse was how it was handled. Housekeeping staff pressured us by their immediate presence to vacate quickly so the room could be reset, despite the hotel being nearly empty. This was unnecessary and inconsiderate. Shortly thereafter, a staff member returned and knocked aggressively on our door over a forgotten item. The manner was inappropriate and unprofessional. Although there were moments of professionalism particularly a mature front desk associate with a Caribbean accent who was pleasant, friendly, and helpful I would also like to recognize her more fully. She stood out as someone who was genuinely trying her best to be kind, attentive, and helpful under difficult circumstances. Her demeanor, patience, and willingness to assist were appreciated and reflected the level of service the hotel should consistently strive to provide. Unfortunately, the overall experience still reflected a lack of coordination, training, and accountability. In contrast, a late evening desk clerk was unable to provide even basic assistance in locating open dining options, citing unfamiliarity with the area. I understand that between-season periods can present operational challenges. However, if the resort is open, it should be fully prepared to serve and satisfy the guests it chooses to accommodate especially when occupancy is so low. We did not create these problems the hotel did. Yet at no point did we receive a strong or meaningful apology, nor any gesture to help ameliorate the situation. Both are not only appropriate but expected under these circumstances. As a result of these ongoing issues, we made the decision to leave on Thursday instead of Friday, as we felt it was simply not worth extending our stay to the schedule day. This only compounded our disappointment it was a choice we made based on our experience. I would also strongly suggest that management exercise better judgment when the hotel is operating at very low occupancy. In such circumstances, guests should be proactively upgraded to the best available rooms rather than being assigned rooms with known or even obvious deficiencies. This experience reflects poorly on the management of Tivoli Lodge. A property that is largely empty has no excuse for assigning a defective room, failing to resolve repeated maintenance issues, and handling guest disruptions so poorly. Tivoli Lodge is a beautiful property with a great location, but this was a sad and disappointing experience. PD ...I would also like to note a truly positive experience during our stay at The Little Diner, a Vail institution well known for its accolades in both service and quality of food, delivered an outstanding breakfast experience. His professionalism, warmth, and attentiveness were exceptional and stood in sharp contrast to the challenges we encountered at the hotel. Jose Pienknagura 602-321-2004 Josepienknagura@gmail.com

(At one point for us it was snowing and absolutely beautiful outside) The rooms are large with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, a nice sized living room and dining space and every appliance and kitchen utensils you need to have meals right there in your room. This saved us a bunch of money from having to go out to eat all of the time with 10 people. It was large enough for us to have breakfast and dinner all together in one of the suites. Worked out perfectly. We noticed that one of the remote controls was missing batteries, so we used the one from the living room and all went well. Notified the front desk and they were on it immediately to get us those batteries. Great service! We did take advantage of the hot tub a couple of nights. They have an indoor hot tub and pool and an outdoor hot tub and pool, along with a sauna and a steam room. So many options and all free with your room. This is a great place to also bring a family.
