Enjoyed lunch and came back to try breakfast here - wow! Had the pleasure of enjoying the fluffiest and best waffle ever! My husband and I have tried every waffle local to Brookfield/Newtown and these are the best! You better be hungry when you check this place out because the food is delicious and portions are hefty

Waaaay too greasy to say the least. I didn't even finish my plate. I might go back to try the burger but honestly I really don't want to.

My wife and son were super excited to try barbecue at this famous local spot, but we definitely caught them on an off night. Reviews are mostly good for this place, so I guess timing and circumstances are at play. My wife ordered the peach cocktail and they were out. I ordered the RIBS, they were out !!! They didn't have the sausage for the combination platter and came out a couple of minutes later saying they had it (most likely just seared because the smoke was not there when we were eating). They were out of Brussel sprouts. They were out of MUSTARD !! I ordered a house pilsner they were out and I ordered another beer. Need i say more? On a good note they can barbecue. The brisket was very good. Great smoke ring and true winner. The pulled pork and chicken both had good smoke. Chicken was a bit on the dry side, but it was still good. Baked beans were good. My wife absolutely loved the cole slaw. Waitress was very good. Polite, apologetic and serviced us very well. We addressed our disappointment and hopefully by summer this famous BBQ spot can get back on track.

The crew and I heard about a new barbecue spot all the way out in Danbury, CT so we packed up the…read morewhip and shot out there! Here's how it went at Farmboys Smokin' BBQ! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on South Street with its own private parking lot is this gem. What looks like a seemingly medium-sized house on the side of the street is this unique spot. Out back there are several smokers that are fed with wood on a regular basis. Once inside you'll see the rustic concept. Lots of wood everywhere and a pretty open concept. Directly in front of you is the circular bar and off to the left is the main dining room. The lighting is warm and inviting as well. Service: The whole staff really took care of us since we were a pretty big party. We had no issues whatsoever. Food: So I got to try A LOT of things here. I started off with the Just Peachy which is Crowne Royal Peach served with a whiskey-soaked peach and some sweet tea. It was deliciously well-balanced and simple with only 3 major ingredients. Next up was the Homestyle Honey Cornbread. This was very good, soft and simple, I do wish the butter was warmer though so that it was easier to spread. Next up was the Honey Sriracha Glazed Pork Belly. It was so soft, so tender, savory and flavorful. I loved the bit of char from the "skin" and the sweet/spiciness was a great addition. Next up was the Smokey Mac & Cheese that comes served in a super hot skillet and it was SUPER CHEESY, yet very thick as well. This was so delicious, peppery, a bit sharp, but I really enjoyed it. Next up were the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings which are an excellent menu choice for those that don't eat meat. They're served over a blue cheese coleslaw and this was an awesome idea! I was very impressed because coleslaw is usually made with mayonnaise, using bleu cheese was brilliant. The "wings" themselves were crispy and flavorful. Next up was the Farmboys Old Fashioned which is a twist on the original classic. In it is Basil Hayden Toast Premium Bourbon and other secret ingredients. This was delicious as well and was just a hint too sweet to me. Next up were the Super Sloppy Nachos. These are a concoction of melted cheddar, homemade cheese sauce, baked beans, ranch, BBQ sauce, scallions, jalapenos and pulled pork. You can get chicken instead if you wish. These were delicious and very straightfroward, but pretty heavy. I actually really liked the fresh jalapenos that provided a bit of a crunch along with the chips. Very good. Next up were the Brussels Sprouts which are served with crispy pork belly and hot honey sauce. I mean, I guess these aren't healthy as they once were anymore. Lol. These were straight though. I liked how they were cooked and the other flavors involved drowned out the actual Brussels flavor. Second to last was the beef brisket. It was amazing and was so incredibly tender. Just simply amazing. I don't have anything else to say. Lastly, the smoked wings. These were super tender and they still had a crispy skin! The smokey flavor was excellent and there were hints of Cajun, maybe creole in it as well. I loved these so much. Value: Barbecue is usually on a bit of the pricey side, but that's just the way it goes. The food usually takes a lot longer and time is money. That's about it. This place wasn't crazy though and the portions are big so you definitely get your money's worth. In conclusion, I really, really liked this place and just wish it were closer to me so that I could visit more often. However, if you're on that side of the state or not, make your way there to check them out!

