I've been to many comic book stores and this is by far the best store I've come across. The store owner Chris is so friendly and helpful, along with his staff. The store is beautiful. The owner, on the other hand, is shady. I went in for the advertised 40% off everything sale. When asking for prices, on Magic the Gathering singles, I used the same app to check prices that he did, but he quoted prices that were arbitrarily high so that the the 40% off worked out to slightly above average prices. I requested the price of a sealed booster box. These are roughly 100 dollars at every store and online. Again, he told me it was 100 dollars after the discount was applied. Either he was being deceitful, or they charge 170 dollars a box. Both of which are not okay. It does not matter, I will not return. read more

This store is one of my favorite spots in Greensboro. I play monopoly with my dad here all the time and love the friendly and comfortable environment, especially the office-quality chairs. I also play Magic the Gathering and am able to pick up singles/packs while I'm there. The manager really likes pets, too, which is awesome. Thanks for making this a great place to play! read more

We are in the process of moving to the area. Of course one of the first things we did was check out the local board game spots! When we walked in Chris(the owner) immediately came up to greet us and tell us about the place. He was super welcoming and fun and seem as excited to meet us as we were to find an awesome game place! The joint itself is rad, from the cool colorful carpet, the nice tables and chairs for gaming and the retro arcade room that looks like you walked into the movie tron! Even the bathroom is fun! Lol! I play boardgames here 2 days a week and my husband plays magic 1 night a week. so many good things to say. 1. the store looks AMAZING. green lights, a huge hulk by the front door, and the tables and chairs Chris put in are top notch. (my standards for a game store are high now that I've been coming here!) 2. Chris, the owner, is super nice! He plays boardgames with us, he has ordered games for me when I ask, even if he usually doesn't carry it. Everyone from the staff to the other patrons are friendly here! They have multiple magic the gathering game nights a week and a large selection of magic the gathering cards, board games, and of course comics. There are seats available to play magic or look through over stock boxes and if you want to you can buy a snack or drink as well. The Comic Dimension undoubtedly has the friendliest employees of any store I've ever visited. I drop by there from time to time, usually just before the holidays, looking for things to buy my sons. And every time, I'm always greeted by such nice employees. They go out of their way to speak to me, and will sometimes invite me to join a game in progress, or to otherwise view a game I may be interested in. And it's all done without the least bit of pushiness or pressure. The employees seem happy, and everyone playing the board games seem like they are having a great time. Nothing but good vibes about this place. The Comic Dimension has much to offer, but if you've not seen its Hulk statue, you really ought to take a special trip there just to see it. I think I was told it is true-to-size (as in, how big the Hulk is in proportion to us) - so it freaking towers. It is massive, and scary, with that super-pissed Hulk expression. Every time I look at that statue, I can't help but think what a bad day it would be if he was coming to kick my butt. A fun store, with great employees. It is always nice to be there. I played in the Kaladesh prerelease here and had a great experience. I hadn't played in a tourney in many years but my son and his best friend wanted to try their first tourney so I joined them. The other players were all fun and had great attitudes., as did the staff. read more

When I lived in Florida I had a business trip here. And it just popped back up on my Yelp. I found this business through Yelp. I was bored and love comics so it was a great shop to visit! I enjoyed their selection as a marvel fan they have a lot to offer! Nice place definitely stop by when you get a chance. Next time I am in the area I will stop by. read more

I'll be upfront, I can't speak to the comic book aspect of this business, but as a fnm spot and general magic shop, I can attest to their incompetence. Card pricing is set at a HARD and NON NEGOTIABLE TCG Median, a pricing that tcg no longer even uses as their basis of overall displayed card value (it switched to marketplace pricing months ago, which typically marks a card at a lower, more accurate value based on sell numbers at price points rather than factoring in market outliers like some idiot that randomly posts a common up for sale at $10,000 for a laugh). The entire concept of a magic shop is only valid when they buy in card singles at a hard 40% non store credit 60% store credit of singles value, then undercut online dealers with their own prices. Why buy from comic dimension when you can literally buy the cards cheaper on the very website they use to set their own prices? On top of a literally nonsensical business model, the person currently running their magic events regularly botches draft pairings and typically responds rudely to critique. Fnm is REGULARLY ran poorly, with only 4 rounds in spite of the large attendance numbers, and the fnm regularly running up to midnight due to poor time keeping. The only reason I can imagine the responsibility of these events has now fallen to an idiot is that they refuse to hire a guy for actual bottom dollar minimum wage and have lost multiple volunteers who were led to believe helping the owner out with events on an volunteer basis would eventually lead to a permanent job. Of course, this never worked out for any of them. Most of the serious fnm crowd in Greensboro now drives all the way out to Gaming Underground ever since Luckys close down in early December of last year, having long since recognized Comic Dimension as a last resort magic shop, only coming in when the owner institutes strange magic product flash sales for one day only to try to move product. We informed magic players of Greensboro arrive early in the morning, pick the shop clean of the maybe 5-8 cards of value at discounts of 30% on prices artificially inflated 15%, then we leave. That's pretty much the only time we come. So in short, maybe they're a good comic shop, I wouldn't know, but they sure as hell aren't a good magic shop. Read this while you can, I hear the owner regularly pays Yelp to have negative reviews removed. read more

I went in at 330 on a Tuesday with my fiance to look for comics for him. When asked about a restroom I was told that restrooms were for paying customers only. Thats fine since we were there to shop anyway but its not very good Customer service to act that way. Never again. Customer service is everything when a business wants repeat customers. We were so put off by the experience that he bought one comic so we could leave when upon walking in we were prepared to spend a decent amount of time looking for items to purchase. read more

The people at Comic are so nice and welcoming and help teach you everything you need to know. They are so willing to help! I'm so glad we started playing Heroclix together, our relationship has benefited so much and it's all thanks to the Comic Dimension! This store introduced me to the MtG community in a fun, but competitive, atmosphere where everyone can play and enjoy themselves. During my first FNM, my opponents helped me rather than bashed me for not understanding all the rules. All the single card prices are accessible though tcgplayer website and are 100% fair. read more

I made a honest review of my experience when calling this shop. I spoke with the owner during this call. He was rude and made assumptions and then turned around and called me rude and said I made assumptions. Some how Yelp was contacted to have the original review taken down. I was also blamed of never even visiting the shop from the owner just from speaking over the phone. (Assumptions) so I will comment on when I did visit the store in hopes this review does not get taken down because I was not "in the store" for the last one. I walked in and browsed the store that looked very nice. I was there for about 5 minutes and could not find what I was looking for so I walked the person working at the time and as if I was out of line for asking a question he said "we don't sell that" and turned his back to me to continue whatever it was he was doing on his cell phone. So I left. And never went back. I have never wrote a review until this experience. Was that bad. read more
