The Comedy Zone in Charlotte turned out to be a great spot to see Craig Ferguson, who you might remember from his run on The Late Late Show how from 2005 to 2014. I had bought these tickets months ago, and it was fun watching the date finally roll around on the calendar, especially since this was the second time I caught him in Charlotte. The early show started just after 6:00, and once we were inside the room felt lively and close‑knit, with those tightly packed four‑top tables angled so everyone gets a decent side view of the stage. Our table was the third one back, which made the sound feel crisp and immediate, and the staff handled drinks and food with that quiet, practiced efficiency that never pulls your attention away from the performer. Mrs K. and I split a lemonade, a light beer and a plate of mozzarella sticks, all delivered without any disruption. Getting there is the only part that feels a little punishing. Parking in this area is far from cheap, and paying $24 for an on‑street spot feels like a lot, especially when you don't see any handicap spaces nearby even after arriving more than an hour early. There are ramps outside for anyone who needs them. Once you're inside, though, the venue is easy to navigate with a simple exit path that leads you out through the Foo Bar arcade. Security was light, just a guy with a wand checking purses, and it even missed the big USB battery in my powered coat. All told, it's a comfortable, well‑run place to see a show, and I'd definitely return. WARNING! Your check probably already includes a 20% gratuity. Great little venue to up close and personal with some amazing comedians. Pay the little extra for the closet seating... you won't regret it! Saw Ryan and the Screen Crush team here with a VIP photo op. Fun evening spent with fellow screengoers. The parking here is difficult if you don't plan ahead for a walk and spending a little change. Once parked, the signage is also a bit hectic in trying to figure out the lay of the land at the NC Music Factory, so do a little research before you come. As gouy near the entire footprint of the venue, the Comedy Zone is located in the first set of buildings downstairs. Once you've made it there, then you're golden to enjoy some fun times. The food comes from the Mexican restaurant upstairs and is moderately priced for what you get in an entertainment venue. Nothing to write home about but not terrible. I can at least speak for the nachos with chicken. The drinks aren't heavy pours but have a good flavor. For a nice spin on a LIT, try the green dragon. The waitstaff visit you throughout the event so you're never in need wondering where they have disappeared to... Unless you're at a magic show and then, I wouldn't want it any other way! read more

We came here to see Tommy Davidson. It was my first time at this venue. We paid for the gold seats, which places you near the stage areas. The regular ticket is for the level above and behind the gold ticket area. I love a good comedy show and so I know I'll be back. The food is mediocre. Typical fries, nachos, chicken tenders, etc. I never understood why comedy places have the worst food. I parked in the outdoor lot at the beginning of the block. I have not been to the comedy zone or even in the area in many many years. One thing that has changed is parking, last I went it was totally free. Now it's a paid parking lot right beside it, if you aren't lucky enough to get in there or find some paid street parking, be prepared for a short walk because the next parking area is around the curb near the Fillmore. They only have bottled waters and drinks are expensive. Whole menu isn't exactly cheap and portions are the biggest. I honestly would suggest not going there starving expecting a full meal to fill you up. But if you enjoy just having something to nibble on while enjoying the show it's perfect. I went with a group of ladies to a midday show, I didn't find the comedian funny at all but it was a great time to have experienced just hanging out with the ladies. read more

