I've been using The Cleaning Authority for about 4 months. They come every other week. I was disappointed after every clean. It's my fault for not calling sooner as I was trying to give them another chance each time. But when I walked into my house yesterday, it was like they didn't even clean. There was very visibly dust everywhere--all over the hardwood floors, the stairs, furniture--the stovetop didn't look like it was cleaned at all, they never cleaned my laundry area, there were dust bunnies in my kids closets and under easy to vacuum furniture, spider webs left everywhere. Things that they were supposed to cleaned as part of a regular cleaning were clearly not done. I called to cancel my service and I asked for a refund from yesterday's cleaning. Apparently they don't do that becuase if they offered money back everytime someone wasn't happy with one part of their service, that would be a problem. I understand that. But my issue with the way they handled it was that they could not seem to understand that my whole house is still dirty. Not just one area. They offered to have a team come back to reclean instead, but then only offered for them to clean the laundry and master bedroom because there were "some dust bunnies and a crumb on the stove," according to the owner, Mike. read more

I wish I read reviews before hiring them. High price and terrible job. First off: it was pouring rain and the 2 of them came in with barely a nod to my hello. Went straight through the room with wet muddy shoes across my brand-new rug. (They had on Crocks so could have easily slipped them off). They had 3 hours and did 2 bathrooms, neither one really large. One very small galley type kitchen, a dining room that they only did the floor, a family room and living room (both floor and dusting although living room was only vacuuming rug they muddied up. There were 2 of them and I cannot believe they couldn't get to finish 1 small bedroom &/or a laundry room where I just requested to sweep the floor. I was rather disappointed. Just recently diagnosed with lung cancer and cannot do ANY housework whatsoever. read more

I hired the Cleaning Authority several months ago and I'm so glad I did. I can't speak for all of their locations, but the Oxford Location has been most impressive. I normally get the same lead person with one or two helpers with her. They are cheerful, efficient, thorough, and a joy to have. My place is sparkling clean when they leave. I can't say enough good things about this company. Worth every penny I pay. read more

Today was my first day and last with this company. They did the initial deep clean for the kitchen and bathrooms and regular clean the rest of the house. I just paid $250 for a "deep clean" that was so bad and is not clean! I can't believe they charged me so much when my bathroom toilets where not cleaned, my shower floor was not cleaned and still has pink mold and hair on it, my shower glass looks horrible and has a film on it with swirl marks everywhere, my bathroom floor was not mopped, the baseboards in the wet areas were not touched, food and water scum build up was still in my kitchen sink, my stove looks like it was just wiped and not cleaned. My usual cleaning company does just basic cleaning for me and is 100x better and half the price and it takes them about 3hrs. The cleaning authority was here for 2 hrs and it looks terrible!! I couldn't believe what my deep cleaned areas looked like. This company should be ashamed to allow such horrible quality control If these pictures are what a deep clean looks like then I'd rather stick with my current company because their regular clean is amazing compared to this read more

Poor cleaning, no follow up or concern when I complained. I talked to them after a cleaning, which 3 girls spent 45 minutes to clean my 2400 sq ft home, not nearly enough time. The manager I talked to said that they would do better next time. They didn't. The manager didn't call me to follow up. The last time they came was also poor. I called and got the last cleaning refunded. They have a nice pamphlet but I would not recommend them. They need to make customer service a priority. read more

Unfortunately we only had them out one time before something (brand new item just delivered by amazon) disappeared from my house. There were 4 girls in my home, one of which was very curious about a lot of items in my home. (Where did you get this? Oh, are those Sanuks?") I contacted the company and they promised they would cover the cost and I would hear from them with some kind of solution. I gave them over a week to respond and had to contact them again. Their response? "What do you want us to do? They said they didn't do it" based on some of the other reviews, I guess I'm not surprised but I am disappointed. I would HIGHLY recommend you give some pause before hiring this company. If anything goes wrong, they really don't try to fix it. read more

I'd give them 0 starts if it were possible. On March 18, 2020 we had a scheduled a cleaning service with the Cleaning Authority located in Oxford, Michigan. The employees left prior to completing the service, because they overhead me say that I had flown yesterday. I'm in the healthcare field and advised them that I had flown domestically (Baltimore to Detroit), not internationally as I understand they were on edge about corona virus. No fault on their part as I later realized they have zero guidance or direction coming from their owners. I contacted the business office as I was upset about how uninformed they seemed about current recommendations and wanted to know what this policies/guidelines they had in place to protect their workers during these unprecedented times. I was told that if the workers felt uncomfortable it was up to them to leave. When I asked about specific screening guidelines, I was informed by the manager that "all of this is new." I disagreed and told that that they have had ample time to come up with screening questions considering the nature of their business and risk to their employees, as well as risks to those of us allowing them in our homes to clean. I'm disappointed that a company would put their employees at risk and not screen more thoroughly before having them enter multiple homes possibly coming in contact with someone who poses a significant risk. Perhaps the owners should think about the health and well being of your employees and those they're servicing and simply suspend services until its proven to be safe. read more

Very unhappy with their service. Used them for about 5 weeks and cancelled. Their 2 "initial cleans" for which you pay extra, were not thorough at all. For example, blinds were not dusted, fan over stove not touched etc. The regular bi monthly cleans were also not thorough. Their pamphlet lists what is to be done during each clean and much of this was not done at all or not done adequately. The final time they came, I left my home at 11:50 and got back at a little after 1pm and they had come and gone. When I called to complain, I was told they left but were not finished and were on their was back. Not True. Later that day a manager called me and said they had finished.when I expressed my unhappiness, they did send a group of 3 other cleaners to my house to do what should have been done the firs time and it took them almost 2 hours to do what the initial team was supposed to do.. Had to fire them after years of barely adequate service. My wife desperately wanted a cleaning company just to dust vacuum and do light cleaning. They have such a large turnover in employment that every week there would be a new girl, ( these girls are very young and don't know how to properly clean) showing up at my home. Last week we had an issue that was a fireable offense. And while I was not going to press any charges, when I told the owner Mike, his reply was " we don't want you as a client anyway" This company also runs the Molly Maids of Metamora franchise with a 5 Star yelp rating hmm... they think they are the only game in town. So if you want crappy service, tons of girls going thru your house and zero customer service these are the two cleaners to use in Oxford. read more
