I don't think I've ever experienced the rudeness of other players before in my life. This lady came up to me almost demanding the slot I was on. I was taking a break sitting next to my husband trying to see if I wanted to put anymore money in that machine. This woman made me so uncomfortable walking around me. Even after I told her how rude she was she didn't stop asking me was I still playing. My husband got upset and of course it turned into a disagreement because he said I was letting her intimidate me because I was ready to go. I don't like conflict and was ready to go. People these days have issues and she felt I was messing with her money because she had hit on that machine a couple days before, for a sizable amount. Don't worry I won't be coming back. I've never seen a casino with slots as tight as this one! At one point I spun 126 times before hitting a 20 credit, ridicules. It's payout can't be more than 10 percent. The track is thoroughly enjoyable with comfortable seating, a nice cafeteria offering good food, and exciting racing events. I prefer to steer clear of the casino, as it seems like a setup for losing money. MGM is a nice casino, although I never win a thing. Many slot machines to choose from and a couple of different food options are available. They do have smoking rooms/areas. The restaurant there was good ( the food was excellent) and the staff was very nice. It's a fun time if you have some extra money to spend. read more

Managements extremely rude. We bought tickets to a comedy show, but I forgot my ID (I'm well over 21) so they would not let me in. Management said it was because they require everyone to provide an ID. However, I watched as they let a 17 year old kid into their casino and did not ask for his ID. But me a 46 year old woman was refused. This establishment would rather break the law than let anyone actually enjoy their night out. If you are over the age of 65, love slot machines, have at least one disability, and/or lack a certain level of sanity, then you will love MGM Northfield Park's Casino. Stunningly, I don't apply to any of those features so you can imagine where after 5 minutes I was lost as to what the hell to do (my family members, who apply for many of the MGM's character traits, is the reason I was at this place for hours). I'm someone who can spend time at a casino if there are table games. Absolutely no table games. I can't stand slot machines. What weren't slot machines there was select video keno. I said, what the hell, and put in $20. I've never spent $7 in a more boring manner in my life. When you're so bored at a casino that you cash out before you lost your $20, that's quite the accomplishment! The MGM lion isn't even remotely roaring at this place. To kill time, I went to the sportsbook. It's a Sunday in the summer and baseball games haven't even started yet and I don't even want to bet on, of all sports, baseball. I'm ending up watching giant screens of golf and random sports interviews/documentaries. I almost fell asleep on their mildly comfortable couches. It's a half-hour in and there are various realms of Hell to me in this place. Somehow my family managed to spend 5 hours at this place. I left to go to the Metroparks and the Bedford Library. But that's my personality for you. I get this may be a spot for many in the fibers of America and Northeast Ohio but I found it incredibly depressing. I give it 2 stars only because the pub where I killed time in the casino was decent and I appreciated the complimentary pop. Machines are very tight but the wife got lucky on her final spin. Valet used to be free for Handicaped but no longer , now $8.00 Buffet was terible as for a Friday when you expext a seafood menu the flounder (didn't see any shrimp) was like a tv dinner type. Beef was lukewarm to cold. Chicken was either over cooked (burnt on the bottom) or not cooked enough. The hot food ( L.O.L. ) was not worth the $30 price at all. We both sent food back and only had cake ( my wife) and pudding (me) . So for a $60 + tip meal I'd say stay away from the buffet. read more

