I could have almost given this place 5 stars. The coffee is good. Today they did not have any dark roast so they ground and brewed a whole "pot" while I waited (5-6 minutes). Excellent! But I agree with others. There is just something "off" about the whole place. Definitely strip mall trying to be hip. I don't know what or how I would change the place but SOMETHING needs to be done so that they can get more customers in to experience their great coffee. read more

I love coming here in morning after my workouts. The atmosphere is unique warm and friendly. The coffee is always fresh as well as the fruit used in their smoothies! The food is delicious and always served with a smile. Don't know what you want? That's fine, just ask for an opinion. Really good coffee roasted on site. Good food (especially for Derry), especially their bagel sandwiches and chocolate chip cookies. Nice atmosphere, and a welcome break from the chain coffee shops. However, the SOLE reason I can't rate The Coffee Factory 5 stars is their hours! 7:30-6!? They're missing huge groups of customers in both the morning and evening with these limited hours. I know that I would love a place to get a cup of coffee after dinner on the weekends or on the way to work when I leave early. I am honestly appalled at the following situation. My boyfriend and I went in a few days ago and the girl working was so rude and miserable for no reason. She threw our straw across the counter at us and was making everyone uncomfortable. We called to let someone know, they had someone call us back this morning and it turns out it was that girl, and she is the MANAGER. She obviously has zero leadership experience and no management or customer service skills whatsoever. She said "It wasn't cool of you to call my boss. It's not my fault I was having a bad day. And I didn't throw the straw at you, I might have thrown it at the counter." My bf replied you can't let your bad days affect your work she said "I don't see it that way." He then said maybe you should find a new job. She said "I have no choice to work here. The pay is great." I'm honestly just shocked. She essentially called to argue with us, yell at us for reaching out for a manager and not take responsibility for any of her actions. I've never had that poorly of a response in my life, let alone from a "manager." We aren't even difficult people. Literally just wanted someone to know. Apparently they'll hire anyone zero experience required. We also went in the next day and she was sitting in the customer area playing a game with her boyfriend bumping inappropriate rap music, ruining everyone's experience besides their own. Honestly she needs to be fired not because of my feelings but because that's the only good business decision at this point. Get a real leader. read more

The Coffee Factory is a great place to meet friends and listen to local music, check out the newest art posted on the walls or watch the large screen TV while relaxing on the sofas or at a table. Really like the free wi-fi. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service I've experienced is friendly. I wish the lattes were a little less expensive but a practically priced coffee or tea is available. I set aside Friday nights for the open mic which is interesting in its variation of people and styles and mostly draws folk artists, some original writers, and is a non-threatening venue for the musician who is new to the stage. read more

I have been coming here for years and I absolutely love it! I'm not a coffee drinker but my boyfriend is a coffee fanatic and he loves their coffee and espresso drinks. The iced tea is my favorite, it is a herbal iced tea, not black, but it is very good. The hot chocolate and smoothies are very good as well. The food is also very satisfying, I love the bagels and tried some of the baked goods. My boyfriend has tried the wraps and they're good but a little on the expensive side (comparable to Panera Bread) The prices are obviously more expensive than Dunks, but are still, in general, very reasonable. I find the staff to be very friendly, and when I get to the counter they remember what I order (because I come in so much and get the same thing every time basically) This is one of my favorite places to go to grab a quick breakfast, and if I'm not in a rush, relax in the very cozy seating area. There's wifi, you just need to ask for the password. Overall, this is one of my favorite places. Ever. read more

I absolutely love The Coffee Factory and have supported it since Kevin and Gladys opened it here in Derry. They are always gracious as is Heather who works there. The coffee is excellent, too. Their bagels are really good, whether you have one for breakfast or lunch. I like the fact that they support local artists; local artwork is hung on the walls, writers and poets have their meetings there or you can show up to work solo on a project without interruption. I had a book signing there last year, which was much fun. Last, but not least, once a month there is an Open Mic where many good people, mostly high-school and college kids come to play their music and share their talents. There is no charge to enjoy this event. All kinds of coffee and chai are available as are wonderful pastries. read more

This place is pricey and does not reward regular customers. There is no loyalty program and there are no discounted refills so if you plan on staying for a while, be prepared to spend some dough. The owners are friendly and pleasant.Seats can be hard on the back at tables and the bakery selection is limited with almost no choices for people such as diabetics. The atmosphere is excellent. Service can be quite slow due to minimal staffing. The hours are not great and they might be losing business from people who may want to visit their shoppe at hours other than what they offer. The quality of the products with few exceptions is excellent and this is a perfect spot to stop, grab a great cup of coffee then be on your way.Perhaps its biggest challenge is location. read more

