The Concorde Room is a nice lounge. There were aspects of it that were luxurious, but then there were certain things that made it feel less exclusive. It's a lounge for First British Airways customers located in Terminal 5 at London Heathrow. The most premium feature of our visit was being able to dine in the private pre-flight dining booths. This is basically a restaurant-type experience. The food (we ate breakfast) was good and the high partitions in the dining area gave a nice sense of privacy. The service was top-notch and this was the best part of visiting The Concorde Room. After eating, we camped out in the lounge for what was thought to be about an hour, but turned into 3 hours with multiple flight delays. Good news is that the lounge is nice and does offer some outdoor dining as well, so there was plenty of natural light, but the lounge could've benefited from more partitions and more privacy. The decor is fine, but lacked the elevation and sophistication of other first class lounge products. The part where The Concorde Room loses a star is in the bathrooms. They are rather small, gender-neutral restrooms with poor lighting and they really felt like something you would've seen in just a regular terminal. Nothing luxurious about the restrooms whatsoever. Overall, The Concorde Room definitely delivers in the dining realm, but loses its luxury focus in other aspects of its execution. read more

Super late review, but this lounge was such an awesome experience to wrap up our honeymoon (part 1) in Europe. At the time, the Omicron wave escalated in UK with increased restrictions, so we made some last minute changes to our return flight from Spain and ended up transiting through LHR to catch (and experience) a BA first class flight back to the stateside. I may have been half asleep here at 7am since the couches were super comfortable. My partner and I are known to lounge super hard when there's a la carte dining and lots of comfy spaces to chillllll - this was a LEGIT chill spot *chef's kiss* Interior design was bright and welcoming, but make it "high end boutique" My partner tried the various cocktails and gave them high remarks as they were quite unique. We also found the breakfast options were pretty solid too. I had the "California egg" which had avocado and a poached egg. Service was fantastic all around, from check in, breakfast and the bar. The lounge was quite lively but the time we left around 11am, but not crowded since access is somewhat limited. Bathrooms are also very spacious and well maintained, and I enjoyed the sunrise view from the terrace. Happy to check off this premium lounge from my list \o/ read more

For those who are obsessed with travel, airplanes and lounges, there is probably no greater feat than being able to get into the Concorde Room. It's exclusivity is well known within the world of flyers. No access with credit card, money, airline status, partner airlines or even a business class ticket. Only British Airways first flyers are permitted. Its so exclusive that there is a secret door immediately to the right after security, which is so unnoticeable, I couldn't even find it at first despite knowing that it exists. So, is this lounge worth the status and hype that frequent flyers chat this up to be? The short answer is absolutely. The lounge has several unique features that really do distinguish it from almost any other lounge out there. For starters, there is a private style dining area, with small cubes where white linens, William Edwards plates and a multi course menu create an atmosphere that is different than a lounge or a restaurant. To top it off, British is one of the few European airlines that splurges on top notch champagne for first class passengers, so Laurent Perrier Gran Siecle ($250 retail) gets poured here into gorgeous crystal for a truly opulent experience. The meal is pleasantly presented and generally quite good, although there were some dishes like the salmon mousse that were oddly served, making them very odd without bread. I genuinely enjoyed the meal here and while I can certainly name many restaurants where the food is better, the Concorde Room is undoubtedly the best lounge dining experience I've seen. The design is also a pleasant one and on the occasion I visited, there were not many people there. While lounges are made for people, there is little debate that crowds ruin lounges. Amex centurion lounges are a great example of a good lounge that is just too dense with humans. Ps. Do not, under any circumstances, leave this lounge without seeing the droop snoot nose of the Concorde, which is sitting on ten patio section in the corner. read more

This is British airways flag lounge, situated in terminal five across the hallways from the first class lounge. Think of this lounge as an upgraded first class lounge. Getting into it, the service, and the food quality will feel more like a nice restaurant (or better analogy would be a hotel lobby). Great atmosphere too. The drink selection is large, and obviously complementary (am sure it was pleasantly embedded in the first class ticket :) )... also the food menu is rather large. read more

After a long flight, this is a special place to relax before you're next transit flight. I had come from LA and was on my way to Cairo. I had about three hours to rest and eat (and drink) so in I cane. It's a beautiful space and unlike other lounges, this has a homey feel. There is a terrace with big cozy chairs and sofas. I'm all over that!!! Had a nice Rosè champagne and a great burger going out and a lovely mimosa or two plus an egg sausage sandwich back the other way. All gratis with my first class ticket! Loved this place, they spoil everyone!!!! read more

