I went to the Comedy Zone yesterday for Craig Ferguson! We had a great table and excellent service. Every time my drink was empty, I had another one. They served us delicious hot fries and churros. We even had our check paid and we're able to leave at the end of the set without any trouble, like a fine tuned service machine! It was a really fun experience and I look forward to finding another comedy act so I can go back and enjoy this venue again. read more

Went to see The liberal redneck and his sidekicks for my birthday with my wife on a chilly night. When we got there I wanted an Irish coffee which they did not have so that was strike one. Since I couldn't get an Irish coffee I settled for an Angry Orchard to drink and my wife had a glass of Merlot. We decided to split the carne asada fries before the show started. The fires were hot and crispy and the steak and queso cheese was tasty and plentiful. We were about halfway through the plate when the show started and they turned out the lights and it was dark enough that I couldn't see anything so the rest of the plate went to waste. This has always been one of our favorite places for a date night. We have seen many shows in the last 13 years at the comedy zone. They need to add hot beverages to the menu and they will instantly be rated a 5. Nuff said. read more

We had a good night watching Nimesh Patel. The second comedian was freaking hilarious (I just wish I knew her name). I will say my wife and I go to comedy clubs all the time in Dallas/Fort Worth where we live and this is the first time I've ever been to a comedy club where security has you empty your pockets and wand you like they are auditioning to join the TSA. Made me wonder what was going on in CLT. I've never felt unsafe my entire stay, but this brought us back to reality. read more

I've been here for several shows and each show has been fantastic. My issue is the wait staff. We have had the same server the past few times and she is always very unfriendly and not in the mood to serve you. I think it's crazy for them to charge for water especially when you are ordering alcoholic drinks. Someone got a sprite and it was $6! It wasn't even a can or bottle but a fountain drink. We also ordered food and the food was incorrect. We tried to tell the food runner when he dropped off the food but he just look at us behind his back and walked off. It took forever for our actual server to get there to tell her the issue. Overall, the shows are great. I just don't recommend getting the food. read more

Went and saw Don DC Curry this past weekend (Jan 20, 2019) with a large group because it was my sister's birthday. We booked tables before hand and was able to choose where we wanted our group to sit. We sat in the very front. The opening act was funny! He kept us engaged, was relatable to everyone, and had clever and creative jokes. He's a keeper! I didn't get his name. I have to do better with this. Just living in the moment. Our food orders and drinks were flowing efficiently and swift! If you raised your neon sign, a waitress or waiter would immediately come to your table. I like this concept of a waiter/ess being assigned to certain tables all night. Makes things very personable. Don DC Curry was funny! When he first came out, I think he was definitely feeling his liquor. I mean, no judgement zone here! After 2 mins of opening, he found his zone and the rest is history! His comedy touched on alot of things relevant and prevalent in what is going on in the world today. People need to understand that they must have an open mind when attending comedy shows. That's why we attend these events, to laugh, see a new perspective or respect it. Our party laughed all night and we were a mixed raced group. We enjoyed the entire night! KERWIN HAD AN AMAZING SHOW TONIGHT!! However, I am giving this place a one star because our server LIA. B was rude AF. I sent our drinks back because they tasted like straight sour mix and kool-aid. Then I was charged for sending the drinks back, and it was added to my gratuity. It's not my fault that the bartender can't make drinks, and if you're paying $15.00 for 1 drink, you would like to taste some alcohol. Lia kept coming back to the table asking for me to pay the check, I guess because I'm BLACK, she thought I was going to leave without paying. I already told her I was paying the check! One complaint. Overall positive experience. Waitstaff was very attentive, and timing was impressive - especially since it was 400 people all entering at once. Was concerned about viewing the stage, but all tables had good views. Comedians were solid. Plenty of parking options, and different prices. Signage wasn't clear, so didn't know which of the multiple buildings to get to, but asked parking staff and they directed us well. FYI, it's the lower level of one building. Negative: 20% tip included on paper bill, no problem with that. What was NOT clear was scanning the QR code brought up the total amount (sub+tip), and it asked for a tip AGAIN. Ending up tipping 40% instead of 20, not fighting it, the staff worked their tails off. Just the QR should've either NOT asked for a tip again, or shown all pieces of the price. read more

This place is located in the music factory. You can enter from the street or you can enter from la Revolucion. They have two parking lots nearby in a valet area in the circle cut shaped area in the front. They have photos of several of the comedians who have come in they have signed their photos on the wall along with the posters of the upcoming shows and events. It's very dark and it's in the basement area. There are several seats the food reminds me of movie theater offerings. So I skipped on ordering food and got a drink. My kettle one drink was OK. The show I went to was good. I could see and hear the comedian very well. However there were people who sit behind us to head to walk through a tight space to get to their seats so not all the seats were created equal. I was watching Bring the Funny on Hulu and noticed that one of the competing comedians was performing here on NYE. Since I didn't have previous plans, I decided to buy a ticket. Price was reasonable ($25-$30 depending on where you wanted to sit). It's also connected to the Mexican restaurant upstairs so if you have time to kill before or after, it's conveniently located and you don't have to go back outside. As others have mentioned, shows don't always start on time. The previous show must have closed up late so We weren't let in until about 10PM or so but not a huge deal. For will call, you give your name, they look you up on their list, and some one brings you to your table. For NYE, they also had a Dessert special they were offering (a sampler of all 3 desserts for $7.50 which was nice) It looked like our show was packed which was great. Multiple comedians took the stage (5 total, I think, including the headliner) and they were all great. There was a table nearby that talked the whole time which was annoying. After the show ended, all the comedians were out front to shake hands and take pictures which I thought was great! If I lived in the area, I'd definitely make another visit to the Comedy Zone! read more