The only music I wanted to hear when I arrived here was the sound of bells ringing and coins falling from the heavens. If I was a little taken back by anything it was the atmosphere and ambiance, once inside I could of been anywhere and I was ready to find that special machine that was calling my name, when I brushed by her I knew for a few bucks I just might get lucky. The ambient lighting and music rocking in the background sets the mood and all of this isn't by accident, after making a few laps with a half empty glass of ice melting in anticipation it was time to grab a seat and score a refill. I'm no high-roller, I consider myself more of an investor and I alway bring a strategy to maximize my ROI - I thinking gambling is the only form of entertainment that you may leave with more than you walked in with if you know when the shows over. MGM Casino is a absolutely great place to wine and din with friends for a fun night out. The MGM is accommodating to the clientele that holds their player's card holders and for new comers as well. Their staff is so kind and their to accommodate your needs. Their promotional people are first class jerks, who clearly hate their jobs. I was participating in a jackpot drawing. They closed entries while 2 of us were getting entries because they failed to mail them to us in time to get them. They closed the drum, announced it closed over the PA system, then allowed the woman next to me to add her entry after the closing announcement but I had a different lady who said she could not also add mine. We were all standing together. This lady was rude and dismissive and they probably violated Ohio lottery commission rules by making the exception, but refused to put mine in also. Stating there was an issue with that lady because there was an issue with the customer before her. I also had a lady that they couldn't make a card for because she didn't have her credentials and she wouldn't get out of line either. Exact same situation. Then they lied about it. Very publicly embarrassed me and taking with others, same experiences. This place has people working with the public that clearly hate their jobs. We are platinum members... no longer. read more

MGM Northfield has a mafia approach to customer service and care. Listen to this! Walking in, I found $1000 in cash laying on the sidewalk. There was no one around. I told security that I would be playing at the casino and was looking for someone to claim the cash. I would be devastated if I lost that amount of cash. They wanted me to give them the money, insisting that I do so....I declined.... I wanted to give it to the owner. I was forthcoming and provided my identification when requested.... I wasn't trying to hide anything.. only to return the funds to the owner They called the police, who proceeded to handcuff me, a 65 year old woman who was trying to do the right thing! The event got me sick so that I was sweating and desperately needed to use the restroom. The police officer would not let me go to the restroom even though I was bending over with cramps. He threatened to throw me on the floor if I got off the chair again even though I was clearly in pain. The police officer asked several times if I had a mental health problem. I guess honesty is now considered a mental health problem!? I don't expect that the owner of this lost cash will ever receive their funds back. I eventually gave it to the officer, at which time the handcuffs were removed and the police officers disappeared. I received no receipt for the funds taken nor was there any discussion about an incident report describing the funds that were found. Horrible experience from someone who was trying to be forthcoming and return the money to the owner. I will never go to an MGM facility again and I will advocate to others to do the same. I don't fool myself into thinking that MGM cares one iota about this statement. But maybe a few citizens will consider that their rights and safety are at risk at this site. read more

Typical MGM nothing too great as it seems it's like that chain wide from Vegas on down as both casinos I've been to of theirs are mediocre at best and just nothing special! For me it seems when you go to the bigger chain casinos that aren't grouped together you seem to find less people winning as you don't hear it when compared to the individual ones where it just seems like it's all better all around! For what it is it's a casino you come here trying to gain a buck but usually end up losing it but hey that makes for the fun of it so why not gamble it! Concert/event venue located directly inside of the casino. Purchased last minute tickets to a concert I really wanted to see. This was our first time at this venue. Friday Night in the lights! My husband ad I decided we needed to laugh so off to the casino we went. We bought tickets to see Uncle Larry and he was hysterical. Our tickets were for a high top table at the back of the club, but the floor manager was gracious enough to put us up front. The Neon Room is a great place to see a show, not a bad seat in the house. Table service is for drinks only, if you ate interested I eating they allow you to bring in food from the casino floor. Laughter is sorest thing but so are the slots. The show was over but that didn't mean we needed to go home, that's the beauty of a 24-hour casino! Who doesn't love to hit the slots!!! This girl typing definitely does. read more

mmm... we used to go here all the time when it was Hard Rock. Never won really big, but always won enough to play for hours and enjoy the evening. MGM Machines, not so much, they take all your money, quick, no free games, no wins, just spin, takes money, repeat... no so much fun anymore. Used to pay on occasion. no more, machines will take your money faster than the taxman. I am between them and Jack at Thistledown. Will turn right instead of left from now on. If you win anything you will leave it if you don't leave immediately they will take it all back. Machines are super tight and I have heard similar from others up there. I am cheap. I play for entertainment only. There are very few machines I like in the casino. Gone are all the IGT, and the Williams machines, which were replaced by bright, flashy machines, with a high minimum bet. There is one machine I like. A month ago I ran a twenty through that machine. The bonus never came up. The last reel was always two clicks away. Recently a tried the machine again. Same results. Took the ticket out with five dollars on it. It would not work in any other machine, including the cash out machine. Color me gone. read more

