I made a beeline for Aurora's Gypsy Café, because I wanted something different and this truck was about as different as could be. Check out the "Psychedelic meets Flea Market" look of their truck. Check out the sweet gypsy costume worn by their very sweet proprietor. And check out their menu for some very, very different types of cuisine. Their website describes their food as "homemade eclectic gypsy food... from North Africa and the Middle East to Eastern Europe and the Native American heritage, we offer dishes inspired by the flavors found on the Spice Road centuries past." So what is gypsy food? Think locally grown exotic meats like Elk, Venison, Wild Boar, Icelandic Lamb, Goat, Galloway and Wagyu Beef, Duck, Quail, and Rabbit. Think lots of locally grown vegetables and beans. I ordered a bowl of Gypsy Stew - a delicious and exotic blend of pork, beef, chorizo, cabbage and three kinds of beans served over wild rice.