Small but effective. Table tops are for a party of 4. There's a menu and they are on the tables to figure out what you want. They have a great amount of variety. I paid like $10 and saw 6 comedians with Ryan Davis as the Host/MC. Only 1 bombed and 1 fell short but he started roasting the audience member that was heckling him so he made a good turn around. This was a 2 hour show that started, ON TIME, as advertised. That, I can respect. These were up and coming acts. I missed Bill Burr and Michael Blackson so I signed up to get text alerts. They don't send a lot. You can Will-Call. They charge taxes on tickets. I guess everyone in the nation does, nowadays. Not too many tables aren't good seats. I purchased the tickets using this app which threw me off a bit and I had to hit the back browser a few times. So when I finalized it, I realized that it was for the 9pm show instead of 7pm. I thought to myself "crap" right!!? Nope! I made a quick call and it was fixed faster than I could have imagined! The rep completely understood and was willing to help ... that's priceless. We didn't have to wait long at all to be seated and our server came over to greet us quickly. She was very attentive throughout the show to the entire table. The show itself was hilarious. The opening acts had us dying laughing so when Branden Schaub came out, we knew he was going to kill it! And he did not disappoint. The place was easy to find, easy entrance and easy exit. I have been to the comedy zone many times and I always have a great time. The comics are funny and it was a great vibe. They open their doors early and we have to stand in line to get seated. Once we made it to the front their was an escort to help us to out table. Most of The tables sit 4 people to a table. I went with my boyfriend and they sat two other people at the table with us. Be mindful of that when you are reserving your seats. But that didn't bother us because we we were watching the show. The food here was good as well. They have a variety of finger foods to selection from to name a few mozzarella sticks, wings, fries etc. They normally sell mixed drinks but when we went they were only serving beer and wine. They had notes on the door to communicate that information to their customers which was helpful. I sign up for there email list and I get all of the updates of who is coming to town and I'm able to get tickets online and order. This place is one of my favorites and I will be returning for more shows. read more

For comedy--the shows were awesome! We laughed the entire time. Justin Silver was our favorite the night we went. The area has so many other things to to before or after the show. Our waitress was very sweet. The food was ok. I had the nachos and my husband had the wings (dry rub with the sides of sauces were his recommendation). Good spot for live comedy while we were traveling in Charlotte. Awesome setup and stage. Ambiance is good, it's dark with ample light to be able to move around while someone is on stage. I've been here a couple of times. The comedians I have seen have all been funny. The prices for entry are very reasonable. Drink prices are steep, but I feel that is to be expected given the cheaper door prices. It makes comedy affordable for just about anyone. I like this about the venue. Let's be real, parking here is a nightmare so if you can uber I recommend it. Comedy zone publishes their schedule in advance and you can buy tickets easily online. Like all places there are fees added onto each ticket. I've been here multiple times for different shows. When ordering your ticket you pick a table. This is nice because you can order drinks or food during the show. They have a process where you just raise a yellow card in this plastic holder on your table so the waiter/waitress knows to head your way. This is so convenient because you should be too busy laughing to want to get up! You can sign up for text offers for last minute comedy show deals. read more

Saw Joel McHale at the Comedy Zone on February 1st & was not disappointed! He's hilarious! We were seated very close to the stage at a 4 top table & it was nice being so close. I didn't have to pay more to get the seats, we just had to order early. However, I was surprised that the downstairs location was so big. I didn't remember noticing so many tables on the seating chart when I ordered tickets & was a little overwhelmed by the size of the audience. Plus, when I ordered tickets, there was only 1 show offered initially, the 9:00 show. We later found the was an earlier show around 7 & would have preferred that option, but figured it was offered after the late show sold out. I wish we had been allowed to take pictures during the show, but we understood not everyone was respectful of the no flash rule. Perhaps we'll return to The Comedy Zone one day! read more