This is an exceptional lounge in London Heathrow. Unlike the neighboring British Airways First Class lounge which is accessible to those flying on One World partners, the Concorde Room is restricted to those actually flying on British Airways flights in First Class. Some other reviewers have complained about this, but the One World rules are very clear. If you're traveling First Class on American Airlines you are absolutely entitled to the British Airways First Class lounge (next door) which is a One World lounge, but NOT the Concorde Room (which is not a One World lounge). The interior is a combination of modern and classic luxury. Crystal chandeliers hang over numerous comfortable seating areas spread throughout the lounge. Servers roam throughout the seating areas and will gladly bring you Krug champagne or any other thirst quenchers. Tucked to one side is the Concorde Dining room. Small booths make it feel like an exclusive dinner club. The menu is somewhat limited, but the quality of the food was excellent. A welcome respite from the buffet dining at typical lounges. Dine to your heart's content. I tried a wonderful soup and then decided to be adventurous with a filet of sole. The sole looked rather unusual and pale (having never had sole before that might be normal), but it actually tasted very good. Don't eat too much, though, or you'll miss the wonderful onboard food in BA First. This is an exceptional lounge - probably one of the best in the world. If you're traveling through LHR in BA First you definitely must visit. read more

The Concorde room lives up to it's great service and food. The staff is very attentive but not one smile or any type of friendliness comes from the crew in back of the bar... they are supposed to have a great variety of top shelf liquor but did not have Drambuie. As an aside you don't get any first class treatment from security in fact thet were quite nasty. British Airways Lounge in Philadelphia in my opinion for all around customer service is better then what you get at London Heathrow. read more

I got really lucky to check out this lounge. See, I had a 4 hour layover on my way from Budapest to Shanghai, China. I have a Priority Pass card which gets me into a lot of lounges, but there were none in LHR T5. I ended up hopping on a web site that shows who's at what lounges on what day, and a friendly guy from FlyerTalk guested me in. I don't typically drink before flights, but Johnny Walker Blue was gratis, so I couldn't resist. Ordered a really nice meal made to order as well, and skipped the food on my economy flight out. More lounges need to be this nice. read more

Love the special entrance right off of the South security area, only for Concorde Room. For other lounges such as Galleries First or Galleries Club, you will have to go downstairs, turnaround, and take an escalator to get there. You can have meal in a restaurant style (via server) here, and they serve different dishes depends on the time. My eggs benedict was yummy! I saw some folks in hurry and asked to get everything in 2 min, but this is not a "grab-n'-go" or drive-through kinda place. There is a bar area where a bartender serves you. Unfortunately, you won't get the similar service as LH's F-Class Terminal @ FRA such as fancy Porsche ride to your plane, and you need to walk to your departure gate on foot. ;) Also, if you are flying BA operated First Class flights, you can also book Elemis Spa in advance through 'You First' service. The complementary spa service is only for 15 min, so it's not like Thai Airways' 1-hour full body massage at BKK spa... read more

When traveling international first-class on British Airways through London Heathrow Terminal 5 one has access to all the British Airways lounges. The actual designated first-class lounge is called The Concord Room. It is a lovely and spacious lounge with areas for work as well as relaxation. There is a large bar with premium wines, Champagnes, and liquors and a small restaurant area where meals according to the time of the day may be had. Free Wi-Fi access is also available. Showers can be found right outside the main entrance to the lounge. These come in quite handy after a long transoceanic flight during the layover. The only reason not to give this place 5 stars is because the food in the restaurant here is quite bad. But where else can one have "airline food" in such an elegant setting on the ground? read more

