It's been a while since my wife and I participated in one of Miyoko's Kitchen cooking classes but we follow her on Instagram (@miyokoscreamery) every day. The same type of recipes and cooking instructions are being given out freely by this generous soul. I can't recommend checking them out or following her on Instagram enough. All of the recipes she's posted so far have been excellent and we continue to learn so much, just like we did in her in-person classes. The variety in our vegan menu has benefited greatly as a result of the knowledge Miyoko's been willing to share. We absolutely appreciate her and everyone that works with her companies to bring such amazing vegan products to the market. We love them all. I'm just so glad they're readably available in our area. "I am your chef, not your doctor," Chef David Lawrence from 1300 on Fillmore was friendly welcoming funny and great at creating tasty French English Jamaican Southern comfort food. Traditionally prepared with island spice, southern warmth and lots of heavy cream and butter. He started with his signature Shrimp and Steel Cut Grits. That was creamy heaven in every bite. He then followed by another of his signature dishes, the Maple Syrup Short Ribs. With these he made a sweet dry rub and then seared the meat, added the mira poix, sautéed until caramelized, added broth, and some special ingredients and viola... (3 hours later if cooking at home). He finished with a Sweet Tea Pana Cotta. Between each demo Chef Lawrence walked around the room and answered questions, talked to guests and made for great company. The only thing that I would comment less than positively about the whole event was that I was scolded by the busser when I attempted to help by stacking my and my guests dishes. She said in a frantic whisper "don't stack your dishes I will get penalized". I don't know what that means but I wish her the best and hope she doesn't get "penalized" for my needing to get my plates out of my way.

The decor is beautiful, with warm lighting, plants, and a really inviting vibe. The teachers are incredible. They're experienced, supportive, and create such a positive atmosphere. There are tons of beginner classes, as well as many options for more experienced pole dancers. This place is perfect for total beginners, and the instructors do a great job of meeting you where you're at and helping you build confidence. Classes are thoughtfully structured and flow really well. The instructor will start by checking in with the group--everyone usually introduces themselves and shares how they're feeling or what they want to focus on that day. There's a water station if you need to fill up before class begins. Then comes a solid warm-up with plenty of stretching to get your body ready. From there, the instructor leads the class through movement or choreography with lots of spotting, personalized instruction, and encouragement. There are also opportunities to film yourself throughout class if you want to track your progress or celebrate what you've learned. Everything wraps up with a cool-down stretch and a short debrief on what you worked on that day. They also offer other types of dance and yoga, along with some beautiful specialty classes--like candlelit evening dancing--which make the experience feel extra special. One of the best things about this studio is how inclusive it is. Pole here really feels like it's for every body--no matter your background, experience, or comfort level. There's also good parking, which makes getting to class easy. And I have to say--Halea really cares about her students. You can feel it in the way she teaches and in the environment she's helped create. Everyone is supported and encouraged to grow at their own pace. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a welcoming, beautiful space to move, learn, and feel good in your body.

We were initially drawn to this school because of its beautiful philosophy and child-centered…read morelanguage about independence, exploration, and nurturing a love of learning. Our grandson started there shortly after turning two, and he absolutely loved going to school. Unfortunately, our family's experience with the administration did not reflect the warm and developmentally appropriate environment described in the school's mission. From early on, my daughter was repeatedly approached with concerns about completely normal toddler behavior -- including delayed expressive speech at just over two years old and difficulty sitting through circle time. Many toddlers, especially active young boys, are simply not ready for highly structured group expectations at that age. Rather than partnering with parents in a supportive way, the communication often felt pressuring, judgmental, and lacking in understanding of normal developmental variation. At one point, the director even suggested that although we were paying for three days per week, our grandson should be removed for the middle day "to reset." That recommendation made little sense to us and did not feel supportive or solution-oriented. In our experience, families should understand that despite the Montessori-style language and emphasis on following the child, this program operates with fairly rigid behavioral expectations for very young children. If your child is under four, still developing speech, highly energetic, slow to warm up, or not naturally inclined toward structured group participation, this will not be the right fit. This environment may work well for children who are already very verbal, compliant, and comfortable with structure at a young age. But for active toddlers who are still developing at their own pace, it did not feel accepting or supportive of the "whole child" philosophy the school promotes.

There is a wonderful balance of outdoor and classroom time and his two years of Pepper Preschool have made him more independent and interested in learning. Each teacher brings a unique perspective and we love that they have all been at Pepper School for years. Most importantly he has learned how to be a kind friend and his ability to interact with other children and adults has blossomed. When recently deciding between TK and a third year at Pepper we opted for another year at Pepper. We know the skills he is learning and the wonderfully low teacher to student ratio will prepare him well for school.

They teach at risk youth skills and discipline, but really its only a solution for parents that want to get rid of their kids because they cant handle them. Its great the diocese makes this attempt at helping society, but sending youth off to be in the company of other budding felons just makes them felons. Fights were very common as were sexual assaults from other boys. I didnt witness such improprieties from staff members who were largely very professional. In conclusion my criticism is less with Hanna and more with society in needing such places to begin with. Hanna wont transform your boy and just might make him worse. It could go either way.

School was pretty cool from building in woodshop class to firing rockets in science class etc... got to meet a lot of wealthy people and invited to their mansions for us to enjoy. Next to a lake, swings slides all kinds of full courts, BBQs, (PIER 39 OWNERS) . Went to black hawk car museum that was cool. It sucked getting sent out the city for 12 months but I enjoyed my time there.
