I don't have the curly hair, rather wavy and frizzy but it takes a punch to get it straight, she listened to what I wanted and took account of my hair needing a serious treatment. The results were fabulous. If you are looking for straightening I highly recommend Katie as she enjoys doing it and does a lot of them do she knows her stuff. Once I had my straightening I trusted her to cut my hair and I'm really picky about who cuts my hair because it doesn't lay right if it's not cut with expertise. I haven't gone to anyone else since I started coming to An Epic Salon. Then I started having Katie color my hair which wa big deal for me as I've only colored it a handful of times previously. So now Katie is my go-to straightening, cut and colorist. She's also good with kids and has cut (and colored) my son and daughter's hair. In fact she's doing cuts for both of them during my next color appt.

Zak is so welcoming and very easy to relax with during a major hairstyle change with highlights. I totally trusted him, showed him a picture for an idea and then said do what you think is good. He is a master colorist and hairstylist. I felt so comfortable (hard for this 75 year old). By the time he was done. I felt like a new person and 15 years younger. I have received so many wonderful compliments. I can hardly wait to return to listen to his Tennessee charm and his humor. I was lucky to find him.

I learned that there is a "drive by" service for hair coloring (regular colors I believe) where Alisia throws the color on, and you process and rinse off at home. Pretty creative thinking ! I went in for a hair trim and conditioning treatment, Alisia even showed me how I can replicate the service at home. I had my mom with me and she was very sweet with her, and carried a nice conversation. In addition, she gave me some helpful tips in hair care. Her seat is never empty it seems as she is very efficient in handling multiple clients with multiple services. It seems to be a friendly salon and I would strong consider returning for future services.

I followed Alisia here from A Little Zen which was also pretty small, so this was a relief for me. I am pretty sensitive to sensory inputs so some salons are just too much. I love the Nevada themed decor here and new(ish) window art. There's free Wifi, but I have never had to wait so I don't really use that (but I like the option). Everything is clean and the other stylists seem friendly and not pretentious, another big plus. It's just welcoming and down to earth. Most importantly, I love the haircuts I get for extremely reasonable prices ($35! for my short/medium hair). Yesterday I got my eyebrows tinted and waxed and Alisia did a fantastic job. I plan to have her do some color at some point, because I know she is a color genius.
