I stayed in an air bnb situated above the coffee shop, and my host raved about the Sweet potato muffins and coffee and gifted me a drink. I took them up on their offer. I ordered a Mississippi Morning. It was smooth, creamy, and sweet. Some of the best coffee I've had. I was going to get a sweet potato muffin, but unfortunately they had just sold the last one. So i opted to get a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was amazing. Not overly sweet, soft, fluffy and had plenty of icing. The gentleman working was so polite, and gracious enough to make a recommendation based off what i liked.

Who knew this cute little place would be found in downtown Amory, MS? I had a meeting nearby and I…read morewas looking for a place for lunch. When in doubt- always go where the locals do and they didn't steer me wrong. They have a great salad bar in the front which I didn't partake of but others in my group said it was quite tasty. There is always a quiche of the day (served with fruit or salad), and a soup of the day (it was quinoa on the day I was there . . .quite tasty!). The menu is simple- basically sandwiches with chips or fruit or salad. I had the BLT and it was the classic that it was meant to be. Others in my group had the grilled wrap which looked good or a basic ham sandwich. The decor is simple, wooden tables and chairs with brightly painted blue walls. This place is owned by a woman, and she and her staff go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need, be it refills on your sweet tea, or a warm up of your coffee. You can park right out front on Main street (don't you just love small towns?) and best of all? It's free! So if you find yourself in Amory- skip the chains and head to Deli 802 and pick up some of the local charm. Everyone knows each other so pretty soon you won't be a stranger either!

The gentleman said one moment then came back and said "she said no". I never said I wouldn't pay for it if that was the issue. It was later at night so it wasn't busy but they also weren't even close to closing yet. It just seemed rude that I wasn't even offered to pay for it or whatever. Anyhow, today was the last straw for me. I had an online order for a soda and an ice cream cone. When I was handed the ice cream cone it was wrapped in a napkin and was already dripping all over. It's not like it was very hot out either, around 60 degrees today and it was already melting before it was even handed to me. I had asked for a cup because it was clearly making a mess. The woman came back and said something along the lines of next time I should order a sundae otherwise I'll have to pay like 26 cents for the cup. I wouldn't have asked for the cup if it wasn't spilling all over. I understand those things cost them money, but these snide comments now from two separate workers make it hard to want to be a customer. People spend their hard earned money and it doesn't matter if it's McDonald's or a 5 star restaurant. If I'm paying for an ice cream cone it shouldn't be already melting and wrapped in a napkin when it's handed to me. I feel like it would be more common sense to OFFER the cup if you already SEE IT MELTING. It seems like the person running this location is ONLY concerned about money, Nevermind that it's supposed to be a professional establishment that offers food/service, the food is as good as you'd expect it, but it's not too hard to be polite or kind.

On top of that, we asked for ketchup for our four meals and were only given two packets. When we politely asked for more and explained we had four meals, the staff responded rudely. Better customer service and more attention to order accuracy would make a big difference. Come on Amory, do better!

I got a hot coffee one day, & an iced americano the next day. I'd do the americano again for sure. Especially with the hot weather here, iced is the way to go I'd say. Pretty spacious inside--seems like a great place to get some work done or meet up with somebody. We came twice while we were here in Hamilton & this was a pleasant surprise. Prices are fair. I love the style and decor of this place. The Millhouse has an antique style with a modern American flair. Very nicely executed and feels very comfortable. There is a small swag shop inside with T-shirt's and merch and a high top long table toward the back offering a chessboard and other fun game activities. They offer a moderate coffee house lounge area with free WiFi just opposite the modest dining room. I loved the leather blacksmith apron uniforms. Nice touch. The service was a bit sluggish as there were very few guests in attendance and have a counter area where you pick up your food after you order. The staff were a bit quiet and not engaging. Alabama is known for its Southern hospitality. I would have liked to hear some gentle background music. The food was spot on, from the avocado toast to the maple glazed bacon egg and cheese sandwich. You know I appreciate the fresh ingredients and the focus of presentation. Nicely done and delicious! The coffee drinks were flavorful and tasty. Barista quality! This is a definite winner for the morning start! I would recommend stopping in and checking it out! KUDOS Y'all! Billy P.
