One of my favorite places! I'm there most afternoons that I'm in town. Lots of cigar options. It is somewhat of a club with many of the same old codgers there every day, but it is also very friendly to visitors! Don't be surprised if a locker owner offers you a drink, Lots of pickup card, dominoes, and corn hole games. Second time I've stopped in this shop and I'm just as impressed as I was the first time. Nice selection and reasonably priced but it's the atmosphere that made me decide to come back. There always seems to be a group of regulars enjoying a stick and playing cards and the shop owner is always quick to break away to help the incoming customers. This shop has a great selection of cigars, and I was really stuck trying to decide what to light up for my visit! Lot's of brands and a lot of newer releases. I visit a lot of shops, but this one really stands out for making it tough to pick just one (or two). Prices are slightly higher than other spots on my regular 'gars, but service and selection definitely make it a worthwhile stop for any cigar afficianado. The owner is friendly, the shop is warm and inviting. On my first visit here I felt very welcome by both the owner as well as the other patrons. I was there early in the day and was offered coffee with my smoke, cool in my book! So while I may be tempted to smoke more than one cigar at a time, I think I will just make this place a regular stop for me. read more

First of all, the people that run this place is so helpful and nice. Secondly, you can find some great smokes here. Big premo smokes such as Fuente Opus X, Padrons, Tatuaje, Illusione.. You'll find it here. The new smokes are also here. I scored some CAO Traviata Maduro that I wanted to try. I think you'll find your favorite, new smoke or a very gift here. The lounge is casual, jean and t-shirt crowd watching news and sports on the 2 big screen TV. Its also quiet enough to have a conversation. I like this place because David(owner?) is very helpful. This guy is really happy to be in the business . I am new to the store and he was very welcoming. Felt like going to a buddy's place for a beer, smoke and a game on the HDTV. I think there are a few golf courses around the area.. if you are golfing around here. Stop by to pick up some great smokes..they have a well stocked humidor. read more

I have to say, very sketchy place. If you are not a regular they act like you shouldn't even be there. Good selection,but when I asked for recommendations the answer I got was "just remember what you don't like" I was truly hoping for something better where I could gleam a little education with my shopping but that was not this place. Incredible ownership (David Witte is a fantastic guy and always welcoming and friendly - and of course very knowledgeable) and a fantastic array of smokes. Set up so nicely that some people stay and watch some of the big screens and just smoke and chat together. Recently they have moved away from Cohiba and increased their primary smokes to Perdomo. A fine smoke in and of itself of course but for those hardcore Cohiba fans this isn't your place - although I urge you to try this location anyway. They are just too professional and nice not to give a chance. You'll return for sure. read more

The selection at this particular Cigar Merchant isn't the best, but the prices are reasonable and I've never bought a dry or poorly maintained stogie here. That, paired with it's proximity to my house, makes this my usual "go-to" cigar shop when I need to pick up one or two sticks in a hurry. There is a lounge in the back with generous over-stuffed leather seating and even three shoe shine stations on a raised platform, although I've never seen anyone giving or receiving a shoe shine. It's your typical cigar store crowd every visit... 5 or so 70+ year-old white men sitting around watching golf. I've never smoked in the lounge, but I've made at least a couple dozen separate purchases here. Smallish selection, but most of the big brands are represented. Well maintained humidor. Reasonable prices. That about covers it. read more

I visited this shop on the recommendation of a friend who is a rep in the Cigar industry. He most certainly did NOT lead me astray! Cigar Merchant is a wonderful shop, located in a strip shopping center right next to a sports bar, around the corner from a Cuban cafe and a well reviewed pizza place. The shop features a well stocked walk in humidor with lots of well known brands at average price points. The decor is relaxed and comfortable, leather chairs, several televisions, a card table, and a 3 seat shoeshine station. Now, I don't know if the shoe shine station is ever manned, but it is an interesting, cool peice of furniture. Friendly staff and regular patrons, all good. read more

I finally found a cigar store with a great selection, laid back atmosphere and a knowledgeable owner. I have only been smoking cigars for a few years now, so I am just starting to learn about the huge variety of brands and tastes. The Atlanta area is flooded with small cigar shops. Many of them do not have a variety of low priced cigars up through the premium brands. And others are just retail shops and do not have the smoking room 'social club' aspect that the Cigar Merchant has. And worse, many of the stores are very snobby and condescending to a rookie like me. The owner, David, is one of the nicest guys you will meet. He has been in the store every single time I have visited (a few dozen times). And he will spend as much time with me as I need to get what I came for (even though I mostly buy some of his less expensive brands). He has taught me a lot about the different brands, the differences in quality and taste, as well as given me great gift ideas for my friends. It is nice to know that he also carries some of the exclusive brands like Davidoff once I graduate to the big leagues! The shop is very cool. You can join in on some Texas Hold Em or sit around and watch the Football game while you smoke your favorite brand. All the regulars that hang around there are very nice and really love cigars. It is great to sit around there and talk about cigars, sports or life in general. I am really glad I found this shop. The other Cigar Merchant on Highway 9 has a similar great selection, but the owners are what set these two places apart. read more

Fabulous shop and very female friendly. David is a very gracious and knowledgeable man and will spend time with his patrons talking about cigars without any heavy sales tactics. Lovely selection of products in a well stocked humidor. The lounge is clean and not overwhelmingly smokey..nice albeit a bit dated decor. Now if only he had some to shine shoes using that fabulous vintage shoe shine stand. read more
