I've eaten here before, decent food, but trying a bit too hard to be exclusive with pedestrian ingredients. However, my complaint is about the service not the food. My daughter and I went for lunch; Me: "hi! I would like two orders of avocado toast with a fried egg." Server: "hold on...I'm sorry, we can't do that." Me: "ha, ha, funny ....(awkward silence) ...."seriously?, there is an egg sandwich on the menu??"! Server; "yes, but that is not a fried egg" Me: ??? What? "Seriously??...ok thank you and goodbye, have a nice day" Happy ending is that we went up the road to Atwater's on falls and they were more then happy to add the fried egg to their awesome avocado toast! read more

The Corner Pantry is a new addition to the Mount Washington / Falls Road area of Baltimore. It went in where one of my favorites, Banksy's Cafe closed. A friend and I were headed up to Towson to meet some friends so we decided to cross another place off of my to-do list and visit The Corner Pantry which I've read rave reviews about. When we walked inside, we were met with trendy and inviting decor, but it was a beautiful day so we decided to eat outside after ordering from the counter. A few weeks prior, I had visited Shoo Fly Diner and loved their biscuit and jam so I decided to order that here. Unfortunately they were already sold out of biscuits for the day (they're all made on the premises) so the girl at the counter suggested a crumpet. The crumpet was light and buttery, and tasted delicious with the jam. Unfortunately I cannot remember what flavor it was. I also ordered the Skinny Egg Sandwich and this was delicious. The sandwich came with scrambled whites, avocado, feta, spinach and caramelized onion on ciabatta. This was a great breakfast sandwich and I really enjoyed the fresh bread that it came on. My friend ordered the Corner Pantry Mac & Cheese. She loved the flavor and the crunch from the breadcrumbs, but wished that the noodles were smaller like they usually are in a mac and cheese. But the cheesy flavor of this dish was on point. To finish up our meal, my friend and I decided to split a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was good, but nothing was particularly special about it. I found this place on-line & immediately knew I had to check it out. Everything look ver fresh in pictures, from the desserts to the salad bar they have as an option. I ordered the chicken and bacon waffle sandwich, but subbed my bread for ciabatta bread. I wasn't craving a waffle. I have to say my sandwich was DELICIOUS! You can tell the bread is baked in house or that they get their bread from a grade A bakery. The spread is made in house, the chef was actually making sandwiches as they were ordered and service would come & deliver them to you. I can go on and on. The chicken tasted like it was oven back, perfect amount of seasoning so it did not over power the sandwich the mixture of the ingredients in the sandwich. Fresh lettuce, tomato, the bacon was thick cut and not super fried like most places give you. I also ordered a side of pesto mayo ( amazing ). The sandwich came with a side of house made chips. You can tell they were made fresh! Had a vinegar hint. They were great!! My friend ordered the smoked turkey. It was definitely smoked. You could taste the smokiness in every bit of the sandwich. The added cheddar is shredded and super tiny, but it's great bc it's in every bite! She also ordered a Lemonade. Delicious! It was not super sweet like other lemonades. Rather, it was very traditional! Tart, semi-sweet & just perfect. We both really enjoyed our visit & the portion was phenomenal. We both had to take the other half of our sandwiches home. Quant, intimate and a handful of seats inside. Outside patio which is nice. The line can come out the door. The customer service was amazing. Everyone was very polite, thoughtful and helpful. We love the Corner Pantry! The food is scrumptious and fresh. We usually have our 'treat' by going there on the weekend! In theory, the COVID response is great with tables reserved to ensure safe distance, people with visors. And, we understand now everything goes perfectly. At the same time, we were disappointed and dismayed both with a customer and how some staff responded to our complaint. An individual cake in and sat down behind us at a clearly marked table with a reserved sign. We pointed this out to the customer, and he said he saw the sign. I told him the table was supposed to stay empty, yet he would not leave. I approached a staff member, who visited and said that yes, the table was marked reserved, but the customer could still use it if socially distanced. The staff member and customer seemed to convince each other that 4' really was 6' and that it was OK to stay. Another individual served that customer, and made a comment that I only can take as critical of us by saying to the customer, 'They need this...WE don't need this). I assume the staff member was referring to the protection and social distancing. We did not appreciate the snarky comment, and the experience ruined our meal. This is a VERY different message from the controlled seating and social distancing we had the prior couple of weeks. I want the Corner Pantry to succeed...and I hope that management takes time to re-educate employees and show that there is a complete commitment to safety. We follow the rules, and so should everyone else. Unfortunately, we've had to take our weekly brunch business elsewhere, as we do not feel our concerns were taken seriously. My only complaint about this spot is that this place is a 15-20 minute drive from my house, because if it was closer I'd be there everyday! I went for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and it was relatively empty but I could see how this place would be packed from open-close any day of the week if it was located in the city. Maybe it being a little out of the way is actually a positive. For lunch I had the Chicken & Waffle BLT and a caramel latte. The chicken was perfectly roasted on the sandwich and the waffle had a perfect crunch to it but still mostly soft on the inside. I can't wait to go back and try out the breakfast menu and some of the house made baked goods!! read more

