The misugaru bingsoo was very milky, so it didn't have the usual refreshing notes that bingsoos usually have. Also wish it came in a bigger bowl so that it would be easier to scoop into the little bowls since we were sharing. Wish they had more toppings. The vanilla latte was alright, a little too sweet even though I asked for half sweet, but a pretty solid latte. Interior is interestingly decorated, quite spacious with ample seating. There are so many tea places around me that I still need to try. Mt friends recommended The Coffee By Hand, so I gave it a try on one of my outings to the new Tesso Life. The indoor space is dark and cozy with lots of different seating options including regular tables and cheers, comfy seats with little tables, booths with tables and semi private room type places with the number of people recommended for each space listed. Great for larger groups to be in one space. I went in the middle of the day so I got a snack. I got the Nutella croffle which was made to order and although I'm the smallish side, it was good. I also had the delicious strawberry matcha. The person at the counter was helpful and I did not have to wait too long. The food menu offerings were smaller than other tea places in the area (could have been the time of day), but what I had was good and I would go back. I absolutely love iced coffee and this place does it right. The inside is unique. It has a mix of real and fake plants/trees. I like it. I've never had a bad cup of coffee here. While I usually opt for the iced variety, I have had a hot white mocha and it was also solid on flavor and strength. The iced white chocolate mocha is my favorite. I've now switched it to half sweet because I feel like regular amounts of sweetener is too sugary. The price is fine. The service is fast and efficient. Been coming here for years now--solid bingsu place with outlets and seatings with a cozy vibe! Bingsu (8/10) so filling and chocolatey! My friend loved the amount of ice cream that came with it. The ice shavings themselves were fluffy and refreshing. Latte (8/10): solid latte! I believe I got the wrong milk from the one I asked for but that's okay! I still really enjoyed the freshly pulled espresso. I like coming here for dessert and appreciate the larger tables to accommodate larger groups. Sometimes I try studying here but it's kind of hard to catch this place on a slow bend! They're pretty busy all the time, but that's telling of the quality they offer and the vibes of the place. This review mainly focuses on the custard cream fish waffles. This cafe sells coffee, Korean desserts, and pastries. I planned to just get their custard cream fish waffles as a snack to go, but ended up buying a maple croffle (croissant waffle) as well because I was hungrier than I expected. The croffle came out quickly, within 5-7 minutes. It was warm and crispy, but tasted a little burnt on some edges. The maple flavor was subtle, but nice and wasn't too sweet. It came with powdered sugar as well. I finished it within a few minutes. As for the fish waffles, they took a surprisingly long time to come out. I hadn't anticipated waiting 25 minutes for them to be ready, and I was in a little bit of a rush. When they finally came out, they were cooked well. Crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside, with gooey cream on the inside. Such a satisfying taste, even if it did take a while for them to come out. Taking off a star because I only came here to try their fish waffles. Normally if I wanted to get fish waffles, I stop by the White Windmill that's about 5 minutes away, in Nukoa Plaza. That spot isn't nearly as busy as The Coffee By Hand, and because of that, my order is typically given priority. Their fish waffles usually take no more than 10 minutes to make (given they have the ingredients/supplies ready to go), so I get my order much quicker there. They are also $1 cheaper at White Windmill. I think I'll take my patronage there from now on, as there is nothing else that particularly interests me at The Coffee By Hand. The atmosphere and multiple seating areas are nice if you wanted to bring a laptop/tablet here to study or get some work done. But I don't see myself needing to do that anytime soon, since I go to school elsewhere and just come to the Duluth area whenever I visit home. read more

My all time favorite Bingsu is from The Coffee by Hand! I love that the "snow" is milk based, as it just makes the whole dessert creamier and softer than just using ice. I'm also a big fan of how they layer more toppings inside so that every bite gets mango and condensed milk. And you're not just stick with a bunch of the snow leftover. I just wish we were able to do half and half flavors (I really wanted both the mango and strawberry), but the servers were super nice and they seemed regretful that they weren't able to do so for us. read more

Located in an outdoor strip mall, I bet many people just drive right on by to wherever you're going. However, I'm going to implore people to stop and support this small business. First off, this is one of the only places that serves bing su (Korean shaved ice dessert). However, they are turning this up a few notches with their innovation and brilliance! I was here with my parents so they knew about this spot. I drooled over the baked goods section, they offer macaroons, cookies, unique items that you'd find at other Asian bakeries. But the star? Bing su. They use milk instead of water for the ice. It gives it more of that leveled up feeling. Condensed milk, some sweetened red beans and some mochi rice pieces to top off this glorious dish for those hot summer nights. For those who want something more Americanized, they offer chocolate, mango, and strawberry. I'm definitely bringing my friends who like Korean food here to give this a go. I'm also dying to try the fruity ones because they look absolutely delicious. The shaved milk is indescribable. I wasn't a big bing su fan, mostly because it tasted watery to me towards the end. Problem solved. Great service, they give you a giant bowl and then some smaller bowls so you can serve yourself and keep things nice and clean (if you're sharing with friends. This a really cozy family owned shop. The name speaks for itself. The owners, kids and staff really put effort and care for their coffee and other items which you order. We ordered 2 cappuccinos, expresso and a pistachio cheesecake. We waited patiently for our order as they want to male sure each customer receives the same care per their order. This is my favorite bingsu place (shaved ice) currently in Atlanta. I have tried all the bingsu flavors except for 5 grain and I have to say that this shaved ice is akin to ice cream the way it melts in your mouth. It doesn't even seem real when you dig into it and it lifts up like whipped cream. The fluffy icy center is inlaid with condensed milk adding to the sweet richness, especially when part of the bingsu melts and creates a sweet cold soup. Also the quantity is quite large for the price you pay. The atmosphere is bustlin and has a very nice crowd in the evenings and late nights. It is full of younger adults studying and socializing and makes for a great scene. Not to mention the eloquent decoration!