Buffet was terrible. The food was premade like GFS. Was way over priced for what you got. Wanted a salad and the lettuce was picked out of the salad just croutons and cheese left. The Buffet at MGM Northfield is truly beyond disgusting. The fried chicken was cold, chewy, stringy, and tough. The roast beef at the carving station was also cold, chewy, and fatty. The pieces of lettuce at the salad bar all had brown edges ... definitely not appetizing. The mashed potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes, but had mysterious chunks in it. The pizza looked so bad, we dared not try a slice. I could go on, but you get the point. And the price? Over $100 for my wife and I. Never again. We should have asked for our money back, but we figured lesson learned. We just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. On our way out, we noticed a few tables that hadn't yet been bussed, all with plates full of food. Apparently we weren't the only ones who walked out disappointed and still hungry. read more

As a concert or event venue this place is lacking. It's reminiscent of an auditorium with a painted concrete floor. Uncomfortable and tight seating daisy chained together and the seating in the rear is a metal folding platform similar to bleachers. The acoustics are odd as the sound bounces off all the hard surfaces. The security staff is really overbearing I observed them all over a few individuals from what I could describe as people enjoying themselves. There are much nicer venues. On the plus side, parking is free and the restaurants are nearby. read more

Excellent entertainment venue for a show! Excellent acoustics; really liked the fact that I could clearly hear the performer and their band. Efficiency from the point of having tickets scanned and getting through security to our seats. Not a bad seat in the house here. I flew all the way from Oregon to see a show with my best friend's brother - a tradition we have kept alive since my friend passed away 3 years ago, in spite of the distance that has grown between us I'm 39, but was stopped at the ID stand for looking younger than 35. (Thanks I guess?). Whatever proprietary system they use was unable to verify my id. An id which the TSA's RealID system was able to verify just two days prior, mind you. It was not a defect in my ID, it was a problem with their system alone. And from that moment, there was a cold, unfeeling reaction of "sucks for you, but we're not letting you in". This in spite of the fact I wasn't even there to do a single thing in the casino itself, just go to the bathroom and then go straight into the concert venue. There was zero care for the hundreds of dollars I spent to be there or the money spent on the concert tickets themselves. The supervisor who came out was completely unempathetic in the slightest. When I expressed how unacceptable this situation they created was all I was told "I'm sorry you feel that way". Not even the slightest amount of expressing an understanding of my feelings. What is fully insane about the way they have the concert venue set up is that there undoubtedly must be a way to have people who paid to come to a concert just not be allowed on the casino floor. If I can be at an entrance and stopped from coming on the floor, it should be pretty simple to set up a different entrance that is roped off from having access to the casino floor. Don't let me play your slots because your id system is malfunctioning? I get it. But to not allow me to go to an event I have already paid you for, that I travelled a couple thousand miles to attend? You need to have something in place so that can't happen. At a minimum you need to be contrite and not uncaring and effectively accuse me of trying to sneak in. We suggested potentially trying to use a different scanner to make sure that it wasn't a defect with that one that was causing the difficulty and the supervisor just flat said "I'm not doing that". I will never attend another event at this venue. I will never set foot on an MGM property again. I would suggest doing the same. read more

I spent $400 but then won $200 just before we left. The machines I wanted to play were constantly full... so that was disappointing. The staff upped my star rating, everyone there is helpful and friendly. I use a walker and they have just one stall in the bathroom big enough for walkers and the toilet flusher must have been broken because it was full of someone else's "stuff" so I had to squeeze into a regular stall with my walker and barely had room to sit down. They offer free drinks but one was out of order and I hadn't the energy to walk with my walker to the other end of the building as I have one knee that's bone on bone, and had recent spinal surgery so walking is difficult-- so the women at the customer service desk gave me a bottle of water from her office. That was so sweet of her. Every worker is pleasant. There were no machines out-of-order. It was a pleasant day. read more