This is a staple in the comedy realm of Charlotte. Some of the biggest names in comedy have graced this stage. They have awesome staff, and amazing security. The food is delicious as well. The auditorium is made for you to meet new friends, and celebrate with your family. It seats about 400 people. First time to the comedy zone last night for a date night, bought tickets from a 3rd party app (so this could explain why this happened) Upon arriving - nice atmosphere, clean & friendly. The host seated us at a (small) table with 4 others since it was a sold out show. We were confused & uncomfortable & shocked just like the family we sat down with. The family asked to be seated somewhere else. they were luckily able to accomodate moving us instead, since we were the smaller party. Thank you so much to Cynthia for handling it with efficiency & grace because we didn't want to become "those" people making problems. All of our servers were great. We just wish there had been a warning on the ticket sales that there's a possibility of sitting with people not in your party. This is not the staffs fault. Another way we wished this scenario had played out was for the host to have mentioned it before we walked to the table and experienced the awkward tension for everyone involved. We traveled here from Columbia, SC for the Funny Marco show. Compared to other comedy venues, the seating is first come first served out of two pricing options available. The seating area is really tight and can be uncomfortable. The viewing of the stage can also be difficult at times. The service was subpar. Our waitress seemed to be overwhelmed. We ordered drinks and foods. The drinks came out in a reasonably time. However, it took almost 2 hours to receive our food. We were told the food items are prepared at a nearby restaurant and apparently our order was never processed. We finally received our order but was missing wings that were replaced with a second order of fries. The food was not tasty or appealing. Because of the mishap, we were compensated for the food. The parking is not the best as the venue is located in an area near bars and restaurants. Be prepared to walk. The restrooms were clean. I doubt I would visit this venue again. read more

just felt I should send an email although it's probably not going to matter to you anyway but I just wanted to let you know that I was very extremely disappointed in the show last night at the comedy zone in Charlotte North Carolina. I paid for gold circle tickets so that I can go and see Eddie Griffin and enjoy the show but it didn't not turn out that way. For whatever unknown reason Eddie was very rude to me he basically utilized more than half of his show time on stage to insult me and more and for him to do something like that says a whole lot about his character which is very nasty disgusting and ignorant. Instead of him being nice and courteous to people that attend his show and pay good money to come and see him for their evening to be ruined because of his ignorance and disrespect and no I will not let this go because I was very disappointed they escorted me and my company out for no reason whatsoever because I see that he felt like I was going to upstage him. When we got there they had us sitting in the back corner behind a pole (and we got there 30 min early). The manager could care less and tried to say "This IS VIP!". I've been here several times now and it's a cool vibe. It's a lot bigger inside than you'd expect walking in. I really like this venue because it's such an intimate setting. No matter where you sit you're pretty close to some famous folks and I love that. It reminds me of the Fillmore but way more chill. The food is pretty basic, like bar food, but it hits the spot. Same with the drinks and everything is affordable. I have to give a special shout out to the servers here. They're always so fast, friendly and helpful. And this place is big so they are working really hard to serve everyone there. If you've never gone to see a show here I highly recommend it. Most of the shows are also pretty fairly priced. This was my first time coming to The Comedy Zone in Charlotte. I came to see Luenell, who is absolutely amazing. The space is a lot bigger, but the photo rules, cleanliness, attentive staff, and prices are the same as here in Greensboro. Don't worry, that's a good thing. I loved my seating. Although we were there early, we were a bit further from stage than I initially expected. Turned out to be a good thing. One, it did not affect my line of sight at all. Two, the tables in the pit were way too close. It looked as if the patrons were on top of one another. While waiting for the show to start, I did order some fries. They were cooked kind of hard, but managed to taste like McDs with a little less salt. The venue is right next to a few restaurants/bars, so you have options. I enjoyed myself in this district and at this venue. It will not be the last time I visit. read more

The Comedy Zone is always a good way to spend an evening. After visiting the club several times there are some blaring things that I've learned. The club often does not open at the described door time. For example, on my last visit door time was 8:45 for a 9pm show. The doors did not open til 9 and the show started even later at 9:45. Seating was packed to the brim. While intimate is encouraged this was cramped and my and my guest ultimately sat shoulder to shoulder with another pairing and was forced to share a table with no space for any of the food that was ordered. The service while nice definitely tainted the night. We ordered drinks that arrived 45 mins later and did not even get the opportunity for refills to a second round. The food service was quite the same. While the menu is basic they were not capable of handling the volume of orders closing the kitchen leaving many without the opportunity for food. Our food which was ordered while seating at the same time as drinks did not arrive til a good ways through the headliner and an hour and a half after ordering. It was fresh, hot , and correct. By that time I was starving. The club has the opportunity to be great but some operational things need to be worked out. read more

