I…read morehighly recommend volunteering at MedWish International because they rely heavily on their volunteers. I visited for the first time during the first week of May 2023. Once there, I noticed that many people knew each which means that they have regular volunteers. I was originally supposed to come with 2 other people but they couldn't go anymore at the last minute. You can come by yourself because once there, you will be split into different groups so you will be working with someone and you won't be alone. MedWish International helps package medical supplies that are sent abroad to countries in need of them. They also send many medical supplies to organizations locally within the U.S. They also repurpose/reuse supplies that I sent to schools for projects or to organizations. I volunteered here on a Saturday morning from 9:30am to 11:30am. As a new volunteer, I sat with a few other new volunteers in their orientation room to watch an introduction video about MedWish. The video is great because it shows the history of MedWish and how they have grown tremendously over the years. Next, new volunteers were led on a tour of the massive warehouse which consists of 3 floors. We were shown all the donated medical supplies that come from hospitals. Finally, we came back to the main floor (1st floor) to sort and package medical supplies which are placed into different categories. There is a sign that shows where different types of supplies go (meaning, which box it is sorted into. Every supply that is sent out must be within a certain expiration date and if an item has expired or will expire by the time it arrives at its final destination, then that item is thrown out or donated to a school or group that doesn't need it for treating patients. This organization is a well run machine and the volunteer coordinator, Sara T., is awesome. I will definitely be back to volunteer here again and I recommend you volunteer here too. **** - 66/150 total reviews in 2023 - 617 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 May 2023

Private citizens can drop off unwanted walkers, wheelchairs, beds, etc., that will go to needy people or third world countries. This is a large operation, and so worthwhile. My ladies group goes every year with little medical knowledge, but we can count and package supplies. Over 3,000 volunteers are needed a year, so any help is welcomed. If you've never…read morebeen to The City Club before, their official statement best describes them: "The City Club of Cleveland is one of the nation's great free speech forums. A product of the Progressive Era, we were founded in 1912 and are one of the nation's oldest continuous independent free speech forums, renowned for our tradition of debate and discussion. For more than a hundred years, all of our speakers--from sitting presidents to community activists--have answered unfiltered, unrehearsed questions directly from the audience." Yelptern Madison S and I recently attended the Silent No More: #MeToo & the Music Industry hosted by the Rock Hall in support of Rock Week. As usual, the panel was well-executed and interesting, we made fabulous connects and walked away feeling inspired about Rock Week. When you attend a City Club Forum, you are also served lunch. Seating is first come unless your purchase a full table, and staff will validate your parking. These two hour events really fly by because they're truly an enjoyable time. In Cleveland, we're lucky to have this open forum exploring important social and political topics in our world! Get over there and enrich your world.

You can pay to become a member or else there's a slightly higher price for an event if you're a nonmember. An average cost for an event looks to be around $22 if you're a member and $37 for nonmember. There are different tiers of membership, but the student membership is only $25 and still includes member pricing -- that sounds like a great deal for the amount of students in the area. Some of the events do get sold out -- looking at the forum calendar, 3 of the next 10 or so events are sold out. My husband and I have attended events here and the food for a lunch talk is excellent. (Not sure if this food was specifically catered by those who hosted event or if City Club provides same food to all events). The event was well-run by those working, easily passing microphones around for questions and controlling for questions. No flaws in the event -- I've run a big conference and I know how much work this. My husband's law firm helps support these such events so we ended up at a sponsored table, but all of the tables of the venue we were in had a great view (more horizontal to stage than vertical -- make such a difference). An event we attended with Judge Sutton on his book "51 Imperfect Solutions" was covered by C-SPAN. The building entrance is a little unnoticeable and as it's right by the eye-catching big red banners of the CVS, it is easily missed. Once inside, there's an information/security desk and several floors for events. Check it out! There's limited street parking in the area, a parking garage half a block away (Euclid Prospect, literally just on the other side of the CVS), or two hotels (Kimpton and The 9) if you'd just want to valet. Higher level memberships include free valet parking by the club.

We were pleasantly surprised with the large space and inventory. I would agree that somethings may have been overpriced while others seemed like a bargain. However, when we went to the register, the cashier let us know that all the items were actually way less expensive than we thought. To go even further, they did a buy one get one free on a brand new in the box dining room ceiling light which we couldn't pass up. I will be returning!

Habitat Restore is such a great place in general and I was really happy with this location. Let's start with the parking lot. Although it is a bit tight, the traffic all goes in one direction which is super helpful and the entrance to the building is stairs but there's also a ramp going in, which makes this place handicap accessible and easy to bring home rolling or heavy things from the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there are huge signs hanging from the ceiling telling you where things are located which made navigating through the warehouse easy peasy. I was on a mission and immediately found what I was looking for. I talked with a staff member who was friendly and was delighted as two customers who happened to be leaving at the same time as I was, helped me bring my stuff to the car. Bonus! I will be visiting here regularly until I find a dresser for my husband and a lounge chair that I love for our spacious living room. Great place.
