a glass of beer on a bar
    Alexis T.

Cute little drink joint in the Commons. Lots of seating. Lots of parking. And you can enjoy dinner in CTs seating area with orders from anywhere else in the room (there are 2-3 other food-based options in the commons.) Good sized beer list, but prices are a tad high for the pour sizes. My favorite was the Mexican cake imperial stout, but we tried a few others which were good too! It can get a bit loud with the crowds and bad acoustics, but not nearly as bad as a full-blown bar that is open all evening! Good place for families to cool off after a hot day (21+ to order, but lots of space for strollers to slide between tables too.)

Totally brand new and I was there for the soft opening , so it wasn't yet at its zenith but I predict this spot will be top notch on all counts. Housed in a formerly warehouse/office/industrial structure, the look is now upscale mechanical. Community Tap is a staple in Greenville and has opened a second store. Contained in the same structure are two very popular restaurants: Golden, Brown and Delicious (GB&D), and Automatic Taco. Expected to open soon is SC Bakery, known for its breads. Each restaurant has seating within its area and there is a large common area with a looooong table for comingling while you dine or down a brew. Both of the restaurants offer vegan options as well as a variety of other fare. Our tab for 2 meals (burger and avocado toast with a well executed kimchi) was $22. The brew pub offers about 20 different types of craft beers and a good selection of wines. There is plenty of free parking and an outside deck overlooking the Swamp Rabbit Trail, which I imagine will be packed when the spring thaw hits!

    Edmunds oast Concord grape sour....mmmm

Delicious little place to come and wet the whistle in a communal nouveau hipster type bar. They do have a great selection and I went with the Edmunds Oast from Charleston, SC Concord grape sour ale. It was very lightly sour yet refreshing and delicious. Like a Tropicana grape juice sour beer. They have lots of places to sit and a nice central bar. Also available is a clever selection of wine plus take home micro brew beers in four packs and other to go sizes. Definitely worth coming back for a few more frosty drinks!

The locals raved over the nachos and I heard them ask for the recipe. I'm here to rave to you over the side salad. You get a choice of "boring fries" (their name not mine) or a side salad with your sandwich. Holy cow, that's the best side salad I've ever had. No boring iceberg and insipid tomatoes here. Spring greens, sweet onion, shaved fennel, gourmet tomatoes, pepitas (pumpkin seeds), Craisins and lots of fresh herbs with an amazing house-made vinaigrette dressing. Impressive. Absolutely make a stop here and see for yourself.

Killer vibe inside with 10 seat bar, 2 lounge areas, hightop seating and a large/covered dog and kid friendly patio. Best chicken sandwich and roast beef sandwich in all of WNC. All the sides, apps and desserts are amazing and worth going back to fryer everything on the menu. Chef Dano(founder of Root Down) started with a food truck rocking out at all those amazing Pisgah Brewery outdoor shows and most recently ran the food program at salvage station(RIP). Our guy is back and now are doing the same high quality tasty fare in beautiful West Black Mountain

Right by Fluor Field with a fun, lively vibe. We sat outside, which was clean, comfortable, and a great spot to hang out before an event. Service was fantastic. David, our server, was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable, and really helped elevate the experience. For food, we started with the wings (dry rub and Jamaican jerk). The flavors were decent, but the wings themselves were rubbery and a bit underwhelming, especially considering the price point. One standout though... the ranch dressing. Easily some of the best I've had. The breakfast tacos were good overall, and the chimichurri was fresh and flavorful. I think adding a creamy component would have taken them up another level. The sweet potato fries were fantastic. The chicken and biscuit was decent. The Nashville-style chicken had good flavor, but the tenders were on the smaller side, making the portion feel a bit lacking. The biscuit itself was solid. The tallow fries were also well done, and the Lefty's sauce was a nice addition. One unique touch at the end. You're given the option to send a postcard, and they handle the postage and mailing for you. A really fun and memorable detail. Overall, a good spot with great service and atmosphere, though some of the food execution and portion sizes could be improved.
