My fiancé and I came here Valentine's Day morning for a cup of joe and breakfast. The shop was full of people having their morning coffee and catchups. We ended up ordering a couple of vanilla lattes and some of the sweets they had on display. We thought they had crepes but the barista explained they had those on certain days and invited us to come back which I thought was nice. I wanted somewhere to just read for a bit. I also wanted to challenge myself to ignore Starbucks and find a local business. After a bit of research, I came across The Corner Cup. It's in the corner of a strip mall so you have to pull in to see it. I started out with a hot chocolate and end up with a spinach feta couissant. Overall the place is ok. Why yes, i'd love Nitrogen in my coffee! When I took a stop at The Corner Cup, the quaint little coffee shop just seemed like, well, a quaint little coffee shop. It IS a small store, only being able to sit maybe 12 people or so. But there's definitely more than meets the eye here. As staff described their different types of beverages once they found out this was my first day, they ended their drink tour on their Nitrogen infused coffee, which is a cold brew, high caffeine treat that doesn't come with any sugar or cream. This treat was $5.25. So what about all that caffeine?? Well, I have to be honest that I was a little disappointed in the caffeine content. I haven't had a lot of coffee lately and while I picked up the cup at 3pm, I was in bed by 11. The flavor of the coffee was pretty good however, and the liquid nitrogen kept the coffee cold by not diluting the coffee with ice (like a traditional iced coffee would). Located at the corner of Lawrenceville Highway and McLendon Drive, the Corner Cup is in the same strip that houses the likes of Pea Ridge or Southern seafood. Parking is shared and spots are not as plentiful as you might think. The lot IS maneagable but a little cramped. Customer service was excellent, friendly and eager to explain everything to me, and while I would have loved to try one of their desserts, I was on a sugar/carb diet, and couldn't have any, though they looked great! So if we were just going on caffeine, the Corner Cup would get 3 stars at the most from me, but because of the excellent customer service and flavor of the coffee, I don't mind edging them up to a 4 star service. I got a medium iced latte with vanilla and oat milk and it was amazing! The shop is quite small with limited seating and difficult parking, but once inside the atmosphere and ambience makes up for it. If you're looking to support more local/ small businesses, this is the place to try. read more

Finally, a neighborhood shop that makes good coffee! I love this location because it's not heavily congested and right next to Pea Ridge (great lunch spot). When we walked in we saw the menu had classics and a few unique drinks (macha latte). I got a latte with almond milk and almond syrup and let me tell you this drink was phenomenal. Something most baristas struggle with is getting almond milk to foam up when steamed. Another issue is foam-to-milk-ratio (gosh I sound high maintenance!). I wasn't feeling too adventurous so I went for the breve latte (latte with half-and-half instead of milk), and it was quite tasty. 20/100 - Such a cute little cafe! I don't live on this side of town but I'm around here at least twice a month since its down the street from one of the few cake supply stores in town. It's in the corner of a little plaza right next to a music shop and it was lovely. The owner (Ryan or Richard maybe?) could not have been nicer! He greeted everyone with a smile and was genuinely happy to help answer questions. I ordered their white chocolate mocha frappe with almond milk and he included a delicious cookie straw - what could be better? I'm a coffee snob. If you get coffee from me I know the origin down to the farm. These guys know their coffee! Always freshly roasted and brewed. The espresso comes from a French Quarter market and a has been roasting this blend since the1860s. It's the best cappuccino on the market. Fast friendly and spot on brews. Cure coffee shops are everyone's favorite... especially when they make and serve Tea too. I don't drink coffee. But I ordered an Earl Grey Tea Latte (London Fog for those who know) it was absolutely fantastic. So soothing and warm and I loved it. The service was speedy and friendly. It's a cozy spot, but the pickins were kinda slim. They did have almond croissants with generously slathered almond paste, but the croissant itself wasn't particularly flavorful (not as buttery or as soft as they coulda been). i got a blueberry muffin and an iced chai latte (they have coconut milk!!) and they were DELICIOUS!! the smoothies are all used with real fruit purée, and they even have nondairy whip cream. they have simple syrup and other common add-ons set out to the side to make sure your drinks are as sweet as you need. theres also a bagel slicer, toaster, and a microwave out to warm your food. incredibly thoughtful of them, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. theyve also got some local artists and makers around the shop for sale, adding a unique style to the shop the menu was a little daunting, but they were happy to answer any questions. i couldnt tell if flavor syrups were extra because they werent on the menu, but i only noticed them after id paid and i didnt wanna be a bother asking. totally on me though, ill be sure to check next time!! the volume level was comfortable, especially as a person who has sensory issues. id be happy to sit down for a coffee next time i visit. thank you so much!! read more

I would consider moving just to be closer to this coffee house. Great coffee, friendly staff, and delicious snacks. Best of all, if you want to bring the experience home, you can purchase bags of their delicious brews. So don't be afraid to go past the big coffee chains and head here. Can't believe how long I waited to visit this coffee shop! I stopped in with the kids after school on a Friday. I found the shop to be really cute and cozy. Plenty of easy parking. Not too loud and not too quiet. Staff members were very patient with the brief chaos my group created while picking out pastries and tea flavors. They were probably more patient with the kids than I myself was. I ordered a hot caramel mocha. It was awesome, one of the best coffee drinks I've had in a long time. Kids really loved the Mighty Leaf teas that were being served. There was a nice, large selection! We took our order to go this time (see: chaotic kids in tow). I'll definitely be back another time when I can soak up the atmosphere a little more. read more

Finally a way to get coffee in this neighborhood other than Dunkin' Donuts or Starbucks. The cafe has a wide variety of coffee and espresso base beverages as well as a wide selection of baked goods. I also tried their walnut biscotti and it was good. They get their baked goods and other products from various sources like dekalb farmers market, southern seeds, ducks kitchen, city bagels My husband and I are coffee connoisseurs. Its definitely not the best cup we ever had but it's good for what it is. Definitely better than driving to Dunkin or Starbucks though. Plenty of parking. I stopped here on a whim on a Monday afternoon and was so thankful I did! This little coffee shop is tucked away in Decatur, but it's really neat, yet warm place. It's small, but cozy and welcoming. As I walked in, I was greeted by the owner and was welcomed right in. There were a ton of options to choose from, ranging from Nitrogen coffee, cold brew, Vietnamese coffee, basic espresso made drinks, frappes, speciality drinks and even smoothies. The also have locally made Kombucha and some pastries too. They have a wide variety of alternative milks, which is a plus for me. Prices were very reasonable. I was only in the mood for something really simple and easy, so I ended up ordering a black cup of coffee. I grabbed by coffee and a seat so I can get some work done. The wifi was great. It wasn't busy when I was there, so it was a quiet environment. Can't wait to come back and try something else! This is probably my new spot for Monday's and I am pretty thrilled about it. read more
