unkempt threads inside new garment bags

While the store carries useful organizational products, the ordering and fulfillment systems are extremely rigid. Orders cannot be edited once placed, even shortly after checkout, which often results in unwanted or duplicate items being shipped. In my case, shipments have arrived incomplete, yet returns are still pushed to in-store visits rather than offering streamlined return shipping. For customers who make an effort to meet minimum order thresholds and consolidate purchases, the lack of flexibility is frustrating. The garment bags in particular were disappointing in quality -- bulky and lint-shedding -- not what I expected at this price point. The issue feels less like individual staff and more like backend systems that aren't customer-friendly. Until the ordering and returns process improves, I'll likely limit purchases to only items I can evaluate in store.

I wish there would be some signs near Trader Joe that The Container store is upstairs. It's the opposite end from Trader Joe's and it is upstairs. I take the elevator near Trader Joe to the 2nd floor. There's a security guy upstairs at the parking lot. Best yet, just drive your car up to 2nd floor of parking lot. This place is sparkling clean. Very organized. Container store is for those who live organizing.

And charged for the more expensive shark tooth when we bought the cheaper one. They don't have barcodes or SKU numbers. So it seems the employees are just guessing what the products are. Super cool store love it here But, my boyfriend and I were on a trip last week. Came for the first time and bought a bunch of stuff. They do not have Barcodes on the items, which is fine but if you're going to do that, make sure your employees know what is what. A easy mistake to make I'm sure, but they should probably fix there system style so mistakes like this are not easy to make. Sadly we didn't notice till we were already on our way home the next day, so there's not much we can do about it. Again all these could be fixed if they had barcodes or sku numbers. Other than that a super cool store, employees were friendly. But wish we were not overcharged for a cheaper item, and charged for something we did NOT get. Wish we could have got our money back but we don't live in San Fran.

Since then I've really enjoyed interactions with the instructor (Karen) and the owner (Donna). Karen was very helpful in providing hands-on training to learn about 4 different techniques for chalk painting. Since taking the class, she has been super responsive and has provided a lot of helpful and creative ideas on how to work with different combinations of colors and waxes, has sent me links to some really interesting furniture, and was kind enough to send me a paint brush I left in the store. Donna has also provided a lot of very helpful advice on painting techniques and how to take care of the brushes and paint to prolong their use. She was very thoughtful in recommending that I buy smaller quantities of some of their products which she felt would be sufficient and, in turn, save the pocketbook.

The male shopkeeper was initially pleasant when I asked about a pillow. My husband joined me, and we decided the pillow's colors didn't match our decor. As we browsed, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Upon leaving, I thanked him, but he responded with a side-eye, glare, and silence. It's clear only potential buyers are welcome. This is unfortunate, as I'm renovating my home and this store could have been ideal. I'll take my business elsewhere, as snobbery doesn't boost sales. Why would anyone want negative energy associated with their purchase? No thanks.

Just around the corner in the same building as Tartine Manufactory is Heath Ceramics, located in the chic former industrial district called Potrero Hill. Stroll inside and you will find rows and rows of simple sturdy dinnerware that is thicker than most, and finished in a range of earthy subtle colors that can serve at a beautiful understated backdrop to the food that will be served upon it. Mind you, the prices aren't inexpensive here, but the quality is worth it, even for just a couple of pieces to cherish and take home. It's about $60/each for a dinner plate, with prices hovering around that for most pieces. Heath also makes a range of wall tiles, and their manufacturing facility dominated by a pair of massive kilns is just behind the glass windows. Be sure to check out the simple display area at the entrance that details the history of Heath Ceramics, with a newsstand next door too, also run by Heath Ceramics! A bit of a non-sequitur there, but cool to see also!

This is probably the most beautiful store I've ever visited. Every single tile, vase, cup, glass, bowl, etc. I saw was beyond stunning. The variety of colors and textures in this store were incredible. What's more, every piece seemed sturdily made. This store does fall on the pricier end, so be prepared to spend a pretty penny on your dream set. I really appreciated the store creating mock ups of color combinations for a bathroom, kitchen, or dining table. I was definitely daydreaming about future kitchen sets after seeing these examples. I'll be coming back in the future to invest in some beautiful glassware and ceramics. What a gorgeous store full of remarkable pieces!

I told her that shouldn't apply to this purchase and it's disgraceful to be charging 4X the price and not be willing to refund.