After finding the location we were surprised by how big the spot is. The show was great just what we were looking for. The food was better than expected which is always a plus. Our server was great and polite, but one thing we weren't made aware of was the price of the "bucket deal" which seems to just be the price of 5 drinks. The place is big but they pack it in so tables are close to each other. Great selection of drinks for all taste. Food was also good. I spent the evening with friends at the Comedy Zone on Music Factory Boulevard in Charlotte. It's a fantastic venue with plenty of space, ideal for comedy shows. Jess Hilarious was performing tonight, and she was incredibly funny. The venue offers a variety of small plate options such as wings, pretzel bites, guacamole with chips, and French fries, along with a selection of drinks. Let me start by saying we love the Comedy Zone here in charlotte however this past weekend we went to the venue to purchase tickets for July 25th, and get this the tickets were $35 each which was not an issue but they take on fee's which made the total $92 for 2 tickets that should have been ONLY $70 plus tax so maybe $76 at best. WHY are they charging fee's when we came in person to purchase the tickets which they send to you via email, they aren't even paying for paper to print the tickets so to charge almost another $20 in processing fee's is absurd. With the current economy buying tickets for a comedy show is a treat but to be robbed of an extra $20 really leaves a bad taste in our mouth which isn't funny at all. read more

When I got to comedy zone it was a little difficult to find as the sign was smaller and far back on the building. Once we walked in the front door there was someone to scan our tickets and they quickly showed us to our seats. There was no security visible and metal detectors were not used which made me a bit uneasy due to the number of people there and the likelihood that most people would be drinking. Walking through the main area, it looked like no matter where you were seated you would have a good view of the stage. The bathrooms were clearly marked and very clean. We ordered a few drinks as well as a plate of nachos. The food was good, drinks were cold, but the mixed drinks seemed to be on the smaller side. Towards the end of the night someone pointed out on the menu, I'm very small font, it says they automatically add an 18% gratuity to every tip. This practice isn't a big deal to me, I just think it's dishonest and sneaky when they appear to try to hide it but put it somewhere so that they are covering themselves for when someone inevitably complains. Once I got the final bill, even with the automatic gratuity added, it seemed a lot higher than I was expecting especially for what we had ordered. Overall I liked the venue and would come back again, but I would probably make sure I don't come hungry and don't expect to drink too much to avoid the steep prices. read more

