In an effort to be objective, and since I used this star system for Bray Road Diner, I'll do the same with this anagolous eatery. Let's break down the stars- 1 star- cleanliness- it's pretty clean. I used the bathroom and didn't get the heebies. Things are definitely old, but it's clean. Classic Coney- you get a star! 1 star- service- yes! Our server was excellent! She recommended the Reuben with onion rings to me with ranch and thousand island dressing on the side. It was a truly good rec, plus she checked on us often with a smile. 1star- efficiency- service is quick and expedient, but the kitchen was SO SLOW. We waited about 18-20 minutes for our food to be ready. Luckily, I was charming company! We had a party of 7. 1star- the food- It was delicious! Worth the wait? Sure! The Reuben was crispy and flavorful. My corned beef was thick but tender slices with no fat. The onion rings were crispy and the ranch was homemade. Would I go back? Yes! This was my first time. Gold star for the yummy tea. It tastes like sun tea. 1star- ambiance- it's a diner with booths and tables. They are in tact and not torn. There is adequate seating for large parties. That deserves a star. That's 4 stars for me. It's great quality diner food at prices $10-$15 per person on average. I'd say it's worth checking out. read more

The food isn't the best quality like it used to be to be, especially the FRIES!!!! We've been coming to this coney for 15+ years, so it's sad to say we will no longer be going there. I had a the burger with an egg on it! The burger was cooked well, had a good amount of toppings on it. The was a large egg and cheese on top which was delicious! I've also had the coneys in the past and am a huge fan. Classic, but good! read more

Exceeding expectations.. This quaint Greek-style coney island with a small town-town feel surprised me a bit. I admit that I've driven past this place more times than I can count without giving it a second glance. Located in the same retail plaza as VG's and a slew of other small businesses, I had never really thought twice about eating here until this week, despite the number of times I've driven right past it running errands for my mom. On a whim, we decided to take my mom out for a quick family dinner and chose Classic Coney Island because it was in the neighborhood. I had low expectations because it's a coney island, but it was certainly better than I thought it would be. Upon stepping inside, I felt like it was a bit reminiscent of the Greek restaurant in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" (named Dancing Zorba's in the movie). Seriously, there were little homages to Greece all over the place, from art on the walls to sculptures in the dining room. I half-expected Nia Vardalos to serve me a cup of coffee! I could easily tell just by swinging the door open that this was a Greek-style, family-owned restaurant, despite the less than Greek name on the sign. In truth, I wouldn't have had any clue that they had such good Greek food judging the nondescript name, but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was friendly and prompt and our entrees began arriving after maybe 15-20 minutes (salads and apps arrived earlier), although it took us a few minutes to peruse the rather extensive menu. What I noticed was the large number of strictly Greek dishes on the menu, as well as a slew of breakfast omelets (including several Greek-style ones), as well as standard American "coney island" fare, like sandwiches, soups, salads, chicken and fish entrees, etc. I noted quite a few healthier dishes, including wraps, on the menu as well. There wasn't as much vegetarian dishes as I would have liked, but our server told me that they can accommodate such changes to an entree if I requested that. That was good to know. I did spy a vegetable stir fry on the menu and the waitress mentioned to me that it was quite good. The Greek salad was excellent. It was a decent size, not skimpy and was loaded with fresh beets, greens, tomatoes, Kalamata olives and feta cheese. My husband was very pleased with his gyro as well. He said the meat was fresh and cooked to his liking, plus the rice was perfect, neither sticky nor dry. His gyro was served open-faced, so he had to assemble it slightly once it arrived, but he didn't seem to mind.The hummus was rather good as well, with a nice texture and taste. I opted for the broiled cod with a baked potato and baked potato soup. I thought the cod was pretty good, flaky and seasoned well. It didn't require anything extra, such as salt and pepper. I was glad because I feared it might be bland, but it wasn't. The portion size was quite good for the price. My potato soup was fine, not the best, but it was decent. I would have preferred a slightly thicker texture. My mom had the fish and chips. My husband and I both tried her French fries. They were huge and clearly handmade. They were delicious. They were no ordinary fries, that is for certain. I must order them next time. This was definitely an affordable dinner. The prices were quite low, while the food quality and service were well above average. I think the three of us dined for under $40, before tip. Mom left with leftovers, even though my husband and I did not. The interior was nothing fancy, but it was clean and cute, very family-friendly. I asked about the hours and our server told me they're open 24/7, so if I'm in the neighborhood and craving an omelet late at night, I'll be sure to be back. Forget that- I'll be back, anyway. Overall, I'd give my dining experience here 3.8 stars. read more