Ah the Concorde Room at Heathrow T5. What is so special about this quiet oasis amidst the craziness that is LHR? I've been lucky enough to be in here a few times now and frankly it doesn't get old. This is a mythical place that few mortals get to visit, for frequent travelers up there with Xanadu, Mount Olympus, the Cathay First Class Lounge in Hong Kong, and the Emirates First Lounge in Dubai. I tried for years to get in. I love First Galleries Lounge across the way, I could only imagine what was hidden in this room! While courting my wife I sprang air miles to fly her to meet me in India and flew her first class. The second she landed @LHR and texted me I asked 'What's the Concorde room like?' 'Strippers and clowns' was the only response I could get. The anticipation of one day being in here was made so much worse. How do you get in? So you have to be holding a BA First Class boarding pass. This means you are coming on or going out on a long haul flight with BA First Class, period. Today I'm flying in FC (Thanks AA!) on an upgrade to India. So I have 4 hours to enjoy this and the spa next door. Some folks seem to be confused at not being allowed in here when flying AA First class from Heathrow, there is a good reason for this. You are in the wrong terminal! AA flights leave terminal 3, this lounge is in T5 and you can only get to it if you are leaving T5, not T3. AA has a First Class Lounge at Heathrow, and it is scheduled to be upgraded to a Flagship Lounge soon. For now, it's ok, food good but limited. Self serve booze, decent champagne. I like it, it's next to Tiffany's and Louis Vuitton so do not drink and shop! Now if you fly in AA first class and leave T5 BA business? I'm sorry, it's the galleries lounge and that sucks. For you. This will help you transition to your plastic prison cell on the plane. Unless you have emerald oneworld status, then it's off to Galleries First and pour your own champagne. First world problems. All of these involve a bus between T5 and T3 which means an hour messing about and missing champagne time. This makes your lounge choice irrelevant, you'll be too panicked to enjoy and will have at the most 20 minutes to let your blood pressure subside. No massage for you, and you'll just have to drink on the plane. So. The Concorde Room. The unicorn of European lounges. Why 5 stars, and if I could I'd give it 6? First, food. There are two menus. One for more formal dining, and a snacky pub menu for people like me. One recent change is that there is a high top table between the formal sit down foo foo restaurant style seating, which I hate, and the bar, at which both menus are served. Normally I wouldn't care but today it's breakfast and that means kippers and that means high top. Food is all cooked to order and delivered fresh and piping hot. Or cold, if that is how it should be. The Sausage Sandwich is excellent, but ever since the Viz special of the same name in the 90s I can't order it without a snigger. This is not a place to snigger. Second they have cabanas to sleep in. Today perfect, I need a nap. And they come and wake you for your flight. Yes they are small, but this is a bedroom. In a lounge! With Champagne! Third, liquor. I'm a beer drinker. IPA. That's me. Not here. This is a world class cocktail bar. The last time I was here I took a conference call and was accused of being in a bar, because the other people on the call could hear cocktails being shaken. I was way across the room (note to self, there is an outside terrace overlooking the terminal. Take calls from there). The worst scotch here is JW Blue. There is no top shelf, it's all top shelf. Cocktails are, I am told, world class. They have a menu of house drinks but you can order anything. Being in a fantasy 007 world one day I asked for a Zephyr Martini, without a pause the barman said 'shaken, not stirred' and delivered the perfect article. The wine list is epic. Champagne is L-P Grand Siecle. Fourth, service. It's very English. Very 'sir, your glass needs a top up. Oh go on sir twist your arm sir. There you go sir' all said before you can say no and while pouring and filling up your glass. They have bar snacks from wasabi peas to crisps (chips) to popcorn. This is not a place to marvel. Not a place to wonder at the decor, which is comfortable sofa's, tables and fireplaces, a piano you can play if you like. Not the Concorde bar in Dubai, a slightly weird space hidden behind a door in the regular lounge which isn't a bar, and doesn't quite work. It doesn't impress the way some lounges do, no ostentatious art collection. There is no adventurous design language, the design language here is 'comfy, and slightly old and musty'. It reflects its parent location precisely. It's not a place to get hammered, it is a place to simply exhale. It is, in essence, a wonderful place to relax, recharge, and prepare for the rest of your journey. read more

The best part of the lounge is the comfortable seating and pleasant views of the airport. Decent food and average service bring the experience down a little- at least for me. But is a wonderfully comfortable place to relax. Next time I think I may stick with the regular First lounge as they have more diverse and informal food options and a more lively ambiance. read more

Enter through the "Million Pound Door", thusly named for the amount BA needs to pay Heathrow for access to that private corridor which leads to the lounge and gates by skipping the circus of the stores surrounding it. Try the food at the restaurant - my smoked duck first course and entree of Braised Ox Cheek in a red wine demi glace was top quality and reminded me of a dish prepared by the executive chef of the Four Seasons hotel at a recent private dinner. read more

Okay, so I used the Concorde lounge on my way to JFK (and on my return to London) and the Elemis travel Spa. I love peace and quiet when travelling so the idea of a dedicated wing for first class from check in, security, lounge and spa with BA seemed like a great option to avoid the typical hussle and bustle of airport visits. Let me just say that if you want to avoid crowds, the price tag is worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed the overall experience and I am writing this from the arrivals concorde lounge on my return, after having just enjoyed another relaxing back massage . The food wasn't a culinary epiphany but it was good on both occasions. You can use the concorde lounge or the first class lounge. I recommend the concorde as it is quieter and more intimate. Showers are very good. Some areas of the lounge can use a little spruce up (some armchairs on departure were stained and a bit tired). Champagne and drinks are of good quality . Perhaps one of the nicest airport lounges I have been to so far. This is in terminal five at London/Heathrow. It's on the second floor on the south end of the terminal. On one end is the First Class Lounge, this is on the other side. What sets this apart? First, very personalized service. It's pervasive throughout. Good customer service and friendly/attentive staff. It's clean and open. I also like that they have an "outside terrace" away from the main area. It is open to the terminal, but above it. Nice for watching parts of the airport, relaxing and/or watching the planes come into gates. They have restaurant style service with a decent menu. I opted for lunch on the outbound. I just had a drink on the return. The bar staff is also excellent with a wide selection of drinks and snacks. There are also a large number of bathrooms and showers here. The only minor complaint is the lack of power ports. There are some, but not as widely available as expected, especially on the terrace. That said, it's a minor nitpick. Tip: you can access this lounge from the second floor if you know where the door is. Same for exiting. read more