Coffee does not get better than at Coffee Factory. The coffee beans are roasted on-site, and getting a nice hot cup doesn't get any fresher. The dark roast is my favorite. And if you've got yourself a sweet tooth, or you need something yummy for breakfast, this beats any other coffee joint, hands-down. The food is freshly prepared in-house as well. I watched as a pan full of cinnamon buns came out of the oven and before I could say "Oh my god I want one", one was drizzled with icing and put in a to-go container for me, still super hot from the oven. AMAZING. Seriously, if you live in or around Derry, you know there's some choices for coffee but you're doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't get your next cup here. I went to the Coffee Factory for the ifirst, and what will be the only time, in November, and hated it so much that here I am almost 8 months later, creating an account on Yelp specifically so that I could warn others. That is how terrible this place was. I was looking for a coffee shop to go to on this sweltering June day (today) to enjoy an iced coffee and some AC. I tried to drive to a competitor. When I got there, they were closed forever. Did I turn around and go to the Coffee Factory? No. Never again. I went home. Why do I despise the place so much? Well, I felt that the service was inexcusably rude. I went to the counter to order my drink. First, the woman behind the counter ignored me, talking on her cell phone for a good 2-3 minutes while I stood there. Then, when she finally came over, I asked what the price of a specific latte was. She pointed up and said,"All the prices are on the menu". Well, thanks, that was helpful. So I finally located Lattes, saw the price, and ordered one. She told me a price and I paid it, but felt it wasn't right. So then I had the AUDACITY to question why it was a dollar more than what was on the menu bard, and she told me it was a special latte, so it was more expensive. Well, gee, lady, maybe this is why I asked how much a freakin pumpkin latte was? This led to me saying exactly that, in so many words (much more politely). Fine. Whatever. So while I stood there waiting for my latte, she proceeded to talk loudly about me to the two other employees. Naturally, when someone finally handed me my GD latte, I said that I wasn't trying to be rude but you should tell people the actual price when they ask. She then muttered at me as I turned away "Well, if you don't like the price then don't come back." I was fuming when I heard her say that, because I should mention at this point that this was during the ridiculous snowstorm we had in October, and the power had been out for 3 days. I was just there to enjoy a nice hot drink and some electricity, for Christ'ssake. Obviously this woman felt like she had the luxury of being rude because the place was packed with people who had no power. Well, I took her up on her offer, and refuse to return. Ever. read more

My boyfriend and I always go to this local coffee shop. We love the atmosphere and lattes as well as the food. We purchased a coffee and sandwich for me and had brought a coffee from an outside vendor. We sat down to eat the sandwich and drink the coffee we had purchased from the coffee factory and were told to leave by the owner. We understand the policy about bringing in outside food and drink is not permitted; however the lack of respect that was shown to us in this conversation made us never want to go back again. I also spoke with the other owner of the shop who had explained his policy in the same manner as the first. Which was by talking over me and not listening to what I was saying. Again a complete lack of respect for the customer. The owners are just very unprofessional and it hurts there business more than an outside vendors beverage. read more

This is a great place for coffee and lattes. They also have great smoothies with natural ingredients. Typical cafe food, fresh baked goods, bagels and sandwiches. The atmosphere is inviting there is a lot of local artwork displayed. Games for kids. It's a nice quiet place and the staff is super friendly. I think it's a family owned business, I usually see the same workers there. I definitely recommend this especially if you are sick of the overrated chains. Finally, a real coffee shop that doesn't result in claustrophobia. Yes, it's a large rectangular room with an even floor. Not things I look for in a dive bar, but with a coffee shop for some reason it seems to work. Even the tables are spaced somewhat and the comfy chairs aren't on top of each other. I have been a customer for many years of this shoppe. When Kevin the owner was here the service was first rate.Since the owners have allegedly been getting divorced, the wife now controls this one.The service gas gone way way down and i have been kept waiting to order while the ladies put on their makeup, chat it up or simply ignore me. At times the wife has been outright rude to me, showing a nasty side that is neither appreciative nor grateful for my business. I only come here time to time because it is conveniently located but if the husband ever opened up a shop nearby, i would drop this and run over to his place. I have spent perhaps $15000 over the years at this shop and cannot believe the treatment by employees or the wife since the divorce. read more

We also got breakfast sandwiches, which were not bad, but not much different than DD. The space is quite large and cozy.