I wished I had tried this place earlier. It's great. A hipster/Tribeca/Greenwich vibe with food that can hold it's own in NYC. The cinnamon/sugar diet- not soft, but dense with some substance. The egg and cheese sandwich- the biscuit is delicious and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The skinny egg sandwich was equally good without the fatty goodness of the biscuit and bacon. We also enjoyed the buckwheat pancakes and the La Colombe coffee was some of the best I've had in a long time. So, I will definitely return and wished they were open Sundays and for dinner! read more

The skinny egg sandwich is the best thing on earth. Grab one of those with a chocolate chip cookie and a latte and you're good to go! Food never takes more than 10 minutes so it's super convenient. I went for the first time this week. There is plenty of parking. I went in for a carryout breakfast sandwich. And then I saw yummy looking chocolate chip cookies so I came out with both. Who doesn't need a sugar rush at 10am? The service was friendly and helpful. I ordered a skinny breakfast sandwich with egg white, spinach, feta and avocado. The sandwich was more expensive than the typical but then I saw how big it was and its a good deal. The ingredients tasted fresh and the bread was very good. The chocolate chip cookie was big and one of the best I've had. It's $2.50 and you only need half of it. Again, pricey but worth it for a special treat. On my next visit I plan to try a lunch sandwich (and another cookie!). read more

Holy moly this place was such a pleasant surprise. I was visiting my mom in Maryland and we just looked up a random brunch spot and came across the corner pantry. My sister got falafel (amazing) I got the pork belly banh mi (good but the pork had a weird smell and taste to it and I don't think it was super fresh) and my mom just got some things from the cold bar. They had salmon cakes which were WOW so good and then LITERALLY everything else she got from the cold bar was soooooooo so so good I really want them to cater my wedding when and if that day comes. It's a little pricey I paid around 70$ for coffee and one plate each for the 3 of us but it was 100% worth it!!!!!! I need to come back here again and I highly recommend it. Just wow. read more

Gluten Free diets are not to be taken lightly. When a menu item says "GF" then an ingredient "pita chips" should be made with gluten free flour. Not here. The Falafel Salad says "GF/V". I mistakenly took the "V" as "vegan" and didn't see the feta in the list of ingredients. When I found the feta in my salad I asked about it and was told the salad was vegetarian. OK - that was my mistake. Then I asked if the pita chips were gluten free and was told no, they were not. Seriously? The staff unenthusiastically and unapologetically offered to make me another salad. Between their attitude, the negligent way they treat "gluten free" and the flies crawling all over the foods, I will never return to this place. read more

This breakfast place is the best breakfast place I've had breakfast in the last five years. No joke. I loved it. I had the eggs avocado and quinoa. The taste combination was fantastic as well as the fact that I did not need to eat lunch that day because it was so filling. Prices were very reasonable and there was quite a bit of attention to detail about the ingredients that they sourced. We also had the breakfast sandwich on delicious fresh baked bread. I'm a high school senior who has frequented this place almost every week for the past couple of years, and I have to say that the Corner Pantry is required visiting if you ever trek into the Roland Park area. The food is consistently great. My breakfast favorites are the skinny egg sandwich and the quinoa bowl. My lunch favorites are the smoked turkey sandwich, the coconut milk poached chicken salad, and the waffle BLT. All of these items are always prepared not only deliciously, but beautifully as well. The employees at TCP care, too. They'll always make an effort to greet or make you feel like you're family. It's awesome to have a friendly cafe that you can feel totally comfortable in. Also, parking is so easy. There's a lot right out front which usually has spots, otherwise behind the place is a huge lot that you'll always find a place to park in. 5 stars! read more

I've been to this place 3 times now and would say it is a solid 4 stars. The biscuits and cookies are consistently good and the employees efficient and friendly. Very cute interior and several outdoor tables. Good for a quick lunch or breakfast with a friend or two but the place is not really built for larger groups. I like that you can order and pay for everything up front so you can leave when you are done. Again the food is good but by no means mind blowing but all together a satisfying experience every time I've gone. I recommend it to people in the area but wouldn't cross oceans to visit :-). read more

This place is thoroughly delightful. Don't hesitate to come here. My husband and I are visiting for a family event. We stopped in on a Saturday at 10 am. The place was busy but not unpleasantly so and they do a fantastic job with expediting food and drinks. We chose some items from the cold bar area (deviled eggs, smoked salmon tartines, and a lobster and onion topped puff pastry). We also ordered the French toast skillet, a Cornish pasty, a crumpet, a coffee, and a latte. Everything was delicious. The manager and the staff were working in synergy and doing a fantastic job. You order at the counter and then get a number to take to the table of your choice and they bring your food to you. We will definitely be back when we visit family in the area. read more

