I was pissed and I had too cool off so It wouldn't be full of emotion. -TLDR 2015-2020 Loved this place but starting 2020 till 2023 they were fucking up by eyebrows more then doing them good. I started getting by eyebrows down at hair centric in 2015, LOVED it and was getting my eyebrows waxed CONSISTENTLY (as soon as they were started growing) done from the end of 2015 to mid 2018 and then I would let them grow back before I would get them waxed again. The first time they FUCKED up my eyebrows was 2020 right before the covid lockdown. and ever since then till I stopped going (Augest 2023) they were fucking up my eyebrows or almost letting me walk out with mismatched eyebrows unless I said something even if it was pretty obvious (I know eyebrows aren't going to be twin sisters but they were barley distance cousins) Why did I keep going? 5 years of them doing a great job and knowing other places close by didn't do a good job. They would also do a good job every once in a while so I would HOLD onto that hope but the last time I went they FUCKED up by eyebrow SOOO BAD I had to sit in the car until I stopped crying so I could drive home where I then cried the rest of the day. Even if I would make an appointment they would wait till I was there to heat up the wax so I would have to wait either way. They tried cancelling my appointment 4 minutes after the start time when I walked in at the 5 minute mark (only once did I not show up to an appoinment b/c I though I booked it for a Friday when I actually booked it on a Thursday and I called them to apologize, so it wasn't because I would not show up to appointments)

I saw Kira and she was WONDERFUL. She pegged my hair perfectly which is not easy to do. Gave my a really great cut that made my hair healthy and gorgeous again and had some great conversation while we were at it. I've been seeing the same hair colorist for over 10 years, so finding someone new to manage my hair coloring needs filled me with anxiety. Thank you Sarah C. recommending Tint in the Hollywood neighborhood. I was immediately greeted with warmth and professionalism by my stylist, Barri. She is perfectly lovely, and made me feel safe and comfortable. She looked at photos of my favorite hairstyles in the past, offered some recommendations, then immediately set to work. Barri worked quickly, yet remained conversational and pleasant the entire time. We had a great conversation while my hair was in the foils and the color set. I am really pleased with how natural the highlights look. I would like to thank Barri for her remarkable craftsmanship, and welcome her as a newcomer to Portland. She is a fantastic stylist and great communicator, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a new stylist. I hate to admit that I actually shed a few tears after leaving Bahama Mama's earlier today. I went…read morein for a shellac pedicure and received my worst polish job to date. I literally just picked a hang nail/callused skin off my big toe as I typed this. The polish is uneven near my cuticles, it does not cover the sides of the nails, and there is plenty of polish stuck to the skin around my nails and cuticles. The tech dropped the UV light on my toe nails. I arrived and was greeted by no one. The nail tech asked if I was there for a pedicure and told me to pick a color. I clarified that I was there for shellac, to which the woman replied "oh no." I then waited 25 minutes so that she could run to her house and get the UV light, as she thought I was there for a regular pedi and was not prepared. After waiting 20 minutes, I moved my car because street parking was 1 hour. I confirmed at the desk that I was indeed scheduled for shellac. When she returned, she used the water that she had started with 25 minutes ago, which was then cold. I do not pamper myself very often and was really looking forward to having beautiful toenails. Now I am stuck with a bad polish job and am out $48 (40+20% tip). I am unbelievably disappointed and will most likely go to a different salon later this week to have them redone.

I needed some shaping/trimming to a bob that's growing out. I am not one to fuss about my hair, but it's always a little nerve wracking to try out a new stylist. Silly me, I shouldn't have worried!
