The place overall is great, its a good plan to come with a group and enjoy some time since it has different styles of food and everyone can eat whatever they want, and definitely a good place to come with kids. It has a place with a ping pong table and everything. I can't have much of an opinion on food because I just tried one place (Sakaya) and we didn't like it. I ordered a vegetable bowl and a pork belly bowl, pork belly was nothing like pork belly and very poor on size, and all of the vegetables that came with the bowls were cold like just taken out of the refrigerator. I love the vibe... the only thing is, we went on a Tuesday and there was a tropical storm warning so there wasn't much going on and the rooftop was closed but it was still a good vibe. I'm a junkie for food halls and this is by far my favorite. Every time I go, I walk out with multiple entrees simply because I didn't know what to choose. My all time favorite is the pasta from the pasta bar. I get Alfredo with chicken and shrimp and it is probably one of the best dishes I get when I go out anywhere. My husband adores the griot - the plantains that go with it are spectacular, might I add. There's also a burger joint that serves the burgers from little lockers which is adorable and a fun twist to things. At the end, if you're craving something sweet, they have an ice cream stand there and it's also great! On top of all that though, the vibe is awesome here. Wow wow wow. I loved my experience at The Citadel. We made reservations at the rooftop bar for date night and the vibe upstairs was amazing. Fun but chill music, palm trees and patio furniture. Not the most amazing views is Miami, but there was definitely ambiance. We were fortunate to visit while Beaker & Gray were the guests at the rooftop bar. The cocktails were amazing! We tried the C.R.E.A.M., the Teeling me softly, the Bomb-Bae, Goose Juice, Maduro Old Fashioned and Applefeldy highball. My favorite had to be the Applefeldy highball - strong and sweet. Then we also tried our share of the food from the food hall downstairs. You can pick from any restaurant and they bring it up for you. So we tried the Jerk Chicken Bites, the Smoked Brisket, Shrimp Buns and Vegetable Gyoza. Wow - all the food was so amazing. I love Asian food so the gyoza was top tier for me but the Jerk Chicken bites were also delish. The highlight of the night though - Smoked Bourbon Bread Pudding. O.M.G. I have never had bread pudding so good in my life. The smoked flavor makes it so unique and it literally melted in our mouths. Honestly this rooftop experience was a slice of life almost making us feel like 2020 was normal life. We want to go back and try more of their menu. read more

Loved coming to citadel. I found this place on Instagram and simply needed to come. Boy, it did bot disappoint! Though it's smaller than other food halls I've been to, I really enjoy the variety of restaurants available. From burger to bbq to bowl of noodles and more. Once we found this spot, we were hooked! This is a real food hall. We were able to experience their rooftop bar before quarantine and we are glad we did. It was a great experience before we all got stuck inside. We haven't had a bad experience yet and look forward to coming here often. We've enjoyed the food from Manjay, Ash pizza, Palmar, and their speciality cocktails. It was also nice to have Bachour as dessert but it's seems they are no longer there. However it is worth it. They have a restaurant for nearly every appetite. Delicious cocktails if you're just there to drink. They also have plenty of parking which is a plus. Like any other food hall... this one is a pricey one... portions were small at the same time. Maybe location... location... there is parking right next to it... you might think that you need to park on the street... if you are lucky, you will find a small parking next to the citadel, get in and snag one while you can. I really liked the concept of this place. This area needed something like this. It's a live music venue, a roof top bar and a food hall all rolled into one. Now as far as the food was concerned, I would have to say that it just scored right in the middle of things. Some were better than others, such as Taquiza and Bachour. Would I drive all the way from Kendall again for this? Probably not. Most stands were expensive in my opinon and I saw the bar menu and thought it was pricey as well. It really is a nice building and offers a huge amount of area. Free parking in the back of the building (west side) is a nice touch. Don't let my average rating spoil it for you though, you may like it a lot more depending on what you are going for. read more

I prefer this north miami food hall over timeout. First off, they have happy hour ! Very reasonable prices on happy hour drinks. I particularly like "la pera." The only complaint was happy hour is not honored on the rooftop. For entrees we enjoyed palmar which has a delicious steak noodle bowl. This is a really awesome food hall located close to El Portal neighborhoods. The Citadel certainly injects life into what used to be a business graveyard. We went for happy hour on a weekday and the place was packed. the bartenders were friendly and efficient. Love the Citadel! From the atmosphere to the wide range of options to choose from, the experience is top notch from beginning to end. and their happy hour deals are pretty great to. I've been a frequent visitor over the past few months and I don't see that changing any time at all.. There are several food options.. it's a self serving atmosphere place, where you pay and get your own food, no waiter service for the food but they do over waiter service for drinks.. I really enjoyed authentic pizza from Ash Pizza and the best Caribbean food from "Manjay restaurant" There is a beautiful rooftop upstairs complete with it's own bar, Overall, a great addition to the neighborhood. I was just informed that they would be hosting Rooftop Thursday's featuring drink specials that are quite incomparable and certainly elusive. With so many options, we decide to stroll around first and scope out the menus to all the stations before settling. Once I saw Palmar, I knew I had to make an order here. I'm such a fan of the food here and with the casual and quick ordering style they offer-it's easy to get deliciously prepared food within minutes for a super cheap price. It's casual but also classy so it's the perfect mix of both worlds. I love that the gated parking is free making this even easier to access. It's not as cheap as mall food but it's also cheaper than a night of fine dining so be selective with your ordering style. Options has tremendous range and the price tag was absolutely reasonable. We went at around 3:00 pm as a group of 5 and really enjoyed the flexibility to have something that appealed to each of us. Specifically we had the following: Manjar (Caribbean) - jerk chicken and avocado toast with plantain sides. Explosion of flavor and just the right kick. There should be a sign on the door that reads NO BLACKS ALLOWED UNLESS YOU WASH DISHES . Completely uncomfortable servers and cooks spend immense amount of time on there cell phones. And I actually had a server racially profile me. My wife and I ate the vegetable lo mein and holy muffins I think I have high blood pressure from this one meal SODIUM THROUGH THE ROOF. I will never come back. Better off going to 1800Lucky. And the one star is the only way I can write this review. The sad part is I know that no one cares about this review and this place will only grow in customers and to that I wish them well. But not off of my dollar. read more