They had some 1st few person to respond with the answer to some question thingy going on andddddd I responded. (W/ the right answer.. duh.. you DO see my Nickname...RIGHT???? RIGHT!!!!!!! lol) Anyway, I won 2 tickets to the show last night. (Co creator of The Chappell Show) He was pretty funny. They had about 4-6 opening acts (rookies). One of them was TOO FUNNY calling one of the ladies that sat in front "Whitney Houston's Mom" (yeah it doesn't seem as funny now... but hey, i'm writing a review, guess you had to be there)... see photo. It is pretty big inside the place. Once you walk through "The Saloon at The NC Music Factory" and down the steps. (I kept thinking maybe this is where Jimmy Hoffa is or maybe Tupac) They have a menu for food and drinks. The FOOD (Wings and Fries) was pretty good. I'm a Fry-guy and these fries were the natural cut kind. They were a little weak. Good but not great. The PRICES was pretty good as well. (about 6 bucks for a Jim & Coke etc... 7 bucks for glass of Wine) The SERVICE is kinda like "Bubba Gumps" where you pull up a card that kinda tells them to STOP by your table. I kinda liked that. I get annoyed when they just keep walking past asking if you are ok. The PARKING is limited. The ENTRANCE is kinda wierd. If you walking along the sidewalk where the parking lot is on the right. Its an ENTRANCE that takes you to Comedy Zone instead of walking around the building and through the Bar. Went here to see Kountry Wayne. The place literally looks like a basement with table and chairs. You could not go in the main entrance but had to walk through the restaurant next door to get in. Even the comedians were talking about the setup looking like a basement. Everyone is seated kinda close to each other and of course they sit you next to whoever got a ticket for that chair. So while it can be you and three of your friends at a table a fourth strangers can come and sit with y'all. I didn't order any food but the one mixed drink I had was decent. It was $12.00. I enjoyed the comedy show. I would go here again. read more

Our first time here and the first thing you notice is limited parking. You have to park on the street and we did walk a bit.. The other thing I certainly did not like was a "VIP" entrance leading into the club. Really????? You seriously have to make your "regular" patrons walk all the way around to the other side, through the LOUD bar??? Why? I paid for premium seats so why didn't that include this magical entrance? I truly think that you should get rid of this, because it is comical for sure. We were seated promptly with great seats I had chosen right in front of the stage, and hubby and I first commented that the tables weren't as close together as other clubs we go to. It was spread out and larger for sure. The waitress promptly greeted us and the people that sat at our table ordered food, which looked very appetizing. Hubby would have liked to have had a non alcoholic beer or drink but they don't have any. Another great suggestion for the management to consider. The comedians were top notch, and the best part was getting to meet them and having our picture taken with them after the show. I had been wanting to check out The Comedy Zone for a while now and I finally came to see The Beards of Comedy on a weeknight. Where I really dig the layout and format of the interior, there are just a few things that gave a lackluster feel. The fact that they don't serve/allow tap water in a glass is just stupid. I'm not really amped on ordering food, beer, and cocktails since we just paid for tickets and had dinner elsewhere, so paying for a $2 bottle of water (really??) isn't high on my to-do list. Not a big deal in the end, but it's more of a hassle than not drinking anything at all throughout the show. The entrance is still kind of bizarre to me. They built that ramp down to the nearest exterior door but don't utilize it as the main entrance. You still have to walk through The Saloon, get dirty looks from the bar staff, and then walk down the stairs. Meh. I'm not too thrilled about it. At the end of the night, it's a killer comedy club. Hiccups are minor and don't detract from the evening that is yet to be had. Don't sweat it. I'm really looking forward to coming back for another show soon. More improve, please! read more

We went to see a show here recently, and the room was packed. I liked the atmosphere, and the show was incredible. However, two things were horribly done, and one poorly done. There was no signage as to where you actually went to get down to the Comedy Zone itself from the Mexican restaurant there. The line wrapped around the bar by the time we found it, but there were no signs anywhere. Second, it took *forever* to get out of the room. Presumably this was due to people stopping and seeing the comedians on the way out, but it seems like this could have been organized better to not take 45 min to get out of there. Lastly, the mixed drinks here were expensive and TERRIBLE. My girlfriend and I got two different drinks, both tried each, then left them alone as they were undrinkable. Not a great deal. read more

We had a wonderful time here! We had VIP seats for the 9pm show to see Carlos Mencia. Well I can tell you that the late show didn't start until 10:30 because the first one went over. Once inside I saw why. Mencia has the mind of a comic genius and the show just went on and on. Our tickets were for an hour long show. We started at 10:30 and were still laughing at him around 1:15am. He then stayed around to take photos with everyone who got into line, joking with each and every last person. The comedy zone kept on keepin' on and serving the tables like champs. The drinks are pretty good there and while the appetizers look decent (typical club finger food with a few entrees thrown in) we never tried any of them. This is great venue to see a show small enough to be intimate and large enough to be a big crowd. The best comedy club in all of NC. read more

How can I just get there and get my food, and the people we were sitting with it took over 30 minutes to get the same dish and they ordered it before we sat down. Then had some excuse about the cooks didn't hear them. Its worst when you see other people get there food that also just got there as well. I really enjoy coming to this location.. You get to see all of your favorite comedians at a fairly good price. Ordered it ahead and pick it up at Will Call! I probably been at this location like 5x. And the staffs have alway been helpful and caring. It can get a bit overwhelming for them with sooo many ppl ordering and served at the same time.. and they managed to move around without disturbing people's view.