Second time at The Comedy Zone. My cheeks hurt from laughing at the comedian my friend and I went to see, and our seats were great. If you're a party of 2 going in, expect to be seated with 2 other people, as they use shared seating. It's a bit of a tight fit once everyone is seated, so if you have to use the restroom during the show, expect to interrupt others experience because they will have to move to let you out. Food menu was not a lot to chose from and prices are a bit high for me for what you get. $12 for a half glass of wine and the chicken nachos had no flavor, the queso was watery and they left off a few items listed on the menu. The venue is very outdated, you have to climb several flights of stairs to enter, and be taken to the "front desk" in which someone flips through a printout to find your reservation, and tells you your table number?! I suppose that it is customary to walk throughout the room to find your table. As luck had it.... someone graciously walked us to our VIP table that was literally at / on the wall and we got to see the side & back of the performers. A couple seated before us decided that they would move their table very close to the wall and is where they should have sit because our knees were almost touching , and both tables were leaning opposite of the wall and the 2-3 feet of empty space where their table should have been. Needless to say, there was nothing VIP about our seating. As a matter of fact , no bigger than the venue is, regular seating was probably better than what I paid extra for. In addition to the NOT VIP seating, the opener (local "comedian") was not even close to funny, he was rude, very rude to patrons sitting at the stage. The group was called out for being intoxicated.... well, duhhh!!! They were served there and then ridiculed in front of the entire audience. Clearly, the group did not get out much so instead of worrying about liquor sales, why not think about the other customers and the performers PRIOR to over serving them. The waitstaff seemingly were busy; however, it took 15+ minutes for my table to get greeted, and an additional 35 minutes to get 2 drinks and the server to tell us that she "forgot" to put our order in and the kitchen was then closed. By the looks of the place, I cannot imagine the kitchen so I am chalking that one up to a dodged bullet. The servers darted through the crowed as if their pants were on fire but rarely had anything in their hands until the end. Then, they graciously brought a very overinflated ticket with added gratuity - there was 2 of us at our table, I have never heard of adding gratuity on a 2 person table, and as bad as the service was , she would have gotten a better tip , had that been my choice but she chose to add her tip and shorted herself. No one there has an ounce of professionalism, one server's hair looked like she stuck her hand in a light socket & wore a sports bra and possibly yoga pants , the other servers seemed a little more put together but there was zero direction / management in that place. It was like a general admission show at a fairground, you saw the servers running around but not a lot of drinks / food being delivered. It did not appear that anyone had actual sections and if they did , they need additional servers and / or more experienced ones. Again, the "opening comedian" was not funny at all and was an ass to paying customers. I do not think one person laughed the entire time he was up there, and if they did , it was because it was prompted, The second guy , the real opener , was pretty funny but at that point had caught on to the vibe of the rest of the staff to ugly talk the stage people in which got over served there, laughing with someone is expected at a comedy show but if I were those people, which I am sure got charged significantly, you would probably be hearing from my lawyer on Monday, and rightfully so. I suppose this venue is hanging onto the skirt strings of The Comedy Zone's name and reputation , and luckily the headliner , John Campenelli , came in like a lamb but went out like a lion, his performance is the only thing that masque the lack of VIP seating that was paid for, sitting for almost an hour before getting our first and only drink, the "opener" for the opener and main event, the flights of stairs we hiked up to , just to watch an unmanaged group of individuals that clearly were doing what they wanted and how they wanted, while wearing what they wanted, and with no direction. I am surprised that John Capenelli was at this venue, and doubt him or any other headliners would come back a 2nd time. For a good show you could look over the outdated accommodations in exchange for great customer service but that was not the case. There are plenty of things to do in Greenville, SC , I would not waste my time or money on the Comedy Zone in Greenville, SC until they have announced a revamp , new management, a kitchen that actually serves while open, and employees that are there to ensure your experience is at minimum what you paid for. Now, if you want to feel like you're at the county fair or in Bubba's back yard and watch a rat race with no finish line, that's your place. read more

I had a very long week so I decided to accompany a friend to the Comedy Zone for some laughs. Well the location is an underground location that almost seems like you're being sent off to a basement punishment. You're herded downstairs like cattle as they check your tickets and send you inside to a tight cramped dim-lit ltable with a few other strangers. The comic was good so we didn't think about the cramped overstuffed seats until someone needed to get by or someone stood up and blocked our view. The Comedy zone is in a great location, but they need to consider making it more comfortable and appealing. read more

We came here recently to see TJ Miller. I had never been before, but overall it was a good experience. The entrance is at the back of the restaurant La Revolucion. It's a weird experience to walk through the middle of a restaurant to get to where you're trying to go. You just give them your last name and then they show you to your table. The seating at the tables is pretty tight. They have food and drinks available. We got a basket of fries which was decent. About what you would expect. They only have bottled water which costs $2.50 (annoying). There are definitely some rude people in the crowd that talk loudly during the show. That's not really the fault of the venue though. It's not a fancy venue, but it's good enough for a small local place. I'd come back if there was something I wanted to see. read more

I usually love the Comedy Zone, but be careful if you go when they're doing a taping of some kind. The outside staff was so rude and screaming at people in line. They made us lock up our phone 20 mins before the doors even opened to go inside, and that's almost 2 hours before the show even started. When we found out, they made us shutdown our phones immediately, and when I asked if I could text someone from my party who hadn't arrived to let them know they won't be able to reach me and where we were standing, they responded with "can you not hear? Do you want to go inside or not?". I understand a taping is important, but you shouldn't disrespect and belittle paying customers, especially ones that are loyal, repeat customers. read more