Two words: tiramisu doughnut. Where have you been all my life? A perfectly soft, glazed doughnut filled with Mascarpone cream and topped with a coffee glaze, which was then dusted with cocoa powder. Tasted exactly like tiramisu but better. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture and then I went back inside to snag one and they were all gone. The smoked turkey sandwich and roasted red pepper sandwich were divine as well. So many unique components, like the pistachio pesto and the jalapeño aioli, I can't list them all. The bread was soft and fluffy and the homemade chips might be the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back! read more

The worst part about any vacation is that moment, weeks after it's ended, when you remember how awesome it was, and simultaneously realize that you're thinking of it in the past tense -- that it's gone and won't return anytime soon. We had the trip of a lifetime in the UK early in the summer, and about a month after returning we started to crave things like sausage rolls, crumpets, chutney and hot tea without a fuss or even a raised eyebrow (everyone drinks it there, so no one resents having to fix it for you the way they do on this side of the pond.) So, in the midst of one of those fits of nostalgia, on a whim I typed in "British" to Yelp's magical search engine, blinked, rubbed my eyes, and before I was halfway through the menu I was grabbing my husband by the collar and hightailing it to Falls Road. Upon arriving, we were pleasantly surprised by the ease with which we were able to find a parking spot, then a table, then about a dozen lovely options for late-morning brunch. Ordering at the counter is fine by me -- it lowers the cost of the meal in the end, even though I usually contribute to the tip jar on my way out anyway -- and in this case it was perfect, because it gave us a chance to scope out the cold bar. What a delightful concept: reasonable portions of fruit, cheese and other delectables, with the ability to visually examine them before you purchase. We shared a bruleed grapefruit half, which was fantastic, along with huge mugs of tea -- British Breakfast for me and a delicious tea latte for him that came with two teabags and probably a pint of steamed milk. Oh my goodness, it was delightfully fragrant. We moved onto entrees: I had the Fat Egg Sandwich (because, come on, anything with "Fat" in the name is going to be awesome!) and my husband got the Chicken & Waffles, which is admittedly not very British but I have never known him to turn down that dish. Both were delicious, hot and crispy and perfectly seasoned. We lapsed into silence as we sipped tea between bites and, in our minds, were transported back to the gray drizzle of the United Kingdom where such wonders are commonplace. On our way out, of course, we stocked up: sausage rolls, biscuits, even a maple-glazed donut because we just couldn't resist. Everything was delicious, even a couple of days when we finally made it to the bottom of the bag! We couldn't wait to return, and in fact I find it hard to believe we haven't yet, several months later. Speaking of English food, Jacques Chirac famously remarked, "One cannot trust people whose cuisine is so bad." Jacques Chirac has never eaten at the Corner Pantry. Meat and 2 veg plates this is not. If all English food was this good, the former President of France would have joked, "One cannot trust people whose cuisine is so good." The smoothies are fabulous. You've never had an authentic English muffin before you had one here. They're nothing like Thomas's. Crumpets and scones and biscuits and breads are baked in house. Each visit finds some new, inventive salad and sandwich (sarnies) on the menu. The owner/chef Neil is always there making sure the food is fresh and the service fast and friendly. I tried this place out for the 1st time after leaving my doctor's appointment. The food was excellent but the service was not very good. The employees were not pleasant. I tried to joke with the cashier about all the treats I order, but he basically said nothing. Not sure if I caught the staff on a bad day. Their chocolate chip cookie is one of the best I've ever had as it's very doughy. I stumbled upon this cafe and boy is it cute. The decor is a perfect blend of French American chic with the stainless steel bar, pastries, and antiqued chairs. The staff is welcoming and enjoyable, not to mention the tall scruffed handsome chef was not bad to look at either. I ordered the mango lassie smoothie and sausage stuffed pastry. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the smoothie which almost entirely lacked the pineapple and mango flavors, nor was it entirely cold. The sausage stuffed pastry was pretty well developed, although it could use some tweaking. The pastry was nice and fluffy, the sausage was pleasantly herbed, and the barbecue sauce it was paired with definitely made it memorable, but it could use a bit more cheese to hold it together and it could have used a couple more seconds in the warmer as it was lukewarm in the center. The menu is pleasing to the eye but the specialties would benefit from some explanation as to what exactly they are. All and all, I definitely will be returning to try some other menu items and enjoy the atmosphere soon. read more

I've been coming here since the place opened and the food is good for the most part, a bit on the expensive side, but good non the less. However things have been going down hill since they have brought on some new front of the house staff. Very rude and snarky to say the least. Specifically a tall, somewhat overweight blonde woman who mans the register and a short mousey brunette that bops around behind the counter. On more than one occasion I have seen them be condescending and rude to customers for not standing in line correctly or for not having there table number properly facing the kitchen area. This place is going downhill. Sad as it was a gem. read more

The staff here are the most friendly helpful people I've ever met with in this capacity! One of the cashiers went out of her way to get me muesli (which was absolutely delicious, way better than I thought muesli could be) after breakfast had been over for hours and put away. I paid for a coke with that order and forgot to grab it, I went back the next day and a different cashier let me grab one on my word, customer service above and beyond what I would expect. Also, their peanut butter banana bacon house-made pop tarts are a spiritual experience. Literally stopped me in my tracks. read more
