Such a cool and fun place! I came here with friends this past weekend. I hadn't been to a bar like this before, and I really liked it! You get an armband that is linked to your credit card when you come in, and you serve yourself at the multiple taps around the bar. The space is great. There are games to play and a nice covered rooftop, where we wound up sitting. They also have a lot of neat artwork that really contributes to the atmosphere. Hoppin' opened up at Markley Place along with Urban Wren and Todaro. At first I thought Hoppin' was just another spin off of Pour Taproom but it's definitely a step up. I love the decor and ambiance so much more. It's very spacious with indoor and outdoor seating as well as a back room with more taps. There's also an upstairs area too which has not opened yet and we're excited for some rooftop views! The concept is still the same as Pour Taproom. You get a wrist band, tap the beer/wine that you want and pour as much volume as you like. Pay by the ounce and the wrist band is basically your tab. read more

Been here twice and love it! I live in south Florida but have family that lives in Greenville and this is a spot I would love to go each time. The concept is great and I like how you can try a bit and not waste too much money if you don't like it. They have a good variety of all type of beers, cider, and wine . This place was amazing & huge!! Very clean, spacious & nicely decorated. There were at least 30 beers, 5-10 cocktails, wine, seltzers & ciders on tap. You get a wrist ban that activates all of the self pour stations. You can tap on the screen to see what is in each drink and get the price per ounce. Be careful though because it all pours fast and can add up quick. There is a large rooftop area with more bathrooms and pour stations. The staff was very informative & friendly. We came to Greenville for a getaway away from Florida and stopped by Hoppin, disappointed by what can only be described as poor customer service. Upon entry, there was no one at the counter to greet guests. No one came as we waited for someone to assist us into the establishment. We sat at the front for over 10 minutes, then walked into the main lobby, hoping to find someone who worked there--no one insight. I went with my 61 year old father, the initial lady at the counter was nice, but after spending around $50 on DRINKS alone, we were informed there was a 20% forced gratuities (tip) charge. We poured our own drinks, got our own glasses, and cleaned up after ourselves. This place has also lost their view to an assisted living facility. Their game tables are beat up and damaged from years of abuse. There is no reason to charge this much. Just hit the QT that's literally a 30 second walk if you want alcohol. Just ~1 year ago I would've highly recommended this place, but now I would excessively avoid it. read more

I am not sure why this place is so highly rated. I live close by and wish I enjoyed it as much as others. The layout is pretty nice and the staff is friendly. That is about where my good experience ends. The beer selection is not that great. I believe Mac's has a better selection. It is pretty expensive, and I understand some of that. To be able to buy by the ounce does deserve some premium, but that premium is pretty high. My biggest complaint is that the taps are terrible. Getting them to register the arm band usually takes a few tries. Then they spit out a lot of foam. I think most of their taps are way over pressured. When you are paying a premium for each ounce, you want it to be more than just foam. I like Pour and I like the concept. I hope that they can fix some of these issues. It would be a very convenient place for me to grab a beer. read more

The view at the rooftop is the moneymaker. Ordered the pizza next door and they brought it up to me at the rooftop. TAlked to an employee to remember how to pay and drink. You end up with a wristband. Sat on the roof with no crowd and ate my pizza and sangría and enjoyed it all! Caught their Happy hour with like 20% discount by accident and the red sangria is great!! Nice place. Great beer choices. We were impressed until we found out there was a hidden 20% service charge automatically added to the bill which wasn't explained to us on the first visit so when the screen was flipped around for our signature we included a tip. This added $10 to our bill for no food and self serving ourselves the beer. Additionally, they don't provide receipts or take cash. Our second visit is when we were alerted that the service charge was automatic so we didn't tip. Unfortunately for Hoppin, we do not plan on going back. This business is getting ready to celebrate their 4 year anniversary. Tried this place for the first time today, and loved it! Great selection of self-serve alcohol. My husband loved the beers, and they had enough sours and tart ciders for me! We though it might be worth it for the rooftop seating area.
