Endswell has a great happy hour that is everyday until 7pm. They have $11 cocktails like old fashioned, $9 wines, and a $5 beer which are reasonably priced! We came on a Wednesday around 630pm and it was packed but we were able to get a table for 4 after waiting 10 minutes. Order frites because they're $2 off during HH and they are perfectly cooked and seasoned. Definitely so tasty! Just an exceptional, under the radar restaurant and bar which features and incredibly tasty burger. Their double-patty smash burger topped with a unique and incredibly flavorful raclette cheese was excellent, served with a generous side of truffle fries that were nice and crispy, well-seasoned and excellent as well. Have also enjoyed the moules frites as well as the roasted salmon with farro--all solid meals, good portion size--have never left a meal here anything but sated and happy. Cocktail game here is excellent as well--they tend to offer slight twists on classics--their Pink Lady, which is a take on a mezcal negroni--is a particular favorite--though you can't go wrong with a traditional classic like a martini or old fashioned here as well. Very good wine options as well. Very few taps or cans, but what they had was solid. Love the vibe here as well, just quiet, low-key, no frills bar/restaurant, with great, friendly, efficient service. It all feels effortlesi, though I am sure it is far from that. Just a gem that is perfect for any occasion--I would imagine perfect for a date night. That being said, I found easy street parking and had a great visit. I had the steak frites medium. Cooked appropriately with hot and crispy fries, I do wish there was a little more seasoning. Other mains included squash risotto, mussels, salmon, coq au vin, and more. They have a small appetizer menu with something for everyone, and I wish I had ordered the smoked trout deviled eggs. They have a great looking brunch menu too, though I obviously didn't try that. The cocktails were the stars! So light, refreshing, delicious. The menu is divided into bold & boozy, bright & balanced, crisp & cool, rich & regal, and seasonal. I had: Lumier spritz (for gin & tonic drinkers) with gin, lime, peychauds, tonic, cucumber, mint bouquet, and pink peppercorn. Pois (for margarita drinkers) with mezcal, genepy, snap pea, and lime. La Colombe (for Paloma drinkers) with mezcal, pear brandy, grapefruit, ginger, lime, and horse radish. And the cocktail of the week, bartenders choice. Your typical hipster restaurant/bar where it seems like good reviews are taken back from great vibes/service/ and decor. However, food and drinks really fall short. I wanted to try some French in New York and thought this fusion would be interesting. Little did I know, it was definitely 99% American and not very French. The onion soup was uneditable due to how bad the onion ratio was. You could bite into a raw onion and it would taste better. The steak was very subpar, and the lamb had no taste and was very firm. I thought at least the drinks would be it's saving grace. However, the drinks were either too spicy, too sweet, or very unbalanced. This has been the only place in New York that I had a bad drink. 3 stars because although the food and drinks were very mediocre, the service was wonderful and the restaurant itself was very nice and presentable. If you try here, definitely just do drinks as the food is not worth, but there are so many more places around to do that. read more

Our visit here was kind of perfect. The reviews are not wrong about the ambience, and most of all, the service. We came in looking for part two of a night - a healthy medium of lively yet relaxed. Arriving the day before a holiday didn't hurt either. Endswell has fancy bar shelving for a reason. Come here if you want a COCKTAIL. I had the apple bourbon special of the week and it was dangerously crushable. The other drinks, including enticing mock tails, were also good. We tried some dishes that were also quite tasty, but not as memorable as the cocktails. Would love to come back and make this the first destination so as to have an empty stomach to try more of the menu. I am not sure if they were just having an off night, as this was my first visit here, but the food was not great. The two items we did enjoy were the deviled eggs and the drumsticks, however, everything else left something to be desired. We ordered the mussels and there was something off about the broth... and it was so incredibly salty that we couldn't even bring ourselves to finish them- and neither of us like to waste food. We also ordered the pate and it was honestly flavorless, but all the other fixings on the spread were good. We ordered the salad nicoise as well and there were only four tiny pieces of tuna on the salad and they had not been salted at all. I was hoping our waiter would check on us to see how we were doing so we could tell him about the food, but he didn't except for at very beginning of the meal before all of the items had come out. However, I understand restaurants are understaffed right now so I wont hold that against him. I will say that the drinks were really good. I had the malbec and my friend ordered a few cocktails that she enjoyed. The food was a huge disappointment though. read more

If you walk through Fort Greene, you've probably passed by Endswell! It's on Fulton with a bunch of other restaurants and bars. They're known for their cocktails but per yelp - also their food! So we came for a late dinner on Friday. Most of the tables inside/outside were full, but the server told us he'd figure something out and they were serving food til midnight. He was super busy serving and cleaning tables and I think he was the only one! When we finally got a table outside, there wasn't a QR code or menu, so we just went on their website to look at the options. We waited about 10 mins for him to bring us water and to tell us that their menu is on their website. Then waited another 10 mins to take our order. I totally understand businesses are short staffed! but to open to full capacity without enough support is really tough on both the workers and customers For food we got 2 to share - summer salad: very large portion! but a pretty simple salad. It comes with arugula, goat cheese, tomatoes, and roasted carrots with a balsamic vinaigrette. I really enjoyed this salad, it was pretty tasty! but again, simple - mussels + frites: fries are pretty solid, but mussels in broth were quite lacking. It also comes with crunchy slices of toast that are more like crackers. The broth reminded us of like a thin clam chowder? interesting, but prob wouldn't get again. As for drinks, all cocktails are $14 - Petale: vodka, rose, lemon. I really liked this drink! It was very light and refreshing - Tarte: tequila, aperol, lemon. Much stronger than the petale, but my bf still liked it! We probably wouldn't come back for the food, but maybe for drinks if we're in the area and it's not too busy. read more

This was incredibly delicious. I will be back solely because of the cocktail. However, I ordered the moules frites---while the fries were good, the mussels were full of sediment/shell. They kindly moved us as the high tables with stools would not be good for my mother. Our table was by a leaky AC, but it all worked out because none of us sat in the one seat. Both specialty cocktails on the featured menu (loved the Pétale) and off the menu cocktails (espresso martini) were very good and perfect for afternoon drinks. There's several outdoor tables, although only 2 are covered (as of mid-December), and the remaining are in a small area in the blocked off street. I visited this place last night And I'll tell you this now. Quality. This was the second time I visited this place and experienced both high and low traffic and they performed perfectly in both. Pros: the attitudes are VERY FRIENDLY here. From the time you're waiting to be seated to paying. Very inclusive. Safe and calming environment was built here. Pros: The food. I had the salmon with was exquisite. Empanadas which was brought out at a decent temperature (which is important) to enjoy as soon as it was placed on my table. Risotto was the best I'd ever had. Literally. I'd eat the whole pot if given a chance. And lastly the crem brûlée (sp). ALL were cooked to perfection. That's no child in that kitchen. Cons: the guacamole was not fresh with the empanada and was a bit too creamy. This is a small venue and last I was there I was seated by the pickup window and that was a bit of a high traffic area because it's also the place where people pass to use the bathroom. My second bartender was busy making everyone's drinks so it was harder for me to get the check and leave. There were two people dining alone and three couples dining there while i was there so a perf place for solo dining at the bar or a date night. When things pick up and more people are there, i felt as though the bar was deprioritized and single diners can get lost in the mix. This isn't 5 stars for the service.