Amazing service, amazing food! I went there just yesterday with my grandson to celebrate his birthday, and boy was it good! I ordered the Peking duck, and it was amazing. My grandson was so excited when they brought him his steak tartar! Sadly, it was slightly undercooked. It was definitely a DIET meal, which the good lord knows I need right now(I just had a tummy tuck). We paid a lot of $$$$ for the meal, and we were very satisfied! read more

Took my mom to breakfast this morning. I asked what the special was and the waitress said sourdough french toast. That sounds awesome, I will have that. It came coated in sugar, not sparkled, completely coated. Well the waitress never back over till she gave me the bill. I never eat the french toast. She refused to take it off the bill. Had she told me it was covered in sugar I never would have ordered. She told me that's the way they make it and if I ordered it I pay for it. Very rude. read more

We bring the family here everytime we visit from California. The restaurant is very flexible to large parties so we can easily seat the extended family (10+). The food is basic Coney restaurant style. I have never had anything but breakfast. The food is good but not great. Corned beef hash has a little too much potato and the breakfast sausages are a little small. The hash plates are sizeable and very filling. Pancakes are good and plentiful. They do a great job cooking eggs as ordered (over easy or over medium are perfect). Service is friendly but usual seems overwhelmed. It might just be the large group so I will give them the benefit. Price is again good but not great ($5-7 for most breakfasts). Although I didn't try it personally, one member of our party tried a turkey wrap. He said it was pretty average and wasn't impressed. Just went there yesterday. Food, and Service was Bad. We waited 38 minutes for food that was cold, greasy, and tasted like 3-day leftovers. The coneys were so greasy, that the buns were all orange. Never Again. read more

Let me start off by saying I've been to this Coney Island before and the waitress and food we had was great. I left a great tip. Today was my birthday and I decided to go up there with my father. The waitress we had was TERRIBLE. She was incredibly crass and foul mouthed. She had absolutely no manners. While we were trying to give her our order, she acted as if we were inconveniencing her. When I asked a question about an appetizer she rolled her eyes and spoke in a very condescending tone. While we were eating I over heard her taking to another waitress about a couple she just waited on that had left. She said these exact words. "He took FOREVER to order! he just sat there like 'uh...uh...uh' I was like 'hurry up A-hole!'" A few minutes later, I heard her talking to a table. she said "man, I'm being a huge B**** today." She said it in a way that she wasn't sorry for her behavior, but more like "this is my attitude, deal with it." I do not recommend bringing children here if she is working. I did not get her name, but she has a big tattoo on the back of her neck and blonde hair. I hope no one has the same experience at the classic Coney Island as my father and I did today. Horrible service. Waitress never come to check how food was or refill drinks. Asked at end of wife wanted coffee and she replied yes. Waitress left bill and never came back. Owner needs to get staff that wants to work instead of being cheap. read more

Ate there for the first time tonight with my 11 year old daughter and will never again, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. The waitress we had was fine, but while eating our dinner we overheard the manager on duty screaming at his staff using the "F" bomb and other choice words. I could not believe the way this manager carried on for all the customers to hear, including the many children that were in there at the time. Never have I seen a more unprofessional manager, EVER!!!!! Once he was done with his ranting he paced the floors like a madman!! Not sure who owns the place but anyone in their right mind would fire this so called manager. read more
