It was a great experience: convenience of a loaner, on-time service, honest review of service needed and what should be done soon. The difference being that the dealer seemed to upcharge on what is needed and what coud be done. Their overhead charges and labor costs were extreme as well. That said, Autowerks charges a fair amount on labor and additional "Phantom" time did not appear on my bill. Give them a try.

God had other plans for me and decided to teach me both honesty and humility at the same time. So I showed up to VIP asked how to fix this and was told that while I could try scratch remover my best bet was to fess up and cash out. A most egregious sequence of events…read more Agreed upon full day drop off for battery replacement; car did not start up right upon pick up, had faith, and it was dead upon morning. Had to Uber kids to school, call roadside assistance for jump. Was not told until back in person that the reason was THEY NEVER REPLACED THE BATTERY BECAUSE THEY DIDNT SEE IT ON THE PAPERWORK. This was the sole issue that had been discussed for 2 days prior. I'm still pleasant at this point; walk home. Receive call ACCUSING me of not giving them my keys; they strongly believe this because "I gave them the car running". I'm like duh, the battery's dead, that was a convenience TO YOU. At this point, I say "you already didn't render services upon payment in full and now you're telling me you lost my keys, why would I believe you?" I hung up, I'm on my way. On the way on my child's scooter, I get a VM, of course they found the keys. Pete(?) meets me outside, hands me keys, tries to show me "what happened". As I'm already getting in my car, he says "I don't appreciate you hollering at my guy". Well, I don't like the false security of being sent off for paid services not rendered and then getting accused of lying and the possible stress of lost keys on top! Wow! I never even asked for a refund. UNACCEPTABLE.

I get my annual inspection here, I get my new tires here, but most importantly: I get things fixed here when other mechanics have messed something up on my car. Which has happened three times in the past two years! The most recent example: an auto body shop didn't put all the lugnuts back on my tire, and they didn't tighten the lugnuts they did put on after working my vehicle. I drove around, unaware of this, for weeks. When I went to get my inspection sticker, I recreated the strange noises coming from my tire (SIDE NOTE: they never laugh at me when I do this; I've seen other customers do it to them too ["thump, thump, thump" or "SCREEEEE"] and they take it very seriously). When they looked, they were appalled. They tightened lugnuts, added lugnuts, and checked my alignment for free because of how dangerous a situation it could have been (like... I was miles away from my tire falling off my car). When they told me (multiple times) my car was safe, I believed them. I always believe them. They have never led me astray. They're reliable, competent, considerate, friendly, patient, and have great senses of humor. One time I had to have SO MUCH work done on my car, they didn't want to say how much it would cost out loud so they wrote it on a paper and slid it over to me like we were in a movie. I've been offered ice cream, coffee, rides if I needed to be somewhere. But most importantly? I've been offered the best of humanity. (Nearly every single time I'm here, an elderly person stops in to ask if they could put air in their tires. And they do it immediately. For free.) Thanks for making me (and so many others) feel seen and heard, folks! Your customer service is unlike any other.

These guys are morons. I went in for an oil change and my car left the shop making all kinds of…read morenoises it had never made before. Went back a few years later for an oil change again. I figured the staff would have changed since my last experience. It took them 3.5 hours just to change the oil and my car was the only one in the shop. Then they came out and said that my brakes and muffler needed to be replaced. Took it to my family's mechanic a month later for an inspection and he said my brakes and muffler were in perfect condition. Unbelievable. Literally unbelievable. There are many MANY better places around town to go instead of Meineke in Topsham.

Things that stood out-their team is direct and goes above and beyond for you! They told me everything that I needed to know about my car troubles (ultimately a new battery) and things that I should look into (due for oil change and state inspection). They did all of this work for a reasonable price and I know I'll be coming back here in the future (hopefully with a scheduled appointment and not a breakdown). This was so easy…read more No appointment needed just line up behind the orange cones and when a bay becomes available the garage door will open and the attendants will guide you in. You simply park over the oil change station and follow the attendants instruction. It really is only 10 minutes! Staff worked quickly, they were knowledgeable, they reset my oil light and hooked me up with a new cling for my window to tell me when I'll be due again. They check fluids, wash the windows, no high-pressure sales tactics, just quick, friendly service. I was in and out on my lunch hour. Like a snap. I'll be using them in the futre for my oil changes.
