Walked in to find the best open floor restaurant. My party of 4 was sat in a booth in the far wall. Our waitress was so friendly and when we asked what was good here. Choose to eat in the more traditional setting or out at the bar which with rolled up doors bridges into a nice outside dining area. Even in the middle of the week this place seems busy all the time. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tonight we felt like burgers and their cowboy burger hit the spot. About an hour north of the city is a restaurant called SpookHill Bar and Grill in Adams Center. I know it's not in the immediate Syracuse area. But I do know that a lot of people take their four wheelers and snowmobiles to the Tug Hill, where this establishment is located. If you don't have an interest in this information , just scroll on bye. I eat breakfast here about once a month. I have yet to encounter a bad one. Today I was lucky enough to catch Rays Burnt Ends special. Burnt ends mixed with home fries, topped with fried onions. Two over easy eggs and rye toast as well. A tasty treat indeed. Notice the "short stack" (3) order of pancakes. Wow! A regular stack is 5 pancakes. Omelets and waffles hit the spot. You definitely get your monies worth here. Our waitress was friendly and attentive for our party of 8. So if you're heading up to do some 4 wheeling or sledding, this is a great place for breakfast. On Oct 29th 2025 for lunch I got the Pot Roast Melt which tasted very good but was mostly carrots, maybe 3 tiny pieces of meat. Walked in on a Wednesday night with a party of 12 and baby (extended family.) I'm in the industry so I was already on edge as I know how much of a pain it is when large groups walk in with no reservation. I was so pleasantly surprised with not only how efficient they were in taking care of us, but especially how nice they were during the service. This is the first time we have come to Spookhill for their brunch/breakfast and it was really good! I had the pork burnt ends brunch special and it was super tasty! It had all the things and was massive! I'm excited to have some more of it for lunch and for breakfast tomorrow. The hubs had the smothered breakfast and he loved it. They said it was one of their best-sellers and you can see why. We also decided to try their cinnamon roll pancake and a pumpkin pancake and they were both delicious! I was in this area for work and wanted to sit for lunch. This place had some solid ratings which were accurate. I started with a cup of French onion soup. It was solid. I was feeling fat so I ordered a side salad instead of fries. It was the smart decision but I regret it. The salad was fine but I saw the fries at the next table and they looked good. I finished with a steak wrap. This was very good. They actually used cut up pieces of steaks grilled how you want it. They don't use the cheap steak um type meat you get places. The wrap had roasted red peppers and grilled onions. I was very pleased. The waitress was excellent. She was friendly and fast. It was very clean inside so no worries there either. Then the fried haddock was burnt to a crisp! We were looking for lunch not too far from Sackets harbor and could not have picked a better spot to eat. The waitstaff was prompt and friendly. We started with the pretzels as an appetizer. They were hot and soft, and the beer cheese was good (could be a tad more tangy, but that's just me). Had such a lovely meal here on Saturday evening. The fried haddock was some of the best I have ever enjoyed. Not a beer batter, not simply fried but unique and delicious. The sirloin was cooked to perfection. My mashed potato lover even asked for extra gravy and potatoes to take home. The spicy spook hill margarita was delicious and large. Turtle cheesecake made the meal complete. Four of us dined and drank for a very reasonable amount. The waitresses were both kind and attentive. Hailey was our waitress and she was wonderful. Looking forward to supporting this locally owned business for a long time! My boys really enjoyed the third bathroom choice. Stopped for lunch ordered a well done burger when it was served I could see the blood leaking on the bottom bun. I returned it to the server to have it cooked some more. When she returned with it I tried to pick it up and found it served on the same blood soaked bun. Nothing but a soft wet goo. When I dug into the burger with my fork I found it dry with all the juice pressed out. A burger should be the second thing a cook should learn how to cook toast being the first. In all fairness I've been there 2 other times and had excellent lunches. And yes I'll go back and give them another shot. read more

We had heard about the Spook Hill B & G on 106.7 - the Border. So we took Rte. 11 north from Adams, and just past the South Jefferson school, we found SH. (Our last trip there, was a Halloween visit to the Spook Hill pumpkin farm, several years ago.) We were impressed by the beautiful repurposed bar materials, metal roofing facing, and a old heavy "barn beam" for a footrest. Clever and functional, if not indestructible! Melissa didn't steer us wrong with her suggestion: Leinenkugel Summer Shandy "tall" was a $2.50 special treat, in a very chilled glass on a warm afternoon. Did I mention they had the garage doors up for an open, comfortable feeing. "Caesar with Chicken" was on target, and my "Beef on Weck" was superb, and the Horseradish was fine, I chose a Pasta salad as side! If you're coming North, take a short detour from I-81 over to Rt. 11, well worth you extra effort. We'll go back. read more

I don't know why it took me so long to try Spookhill Bar & Grill, but I finally made it there in January '19. A great new experience to kick off the New Year. We stopped in for an early dinner. I was glad that the dining room was separate from the bar area. The room was bright, clean and pleasantly decorated. Our waitress (I think her name was Amber) was very accommodating. Service was a very reasonable wait time. Salads were fresh. I ordered the broiled haddock with mashed potatoes and veg. My friend ordered chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. Both portions were very generous (see photos). He said the chicken was very good, as was my fish. My mashed potatoes were obviously homemade and very creamy. My only complaint is that while the menu described the haddock as being baked in a lemon butter sauce, everything on my plate was drowning in butter... it drenched most of the potatoes, and even the green beans were dripping with it. Breakfast this morning was fabulous! Butterfinger French toast was decadent and delicious. Home fries were real potatoes instead of those perfectly square frozen ones which is a dealbreaker for me.