Of all the airline lounges you could end up in almost everyone would be a lesser experience than this (possible exception in my travels - - the Qatar Airlines lounge in Doha). Well appointed, super helpful staff, great shampers on offer, and a quick hidden door into lounge once released from security checkpoint. Food served and solid, of course if you prefer grazing at a buffet that's on offer, too. Best feature is the "outdoor" lounge with view of the rest of the terminal. Strangely chill out here..... Ah, The Concorde Lounge.... Flying to or from Europe via LHR is a pain in the neck. Some people have an even lower opinion of it. With the opening of Terminal 5, it became a mere headache. We were fortunate enough to be flying first class on BA (miles) from Frankfurt to Boston. After going through security we made our way to the lounge. I do like their selection of high-end alcohols and the Elemis products in the bathrooms. Speaking of bathrooms, they're not holding up well. When pushing the button to flush the toilet, the whole wall moves. Free Wi-Fi is nice and the menu is odd. The food is pretty bland but edible. There are UK, Continental and US plugs to charge one's devices as well. It's a bland respite from the hubbub in Terminal 5. read more

After taking an early flight into LHR I arrived early and I ate on the flight (which was a bad idea, I should have waited). This is a very nice lounge, you are greeted and escorted on a tour, the lounge connects to the other BA lounges as well, but there are some differences. This lounge has an excellent bar with everything top shelf you can think of. They also will make you any type of other drink such as the cappuchinos I enjoyed while waiting for my flight. They have a restaurant area with a full service menu, of course everything is complementary. The "outdoor" area has nice views of the terminal and the planes moving around, I ended up moving out there to check it out. I took the back way to my flight which ended up being much faster to transfer to the other buildings. They told me it would take 15 minutes to get to the other building but I did it in about 6-7. Subtract one star for useless staff who could not even do a simple thing such as change a seat assignment, much less change an award ticket. The best thing about the CR is the secret door from security and the dining room. Both rocked my world Dining experience fast, excellent and great food. This proves a great respite. The spa treatment fast and to clinical almost like a supermarket experience which was a pity. The bar situation was a little hostile and not that cool. Very poor service at the bar and in the lounge. Quite a let down considering it's the Concorde Room and what other carriers provide. Worth it for the privacy and dinner. That's it! read more

The Concorde room is a little overrated and hyped up. It is just a nicer looking airport lounge. The service is A+ however they do not make 5 stars because their 3 course meal is simply dressed up airport food. If you have access to the Concorde room by all means check it out and enjoy but in my opinion they could do a little better on the food. My duck was soggy and dry and not very appealing. The best aspect of the Concorde room is bar selection. They also have free Johnnie Walker Blue label. read more

Meals are made to order. Private rooms in lounge with tub,shower and bed. Room service to your cabna is just a buzz away. Chuck this review up to being a "first world problem". You get access to the BA Concorde Room if you're traveling in F on a BA flight (sorry OW Emeralds not traveling in F--you have to go to the lowly First lounge). Every time I've been in here, I've always had issues with the surly and indifferent service. While the cabanas are nice, the general shower suites just aren't that great. The food itself is a whole other issue. It's an issue to the point where the lounge as a whole received a bad hygiene rating for food safety. Yuck. Compared to it's OW counterparts, such as CX's F lounges in Hong Kong and Sydney/Melbourne Qantas F lounges, this BA offering is just depressing. My advice would be to come in here with little to no expectations. read more

Always a top notch lounge. Always fully stocked and has lots of space to get comfortable as you wait for your flight.

The best way to start a trip. Once through security, turn right and flash your first class ticket at the guardian of he secret door and avoid the trek through the shops. The food is pretty good, and perhaps the only reason it might get a slightly lower rating - but when compared to most other lounge food I think it warrants five stars. Book cabana's or spa treatments in advance if you want them as they are often fully booked. The drinks selection is excellent and the service was very good. Outside on the terrace there's a large table with plenty of plug sockets should you need a last minute recharge of laptop or phone (though all BA F cabins have power sockets). There may be a few other lounges in the world that compare, and perhaps surpass the Concorde Room but not many. Already counting down the days until the next visit (132 at time of writing!). read more

First Class all the way. Busy but much less so than the other combined Business Class Lounge and it's nice to have a sit down Restaurant in the mix. Book a Cabana or Massage ahead of time or sit on the "Veranda". The Bar serves premium liquor and Vintage Champagne. Food is excellent and service is wonderful despite the general malaise of some fellow Passengers it's thoroughly enjoyable. read more
