Came with a friend on Sunday afternoon, good availability of seating so we grabbed seats at the bar. I ordered the Qtr Water aka the lovely drink you see pictured, it was sooooo yummers!! Tasted like summer, super pretty and the bartender was kind enough to explain the ingredients. Will 100% be coming back here to try some of the other drinks on the menu (they have a Dorito flavored drink ), very casual, laidback, easy vibes. This is a cute spot around the block from me that I've always been curious about. I decided to sit outside recently for a tea and breakfast moment, it's so nice how the tables are looking out on the street and not something you get a whole lot in the neighborhood. The service outside was a tad slow but the server was very kind, and the croissant breakfast sandwich I ordered was yummy, bacon was nice and crispy but a little too much cheese. Nice that it comes with home fries too. Overall I liked my experience here, and they have fun events almost every night it seems. Wow......so many levels to this - really too much for a Yelp review ...... for starters, there are almost no bars or pubs open at lunch that serve food anymore anywhere around here - & when I say anywhere, I mean like all the way from Bushwick (including Bushwick), south through Bed Stuy, down through Flatbush, until you hit Marine Park / S Midwood. (Captain Dan's in Bed Stuy is an exception - so it's almost none - not zero - but close). So - they get 5 stars, simply for being open at lunch, & having both Guinness, & a traditional, imported, fresh European pils on tap (Peroni), & lunch food. There was also a 3rd draught (of course it was an IPA). The Peroni was cold, fresh, crisp, & delicious on a 90+ / real feel 100+ deg July day. It's clean inside & the staff is friendly, attentive, & courteous. That all being said - it's clear from the clientele, that in order to be open @ lunch, & to provide the public service of both freshly cooked food & natural beer, they mainly act as a cafe during the day, & then turn into a "cocktail bar" in the evening. By cafe, I mean - almost every table is taken by individuals only, (all - every single one) on their laptops. Not like a cafe where people are reading newspapers & having conversations. Very quiet ambient music plays so as not to disturb the people "working". The bar area itself is also mostly full of people staring at their laptops. This is some real post-apocalyptic vibes. There was also a guy pacing back & forth out front yelling large #'s & corporate gibber-speak into his phone as well. Everything about this place is a magnified caricature of gentrification. No one seems to want to go to a pub at lunch anymore, but everyone seems to want to park at a cafe the entire day & "work" on their laptop. I have an idea - what about "working" on your computer at home, then going to a local pub for lunch & a drink, & then going back to work, & sparing everyone your zombification & inane work convo's ?! This is obv unpopular, as no one does this, & almost all the pubs are gone, & all we have are 10,000 coffee shops. Are people really just eating a croissant for lunch ?! Note: the food here is above average, small portions, & pricey - but not any moreso than similar places. I know they do not want to be judged as bar during the day - but as a cafe during the day that happens to have drinks. But still - ugh! read more

While it's a cute concept, located on the corner with ample seating, this place was ok. The portions are on the smaller side, with a $17 salad being almost a side portion, and thus salmon toast clocking in at $15 without any side salad or accompaniment. Even though the restaurant was not busy, the food took a while to come out. The salmon toast tasted good with the whipped ricotta underneath, but it wasn't enough as a main and I left feeling hungry. I was out running errands and my energy levels were on LOW. I needed coffee badly! Spotted The Corner Store, across from my nail salon. Never noticed this place before so I believe it's super new to the neighborhood. I stopped in for coffee but I didn't know there was also a full bar available- I'm talking real booze and wine. I ordered coffee with an espresso shot to go. Wish I would've had time to sit at the bar and really imbibe. Should have grabbed one of the delicious looking pastries on display at the bar as well. I will absolutely be going back to the cute and cozy Corner Store Brooklyn, to linger and sip. Nice place! read more

I definitely don't need another neighborhood spot in my rotation...but this spot is way to good not to be! I came here for a food event done by eat the rich. pop up called the anti valentine day pop up. This spot seems to have different food pop ups often and I'm here for it! The chef had a roast beef crostini and ceaser salad that was toooo good. That with the drinks the bartender was slinging was perfect. Kush can most likely make any drink you can think of, plus more. He was just that good. It was a fun night of pass the mic, a quick line dance and lots of laughs. The owners definitely made people feel so welcomed. Came here for breakfast as I had my eye on this place since I heard it made its appearance on Nostrans Avenue. I finally ceased the opportunity on my off. We sat at the bar which was empty. The place had the usually work from homers occupied on their laptop enjoying their menu items. The music was chill and provided a good mix of oldies. I ordered a vanilla almond milk latte which was deliciously balanced and just how I like it; not too sweet and strong. We ordered a couple menu items. BTW, I like the menu options, very much a good variety. I had the mango chow, smoked salmon toast, and the chopped cheese sandwich. The mango chow was good, not great. I did miss some spice. The salmon toast with the whipped ricotta was very tasty. The capers and picked red onion provided the perfect sweet and salty flavors needed. I will return, maybe at night to enjoy a cocktail and oysters. read more

So rare that a new store opens up and immediately becomes a neighborhood institution. Corner Store is a great work cafe during the day. Good coffee, good work tables, good food, couple outlets too. At night, it becomes an excellent bar. The people who work here are absolute sweethearts. They used to blast the music a bit too much for my taste, making it a bit trying to work during the day or hear each other at night. Now that they've chilled on the volume, it's the perfect spot. I ate here today and the patio seating was a great choice for a relaxed meal, with stylish green glassware that added a fresh vibe to the group table. The quesadilla arrived topped with crisp arugula and shaved parmesan, which made it look inviting, but the filling was a bit dry and there were no salsa or dipping sauces to help bring out more flavor. Service was friendly, though a little slow on refills and check-ins. I would rate the quesadilla 4 out of 5 for taste and appearance, while the service gets a 3 out of 5. The atmosphere makes it worth a visit, but next time I'd ask for salsa on the side for a better bite read more

On a lazy cloudy early Sunday afternoon I went into The Corner Store, I had been in this particular space before but,under the direction of a different establishment. On that Sunday I met Camello, he was easy going and easy to talk to I had a strong Hot toddy, a couple of beers and late breakfast, ( scrambled eggs and bacon, I believe but the culinary experience was a positive one!!!!!) started coming here after Two Saints. This place is a gem. Workers are so kind, both morning and night. the morning crew realized on their own they got my coffee order wrong (i dont usually like to complain so i took my L) and went next door to my job to hand me my right order. like whaaaaat. amazing. and don't get me started with Kush, the bartender. I just happened to walk past this place, which feels like it popped out of nowhere in the neighborhood. And I'm glad I did! This is a hybrid coffee shop/cocktail bar that has a nice, new, sleek look to it. And the coffee is excellent (and includes free refills, which is super rare in NYC). Nice place good food. the service is borderline terrible. They take forever to greet you. They are not accommodating. I come here all the time had brunch and tried to order a coffee at 4:07. They said espresso machine was closed at 4. I never got a last call considering I was eating brunch. They don't smile, make recommendations, they don't ask if your meal is okay they just drop the menu in front of you and look at you like you're a homeless beggar. Even though I tip them well. I get better service at chic fil a. Everyone I talk to who lives in the area says the same thing about this place. Which is such a shame cause the owner is so nice. read more

I'm not sure if it was the space on Nostrand or just the space itself. I truly enjoyed the soft opening , my only take away would be the lack of privacy so a little privacy tint on the windows would make me feel a little less like I'm in a fishbowl.
