The atmosphere was lively yet laid back and not crowded on a Saturday afternoon. We were able to score a shuffleboard lane for two for an hour and drink service was quick once we got set up. We absolutely loved playing, especially while enjoying a cocktail. If we had more time and wanted to spend more it would have been easy to waste more hours on the court or playing skeeball, cornhole, or pool. I don't understand why fun places like this aren't available widely, that's how fun it was. Do watch out while you're playing, as it's easy to overshoot your target and slam your biscuits into someone's feet playing next door or sitting at a table. The gear was a well loved but it didn't stop us (as novices) from enjoying the game and doing fairly well at it! This will be a must-stop every time we're in the Port Clinton/Marblehead area! Many of our guests had different food allergies, and they were able to accommodate us as best as they could. Everything was wonderful, and people raved about the food. The team was very professional; they showed up on time and had the food ready to go. Prices were also very reasonable, which we really appreciated since we were planning a wedding on a budget. It was definitely worth it. We had Vanessa as our private caterer, and she was incredibly kind to every single guest. She even helped my mom set up an entire dessert table that my mom had prepared separately. Vanessa didn't have to do that, but she was willing to help. We were set up for a 2 night stay and soon found the TV had a habit of going blank, (the black screen of death), but we didn't report it, as we figured it was a sign that we weren't supposed to watch it. The next morning I noticed a weird humming sound and tracked it down to coming from a small fridge, that came with the room. When I opened the door, the humming stopped but returned after a few minutes. Then I went to take a shower. The shower door opened up on its own a couple of times. This was a little awkward, for both my wife and I. The humming did not stop but was kind of blasted out by the air conditioning and with the temps a bit lower on our second night, the AC was quieter so the humming was more noticeable and it became an irritant. We did request a few chairs and the hostess was happy to handle that but we also paid a ton of money to stay here and while I did mention all of this when checking out, nothing was done about it. This place is walking distance to everything on the island. The location is perfect. Now, my favorite part of my stay here was the Breakfast. It was amazing and included in your stay. The owner Paul is the chef and he is creatively talented with the breakfast options. They offer an extra ordinary continental breakfast, regular breakfast items with a upscale added version. You can also order from Paul's special menu. I had a Cast iron blueberry dutch baby which was delicious. My husband had the Chilaqueles, which he has had in Mexico and said Paul did it exceptionally well. I would suggest when getting breakfast to eat it outside on their covered porch and people watch. Our sender let us know that while they don't list prices on their website menu (odd), you can call and have one with prices emailed to you. All the prices are very fair and nothing here is overpriced. My favorite dish so far is the pork chops. I'm not typically a person that enjoys pork chops but these have the perfect breaded flavor and fall off the bone just as they should. The paprikash half pan is quite literally HEAVY - we have yet to open it in the fridge but I can't wait. We'd definitely order food from here in the future.
