Great show and incredibly high energy. My hats off to these performers! Quick whittled and funny! Very simple yet professional production. Great job!

Improv class at CCT is amazing! Keli is a gem of an instructor and mentor; she's also wildly hilarious. She has 20 years of improv experience and learned with the greats in Chicago. I feel so embraced at CCT - it's the community I've been longing for! What I love best about improv is the trust and friendships cultivated in the class. I see the positive impact improv is having on my life - I'm more relaxed, confident, and trusting. I also haven't laughed this much in a long time and it feels great!

There really is SO much you need to know about this place they don't tell you on their web OR if…read moreyou call to ask questions. Primarily, that is this club offers the opportunity to enjoy a meal and bar beverages during the show. They did reference 'the food/drink' minimum but they don't tell what that means. Which is you must order food and drinks, two each per person. IF you order off the menu, the 'the minimum' sill applies. They give you the option of General Admission or Reserved Seating and there is about a $10 price difference but no advantage as far as your table location or proximity to the stage. When you reach the top of the stairs, check in with host desk, they scan your tix and seat you. You are not asked where you want to be seated, they put you where they want you, even if it's Reserved seating which is about $45.00. More than likely you'll be seated at a table with other people. They have an FAQ page which I highly recommend you read, otherwise you'll be blindsided and surprised but a lot of stuff. We went on a Friday and there was one show starting at 7p. They open the doors at 6p and then the host begins seating people as they enter. I noticed it's a fairly large 'L' shaped room so if you're seated at tables just as you enter, you'll be looking at the 'side' of the stage and you won't see the tables to the right but you will hear the people laughing. It's confusing because if you DON'T know the above and you want to have a meal before the show, you might think you NEED to dine in the downstairs restaurant/bar area. The difference is the menu in the Comedy club is somewhat limited though it is more than appetizers. Michelle had the chicken fajita nachos which were enormous. I had a wedge salad with grilled salmon which was very good. The service was outstanding and I never had to worry about the wait staff coming by with re-fills. We were there to see Leah Ruddick who was very funny. It turns out she was the initial performer at the first show. There were two comedians going on before Leah. The one dude who also acted as MC wearing a sparkly jacket made it clear right away he was gay. His ENTIRE routine was going into the details about 'gay life'. A lot of profanity and a lot of TMI. I didn't find it funny or entertaining learning about deviant behavior. The next act was a black lady named Kandy Kaine. Again, a lot of profanity. Turns out she is a 3rd grade special ed teacher in public schools. Her deal was talking about the challenges of her students and essentially making fun of them. There was also a bit where she asked if there were any Christians in he audience. A few raised their hand and she proceeded to ask they give her names of 'gangasta' bible characters. The first guy yells 'judas' and all her jokes were making fun of his betrayal of Jesus but Judas. Again, for me not funny or entertaining. I had seen several youtube clips of Leah before hand. She portrays a character 'the wealthy lady'. She files around the US in her 'PJ', private jet. She talks about her 13 ex husbands and her attraction to men with tiny fingers. You need to know that parking can be an issue. There is currently construction going on and there are detours, in addition there are multiple one-way streets. You must be intentional on what street you enter if you want to park in a garage. Otherwise there maybe random street parking available.

It was a nice intimate show with great food and drink though. You walk into Duckworths, and you have 4 completely different options. To the right is the big bar, to the left is restaurant seating, downstairs is the absolutely amazing cellar and then there is the comedy club upstairs. There's maybe like 15 tables? All were filled except for one when I was there. If you don't frequent comedy clubs, you should know some have some interesting rules that you need to know. They have a 2 drink/eat minimum per person here, I'm not sure what the fee is if you don't meet that. Because of them expecting that income, if you don't show up on time, they reserve the right to sell your table to someone else and I don't think you get a refund. I'm not sure about that. Our beers were cold, our drinks were good, and the food came out quickly and warm. We were there for the show though and that was phenomenal. I double I'll see her in such a small venue again.

The Comedy Zone in Charlotte turned out to be a great spot to see Craig Ferguson, who you might…read moreremember from his run on The Late Late Show how from 2005 to 2014. I had bought these tickets months ago, and it was fun watching the date finally roll around on the calendar, especially since this was the second time I caught him in Charlotte. The early show started just after 6:00, and once we were inside the room felt lively and close‑knit, with those tightly packed four‑top tables angled so everyone gets a decent side view of the stage. Our table was the third one back, which made the sound feel crisp and immediate, and the staff handled drinks and food with that quiet, practiced efficiency that never pulls your attention away from the performer. Mrs K. and I split a lemonade, a light beer and a plate of mozzarella sticks, all delivered without any disruption. Getting there is the only part that feels a little punishing. Parking in this area is far from cheap, and paying $24 for an on‑street spot feels like a lot, especially when you don't see any handicap spaces nearby even after arriving more than an hour early. There are ramps outside for anyone who needs them. Once you're inside, though, the venue is easy to navigate with a simple exit path that leads you out through the Foo Bar arcade. Security was light, just a guy with a wand checking purses, and it even missed the big USB battery in my powered coat. All told, it's a comfortable, well‑run place to see a show, and I'd definitely return. WARNING! Your check probably already includes a 20% gratuity. You might not be able to read it that well in the low light of the venue. So yeah, our waitress got a 45% tip. [Review 156 of 2026 - 4546 in North Carolina - 25346 overall]

Saw Ryan and the Screen Crush team here with a VIP photo op. Fun evening spent with fellow screengoers. The parking here is difficult if you don't plan ahead for a walk and spending a little change. Once parked, the signage is also a bit hectic in trying to figure out the lay of the land at the NC Music Factory, so do a little research before you come. As gouy near the entire footprint of the venue, the Comedy Zone is located in the first set of buildings downstairs. Once you've made it there, then you're golden to enjoy some fun times. The food comes from the Mexican restaurant upstairs and is moderately priced for what you get in an entertainment venue. Nothing to write home about but not terrible. I can at least speak for the nachos with chicken. The drinks aren't heavy pours but have a good flavor. For a nice spin on a LIT, try the green dragon. The waitstaff visit you throughout the event so you're never in need wondering where they have disappeared to... Unless you're at a magic show and then, I wouldn't want it any other way!
