Decided to update my review since it has been a year. We popped in over the weekend to try out their chili for the chili cook-off and try some of their wings. Their chili is so good! It is my favorite so far, and we have tried about 13. I wish I lived closer so I would be able to get at their chili more often! The wings were good. I wish they were more meaty but loved their sauces. Our waitress was great and let us have dry wings because I wanted different sauces than my husband. The sweet Buffalo and butter maple are amazing!!! Such good flavor!

Great food! We got the buffalo chicken and the hamburger Mac and Cheese. It's a cute little place. Our server is absolutely new and seems a little all over the place but she is a nice girl. I will definitely come back.

Environment- was a little chilly inside. Sports bar environment which was enjoyable. The area was clean, just was a little outdated for seating. The music was my style (80s hair bands). The waitress didn't reach out but once to fill up our drinks however, and didn't help with information (it was our first time). Drinks- water was smooth and not limey. Arnold Palmer was lacking in the lemonade, tasted mainly of watered down tea. Husband was upset the didn't serve sweet tea. Appetizers- clams were a little too garlicky for my husbands taste, but I enjoyed them, however ever steamed clam plate NEEDS crusty bread and this didn't come with unfortunately. The cheese curds were on the smaller side comparing portion to price. The Thai chili sauce was great addition to the curds but you could tell that it was store bought sadly. Main courses - came here because was told the mac and cheese is the claim to fame. The noodle choice for both dishes was the perfect compliment to sauce and chicken. The noodles and chicken were cooked to the right doneness. The Alfredo "mac and cheese" I wouldn't claim as Mac n cheese. But the flavor is some of the best Alfredo I've had . The sauce to noodle ratio was what it should be. The sauce stayed in the noodle which was superb. The chicken on top was favorable and cooked great and held moisture. Issue was they put a blanket on cheese on top of the chicken and not under it so the cheese clumped the chicken from the noodles. The portion was decent size as well. The Buffalo mac was extremely greasy, there was orange all over the bottom of the dish and unfortunately caused the sauce to not stay on the noodle. But the sauce flavor was the best mac Buffalo flavor we've had ! The chicken was moist! Also it said blue cheese or ranch flavored cheese sauce - I didn't detect any flavor of those besides cheese and buffalo. If the sauce was thicker and not as greasy so it didn't fall off the noodles this would be unbeatable.

    BBQ Mac and cheese bake

Stopped in for lunch. Very quiet in the dining room. After reading reviews I ordered the Mac and cheese topped with Pork BBQ. OMG! It was hot and fresh. No gloppy Mac and cheese. The BBQ was sweet the way I like it, and cheddar cheese was melted over the top. It was sinfully good! It was a large portion, so yay, I have leftovers for later! Highly recommend this place!!!

This was a fantastic local place with some great food. Our table started out with two orders of the cheese curds, one with the sweet thai chili sauce and the other was a blueberry sauce (I'm like 75% certain but I could be wrong on exactly what it was my memory isn't working today). The cheese curds themselves had a nice light batter and were delicious on their own. I'm pretty sure the thai chili sauce is just from a bottle, Thai kitchen brand. Even with that said the sauce is good and works well with the cheese curds. The blueberry sauce is very sweet but still really good. My husband ordered the sandwich that had both a piece of fried chicken and a burger on one bun. The actual name is escaping me (that memory issue again) at the moment but I do remember it was delicious and if you're debating if you want a burger or chicken sandwich, go with this and have both. It is a very good sandwich. Now the mac and cheese oh soooo good! I had the philly cheese stake mac and cheese. There was so much mac and cheese for about $8. This turned into about 3 meals for me. The noodles were cooked great, an awesome amount of wonderful cheese and a generous amount of philly steak, peppers and onions. It seems like you cannot go wrong here. Great food, generous portions at amazing prices. I'm 100% a fan of the Cottage Inn!

