This museum is a must if your into learning the local heritage of the George, it has interesting exhibits that display many different cultural influences of the area. The 2 short films are full of interesting facts and included in admission. Gift shop has some local crafts for sell. Would return again

We chose the interpretive center for our wedding venue because it is beautiful, spacious, and affordable. But the real value was with Rob and the rest of the staff at the museum. They worked with us with graciousness, flexibility, and understanding, and are just great people! Many of our guests actually commented about how genuine and friendly everyone was. There are a lot of moving pieces that need to come together for a wedding and they exceeded my expectations in every way. Thank you again all, you know who you all are! We will always be grateful for your help in creating what truly turned out to be a remarkable event! Cheers

This was a really informative & beautiful museum...small scale but easy to get through in a couple of hours. Was enough history of the Gorge area to appreciate those who came before! Friendly staff.

Great museum with some very cool pieces of history. Don't miss the photo album of Mount St Helens after the explosion on the stair case.

Pretty stoked to have found Bike The Gorge in my search for an e-bike test ride. Riding an electric…read morebike through the glorious Columbia River Gorge has got to be one of the best ways to cover ground while still being able to smell the roses in this awesome area, and BTG had a decent selection of steeds to meet my needs. Their tour offerings look even cooler, with a bunch of different options (varying in duration and destination), but I chose the self guided tour option before coming back to the shop and then doing a separate test ride on a different bike. Their bikes are all fairly new and up to date, well taken care of and prepped, and come with luggage and locks -- and the customer service I got from the friendly woman who greeted me was outstanding. She set me up, explained the bike and the route and gave me a number to call if anything went south. My Aventon Pace was clean, stout and powerful enough to handle any of the grades I came upon, though it was heavier (and heavier steering) then I liked. I was much happier test riding the new Lectric XP4. A nice rig! The shop itself is a pretty basic setup - a large open bay tucked into a nondescript row of metal industrial warehouses on the other side of the train tracks (literally), a bit east of Cascade Locks main drag. It's a small mom and pop operation, which is fine by me -- it always means better service. (BTW, booking a tour or test ride online is super easy, with availability shown in real time. I'll discuss nitpicks with their website down below) The good; -A nice selection of clean and up-to date electric models, from adventure to cargo to trikes. They're all well-maintained and outfitted with luggage and bike locks. -Owners are great; helpful and knowledgeable and ready with info. - You get to ride unbelievably scenic parts of the gorge no matter which direction you go. The shop provides good directions and destinations at a fair price (if you're doing a tour). The bad: - a better variety of bikes would have been nice. Almost all the e-bikes were of the fat tire type; some hybrids or cross bikes would help round out the options, and a more in-depth description (and corresponding photo) of specific models available on the website would be helpful too. Type of bike, features, weight, best-use, etc. But it was still a great day in the Gorge, cruising on an e-bike, and I'd use these guys again.

My friends and decided to visit Portland for the weekend. For some, it was their first time there,…read moreso I wanted to take them around to see the city, eat donuts, and drink beer. Since we had multiple stops and there were 15 of us including 3 toddlers, it would have been a huge hassle to call so many Ubers/Lyfts. Not to mention all the heavy car seats that we would have had to carry with us to each location. My solution: renting a private bus! I reached out to multiple shuttle companies, but Shanghai really stood out to me. Dusty responded almost immediately and was very helpful in providing details about their pricing and buses. While my main goal was really just to safely and efficiently get my group to the various spots, it was a plus that Shanghai's bus also included a karaoke machine. Once we decided on the terms and details, Dusty sent over a contract within the next few days. The morning of our ride, Dusty texted to let me know our bus was on the way. Our driver, Ron, arrived a few minutes early, so by our reservation start time, we were all set to go. He was professional, kind and drove cautiously. As it was raining, I appreciated that he dropped us off as close as he safely could at each location, and then picked us back up when we were ready to continue to the next spot. The cooler was also stocked with ice, as promised. We ended up riding the Solid Gold bus, which is literally a converted school bus. I must admit this was very different from our typical sprinter party bus experience. For one, I had never ridden a party bus with kids before, and blasting "Wheels On The Bus" instead of dance music was such a different vibe. Lol! The bus was unique and had a vintage feel -- very Portland. Given our situation, I actually preferred this over the dark, tinted windows of the sprinters we are used to. The Solid Gold allowed us to see the city during our rides. We got a lot of stares every time we pulled up to a donut shop or brewery, but it was a fun experience. Everyone had a great time, especially the kids who now point out every bus that passes by on the street and say they want to go back to the party bus!

Hood, Mt. Adams, and the idyllic Hood River. Normally a DIY traveler, I can say with complete confidence that the decision to book with MountNbarreL is worth it, whether you are a resident or visitor escaping into the sun-soaked beauty of Hood River wine country. My husband and I took the Original Oak Grove (OG) Tour. Ali, the owner, greeted us with mango kombucha and bottled water and set us up with comfortable, well-tuned cruisers. The bikes are outfitted with deep handlebar baskets to hold any vintage gems you find in the historical Oak Grove Store and clever wine bottle baskets on the back. The route is carefully chosen to be accessible for all levels of cyclists, and if you decide you must have a case of that amazing Viento Riesling, fear not - MountNbarreL's shuttle can pick up purchases on the way so you don't have to take everything with you. The details took this day to the next level. Ali and Sydney bookend the group while cycling so you can enjoy the scenery and views safely. We were pampered with treats throughout, like a charcuterie plate to go with our Italian-style wine tasting at Marchesi and lunch and snacks from Farm Stand in the Gorge (a local cafe and artisanal grocer) while picking blueberries and enjoying a private tour of Phelp's Creek vineyards. What struck me most is that Ali really partners with local wineries and businesses and is an integral part of the Hood River community. This really shows in her deep knowledge of the local wineries, and the warm reception and hand-selected tastings at each stop. I can't imagine a better way to experience Hood River!