Luckily, there is plenty of space for parking. The restaurant has a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Its wood accented interior and warm lighting gives off a southern smokehouse feel, which is very on theme to the food they are serving. Ambiance rate: 8/10. They start off with unlimited corn bread which tasted okay, nothing super special. Rate: 5/10. My family and I ordered... 1. Crispy Pork Belly (from the pit) w/ a side of onion rings: This dish was delicious! The meat was nice and juicy, and the skin was super crispy! Rate: 9/10. - The onion rings were also very tasty and crispy! Rate: 9/10. One negative about this dish is it was a small portion of both meat and side for $23. 2. Table for 4: This consisted of an array of different meats from their pit, as well as 4 sides. As a whole, the portions were very generous, making it a very filling meal, and worth the cost. - Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs: This was flavorful however, the meat was very rubbery. It wasn't falling off the bone which was unfortunate. Rate: 6/10. - Brisket: This was my favorite meat! It was super tender and consisted of a good amount of fattiness! Rate: 10/10. - Dry Rubbed Chicken: This was average, tasted like your regular chicken. Rate: 5/10. - Smoked Sausage: This had a great smoky flavor to it making it very yummy! Rate: 8/10. - Pulled Pork: This was okay in terms of flavor and tenderness. Rate: 7/10. The 4 sides: 1. Truffle Mac n Cheese: This was good, except it lacked a truffle flavor which was disappointing. Rate: 6.5/10. 2. Mashed Potato-Brisket Gravy: This was average, nothing special: Rate: 5/10. 3. Baked Creamed Spinach: This was good, but it was more watery than I would've liked. Rate: 7/10. 4. Sweet Potato Fries: If you're a fan of sweet potato fries, these are right up your alley. Unfortunately, I can't give a fair rating since I don't like sweet potato fries. To add on, they give a variety of their different barbecue sauces which was amazing. My favorite was the Apricot Horseradish! The staff were very nice and helpful! Staff/service rate: 8/10. Overall, they hit the spot with some of their meats and sides, while others didn't. However, if you're in the area, it's worth trying their American barbecue!

I…read morenever jump to that conclusion lightly -- and honestly, I tried to talk myself out of what I was seeing in real time. But after replaying the situation, I couldn't unsee it. My date and I had an 8:00 PM Valentine's Day reservation and arrived on time. We checked in with the hostess and were told our table would be ready "in a moment," which was totally fine. We stood and waited patiently. Shortly after, a white couple walked in behind us and told the hostess they technically had an 8:15 PM reservation but were told to come at 8:00. They were seated immediately. We looked at each other but didn't say anything -- we figured maybe they had something ready and ours was being turned over. Then another white couple came in with an 8:00 PM reservation and was also seated right away. At this point, we were still standing there. No update. No explanation. No reassurance. All three parties were groups of two. There was no difference in party size, and we were on time for our reservation. Being skipped once might be a mistake. Being skipped twice, with no communication at all, felt intentional and uncomfortable. We were left standing there feeling confused and honestly unwelcome. If there was a legitimate reason for the delay, it was never communicated to us. No "your table is being cleared," no "we're just running behind," nothing. Just silence while other couples were seated in front of us. What was the difference between their table and ours that we were moved to the side to stand and wait? Everyone was a party of 2. We arrived on time and were the first ones in the door.. I truly didn't want to believe what this looked like, but it became impossible to ignore. We ended up leaving because the situation made us feel disrespected and unwanted as customers. Valentine's Day is obviously a busy night, but fairness and basic communication are non-negotiable. I would not recommend this place, and I especially would not recommend it to people of color based on how we were treated.
