This place is amazing! Drove about an hour just to come here. It was a little crowded but the manager/owner came over to us cause he saw us standing for so long and found a seat for us. Quick review. Came to meet another friend after some shopping with my bestie. I really loved the environment of the shop, it was really cute, they have these like semi private mini living rooms that were nicely decorated that I really wanted to sit at but they were all taken :/ anyway my friends got an iced coffee and tea, I got a strawberry banana smoothie which was great and refreshing. Awesome place to catch up with your friends and hang out. The only reason I don't give it 5 starts is because I didn't try the coffee yet since I wasn't in the mood for it that night haha, but next time I get the chance to visit I definitely will and update my thoughts on it. read more

Come here with my friend almost every single day and I never get tired of the atmosphere. There are many different places to sit and enjoy a different setting under the same roof. There're booths and even some private areas where you can chat with your friends for hours on end. The coffee is really good and if you want a change they have sweet smoothies, savory cakes and cookies. The music is at the perfect volume for studying and the atmosphere is so chill. They should call this place "Espresso by Machine" not "Coffee by Hand" when I asked for a regular coffee they looked at me bewildered and said "that is an Americano" I insisted I didn't want Espresso but regular coffee, they said they only make coffee with the Espresso machine. Which blew my mind cause the place is called Coffee By Hand! After some more insisting that I just wanted regular coffee they finally, caved and made me a pour over. Without blooming the beans or weighing the grounds. Which resulted in a terribly over brewed coffee. He explained that pour overs take too long so they want customers to just orders Espresso instead. Another new Korean coffee joint in Duluth. Located next to the Grestwall plaza where Snowflakes Teahouse is at. The decor is very cute and whimsical like the coffee shops in Korea. They serve cakes, shaved ice, coffee, and tea. The best thing there is the Mexican hot chocolate! I am not a person who usually goes to a coffee house to order hot chocolate but I had one sip from my friend's cup and was hooked. It had a little bit of spice, not sure if it was cinnamon or some sort of pepper. I also had the Korean ice coffee and it taste like the package instant coffees you buy at H-mart. My friend really loved the shaved ice there, pot bingsu. It melted really fast and was too sweet for my liking. Tasted more like a Vietnamese dessert called che with the red beans. I loved the cheesecakes and mouse cakes they sell there. Not sure if they baked it in stores or bought it. There is 4 private rooms for large groups that decorated to feel like you are sitting in your grandmother's living room. Service was helpful and friendly. Delicious and savory with a lasting impression. I recommend the caramel cappuccino again and again. The atmosphere is a bit buzzing... but the set up is quite interesting with. Sadly I was just interested in the coffee, I mean with the name Coffee by Hand you just have got to try the coffee . Well I was indecisive with what coffee I wanted to try. But then saw something that interests me, Korean Sweet Coffee, hmmm never had this. So upon asking the nice workers there about it they kindly let me try a sample of the Korean coffee. At first I thought it would be like some weak coffee, boy was I wrong. This was some strong coffee more like espresso. I could not believe that I haven't tried Korean coffee before now , as a devoted coffee drinker I was ashamed. This has become one of my newly favorite coffee. I'm sort of torn about this place because there's so many pros but the service NEEDS to improve. Pros: - everything I've ordered has been good. Korean iced coffee, patbingsu, cake, 5 grain smoothie - I really enjoy the layout of the place and the privacy you get when you visit with a group - There's a fan outside for those who prefer to sit there Con: Customer Service - They're really just not friendly. I've been multiple times and I'm surprised how something has come up this often. I guess bad luck maybe? - Two of my friends went to order and right after they placed their order, the girl who took their order went to another staff member and asked (in Korean) if my friends were Korean. One of my friends heard and understood this and it was awkward. - Another time, a friend of mine had ordered, PAID, and sat down. The staff girl came up to her and said "You didn't pay". My friend said that she gave her her card and she gave it back... remember? The staff girl simply replied, "it didn't go through". My friend handed her her credit card and when the staff girl came back to return the card she tossed it on the table. No thanks, no nothing. It was pretty rude. I like what they have to offer but customer service and the way a place treats their customers is a big deal to me. I hope they learn to be a bit friendlier/courteous to ALL their customers. read more

Came here for the first time at 10pm and it was packed! The lighting was extremely bright in there but the decor was very cute and chill. I liked how there were individual private rooms for more of an intimate feel. We ordered a mango shaved ice, green tea shaved ice and mocha frap. I like how light and fluffy the shaved ice is. It wasn't just a pile of shaved ice and fruits on top but there was condense milk and syrup between the middle layers of the ice(very clever). Not really sure what I expected, but I was surprised with the decor. I especially like the "private rooms" that they have.. for some reason, it kinda reminded me of IKEA. Love love the placee. But wifi... thats the only problem. The wifi is extremely slow, and though connected you're only allowed on a few sites. So you cant really get anything done. I came to this place because someone recommended to me. The drinks were pretty good and the deserts were okay. My husband and I came because we were looking for a good place where we could study and do homework. We seated on one of the Booths, it said "2 or more people/ 2hr limit on Saturday and Sunday" it was Saturday when we went. We were seating there for less than an hour and an old man that earlier was walking around cleaning and sweeping told us to get up and leave because this booth was only for 2 hours maximum, note that we haven't even been there for an hour. Located in a large but mostly vacant plaza, this coffeeshop has potential to be a cool hole-in-the-wall.. but really failed to meet even normal expectations. When I walked in, I immediately thought the interior was spacious and nice. There are semi-private booths along one side reserved for larger parties. On the other side, smaller booths that are also somewhat private but more open. And in between are many tables. I was amazed at the amount of space and tables available. I went to the counter and ordered coffee. The worker told me my only option is an Americano. I know it is similar, but I personally don't like Americanos. Kind of surprised they don't roast coffee in the morning (I came at 10am). I ordered a tea instead. The menu also lists pastries so I ordered a croissant. The worker said they don't have croissants. So I ordered a muffin. And again, she told me they don't have any muffins. Okay... I asked her, "What do you guys have??" And she gestured to the front and said "We have cakes." I don't want cake for breakfast... There was also an extremely limited selection of pre-packaged pastry on the side. But I looked carefully and it looked stale. So I just had the tea and went without breakfast during my meeting at this cafe. Overall, the space is nice.. but they need to provide customers the selection they have on the menu.
