I checked out the local options on Yelp and opted for Balance. And I LOVE THEM!!! #NewConvertHere!! I called for a same-day massage, and got an early evening appointment (another bonus -- services on St. Simons can shut down as early as 4 pm [#IMeanReally??]) for a 90-minute deep tissue with Megan, who. Is. Awesome. I mean, BEYOND. FYI: I prefer a super-deep tissue massage with very strong hands -- I have a muscular frame and it takes serious pressure to get my knots unwound. At first I was concerned that 90 minutes wouldn't be long enough to GET all of them OUT this go-round, but Megan delivered one of the best massages I have ever had (on three continents). And I had serious issues with tension in my lower back and hip flexors! She recommended a warm bath with Epsom Salt as follow up for my newly-knotless frame, which was a great idea, but I didn't. . . and I still felt awesome the next day!!! Balance isn't a white-robe-and-fluffy-slippers kind of Fifth Avenue Major Spa Moment, but the decor is clean, makes an effort and is perfectly fine.

It always smells great and the added intricate ceiling tiles makes a huge difference when you're lying on your back trying to concentrate on keeping your core still! Rachael is incredibly personable, knowledgeable and fun. She is excellent with her cues in class and always identifying and accommodating each student, specifically those who may have an injury or are looking to strengthen their abilities in a certain area. I have taken and enjoyed quite a few Pilates reformer classes over the years but the spring wall and chair classes are quickly becoming my favorite. She has introduced a lot of new techniques and equipment that I wasn't aware even existed. It has been so fun to take the different classes and discover new movements. New routines are incorporated into each class so each one feels unique and never monotonous. I love that the schedule accommodates clients that have more flexible schedules as well as those who have set working hours. Having the ability to take an evening class after work has been much appreciated! I would highly recommend this studio.

I felt as if I was a long lost student come back. When I went in the school there were 4 black belts, a couple of purples and a bunch of blues plus a dozen or so white belts and it was only a Wednesday night, extremely high level of training. Scott himself ran the class on a basic move and gave 6 variations ranging in difficulty. If I lived in the area this is where I would train! I can't wait to go visit again!