The food is great -- fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. It's the kind of place you want to like. That said, for the price, the portions feel underwhelming. The smashburger, while tasty, is about the size of a standard McDonald's cheeseburger, and a handful of fries just doesn't cut it at this price point. A bit more generosity on the plate would go a long way in matching the quality of the experience with the value. Still worth a visit -- just don't come too hungry.

I only recall trying poutine when I was younger so I figured I'd give it another try. They have Poutine as a whole order, but I was glad to see that they have it as a side option. The food entries comes with a side of your choice (fries, house salad, sweet potato fries (+$2.99) , caesar salad (+$3.50), or poutine (+$3.50)). The portions of the food were huge, so you definitely get your bang for your buck here. Each dish was neatly placed and was so good! The bread from the club was crunchy yet soft and the chicken was moist. The ingredient felt very fresh! The poutine was a tad salty, but I think that is how poutine is? Since it's gravy and cheese (two salty ingredients). It was just the perfect amount to share with the family since we all just wanted a little bit to refresh our taste buds. My family also ordered the Chipotle Chicken Caesar Wrap with the house salad ($19.99); Fish and Chips ($19.99), and Grilled Chicken Club with the house salad ($19.99). The chipotle chicken caesar wrap was HUGE. My mom said it was very good and that it wasn't too overpowered with all the flavors and sauces. I was able to try a bite of her house salad and was also impressed by the fresh ingredients of the salad. You can tell it is a good salad when the salt actually crunches and does not just wilt there. The Fish and Chips were pretty good according to my brother in law. Crispy, not totally too greasy and a large piece on top. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal here in this small town. It had a cosy interior with very nice staff. FYI, the menu is located solely online! Reception could be a little spotty, so they have wifi for you in case you need it! A LOT OF UNTAPPED POTENTIAL ===========================…read more My husband and I stopped in on Monday, November 18th around 2:00 p.m.. There was hardly anyone inside, yet I had to wait ten minutes to get a table. It went downhill from there. One server for the whole restaurant is a problem. I just ordered a beer and fries. It was cold so my husband just wanted tea. The first cup tasted like coffee that he doesn't like. The second cup was cold. He gave up at that point. I will say I was slightly disappointed with our curds. They were small and most were just empty pieces of batter. The people beside us got a beautifully breaded batch and much more. They tasted good, but still disappointed in the lack of curds (the empty ones). The fish was nice and light and not fishy at all. I really enjoyed the coleslaw and my husband likes the fries. It was just the right amount of crisp without being too much and the perfectly flaky fish. The price wasn't terrible and the lake view is very nice and relaxing.

The bar is average, serving many of the popular cocktails and local beers. It has a chill atmosphere inside. There's pool tables and a jukebox so the crowd controls the jams! The bartender was super friendly and talked to everyone without being rude, considering most of my friends and I that went were already on a good level! Side note: don't let your friend order you a trash can when you've already had a few shots and beer, mixing always gets crazy! #Cheers #Yolo #ItsLit It gets really cold here, around -20 degrees Fahrenheit when I was there from February to April. That's where bars come in handy, alcohol always warms up ya system and people start dancing in there, you kinda forget you're in New York! We asked, and they've only been open two weeks! It's a lovely English style pub with tin-looking walls and dark furniture - everything is new and tidy. There are booths to sit at, a long bar, and high tables near the window, so there are some nice seating options. We tried the cream of carrot and ginger (soup of the day) and it was outstanding. I tried the sandwich of the day, a roast chicken with caramelized onions on 'mediterranean' bread, which was a simple white bread with some bits of kalamata olives in it, I think. I had an option of fries, salad, or potato salad, and went for the salad, which was a pile of lovely fresh greens with a creamy balsamic on top. Another of us had the chicken leek casserole which was huge and tasty. With some tricky to find imports on tap like Newcastle brown and Old Speckled Hen, we really felt like we'd stumbled into a nice example of a UK pub in Brockville. They have a bunch of premium and imported options for beer on tap plus a reasonable wine list. Worth a stop!
