My daughter ordered it but when she opened the wrapper she found that there was no lettuce or tomatoes or fresh onions inside. She was not even asked about options, just got this burger with meat & cheese & condiments only. It is $10. It was a whole different experience from mine, as I was asked for my preferred fresh veggie toppings and condiments extensively. I do not know why it happened, but I felt very sorry for my daughter's experience. It was a huge let down.

There is a story behind it lol I promise I'll tell it quick! SO way back when I used to work in office we had food truck Tuesday's during the summers and that's where I first discovered their super delicious grilled cheese sandos and mac and cheese. Because I worked in Oakville/Burlington area though I thought I'd never really see them again after covid but then lo and behold I saw their name as one of the vendors and I legit cried! I literally ran over to the truck to get my favourite menu item called "two little piggies" which is the bacon and jalapeño grilled cheese sandwich with a side of the bacon and jalapeño mac and cheese One bite and I knew I was in my happy place lolol but to use more descriptive words I would say this sando is PACKED with flavour, you would think not because it's essentially just grilled cheese but these guys really took the concept of grilled cheese and levelled it UP! Even though it has jalapeños I feel like it's not too spicy because the creamy cheese, crunchy, salty bacon and toasted bread definitely balances it out! The mac and cheese has the exact same flavour with perfectly done macaroni and everything ties in together just perfect *chef's kiss* Thank you to the kind woman working at the truck who bought me a drink because she could see the love I had in my eyes for their food lolol sorry I don't remember her name now but it just made my day and she deserves a shoutout! Hoping they can come back to Mississauga soon, you can find their truck all over the GTA and hire them for special events. Trust me they are highly recommended, check them out y'all!

They also had fish taco, fish and chips. I found the fish and chips to be a bit overpriced (they weren't raising the price due to our fundraising), but, I guess it's still something good to try. Their house sauce added just a touch of spiciness, which helped round out the flavours. The only disappointment for me were the waffles. I was expecting freshly made (or, at the very least, made from scratch) waffles, but instead the sandwich came with two things that were very much reminiscent of Eggo waffles in both appearance and taste. Service was friendly and quick. Overall, this could have been a 4 star review, but I had to downgrade it to 3 stars because of the waffle-disappointment.

They listened to classical music while the fryers were going, which was unexpected and quite nice. :) First, the burger. Don't order one. It's wretched. Nasty mass-produced patty, Costco-quality bun, anemic slice of tomato, sad little lettuce leaf. I took one bite and tossed it. On the other hand, the fries were the best I've ever had. I'm not kidding, they're absolutely delicious. They're chunky cut, skin on, and fried a crispy, beautiful brown. I don't care that the generous portion of fries probably equalled twice my daily calorie allotment. I ate every single one. From the other people crowded around the truck, I learned that I should have had the poutine -- it's supposed to be fabulous. They also have hot dogs and sausages, which I hope taste better than their burger. That said, I'm actually looking forward to being on campus again on Monday just so I can eat more of their delicious frites. Yes, I'm crazy. Crazy about the Blue Chip Truck! Since service isn't always a huge thing when it comes to food trucks (basic service for a busy truck, can't really expect much during such a busy time) I figured I would get straight to the food (the part I actually care about). I ended up ordering the spicy chicken sandwich and it just didn't do what I was hoping it would do. The sandwich came out in about 5 minutes and looked delicious. The problem is that when you have to chew chicken like it's some kind of rubber, well, it's just not a good experience. The sandwich did not hit the spot and between the sandwich and the $4 ginger ale I was left wishing I ordered something from another truck.

Well there is a new kid on the block and he goes by the name of Fidel Gastro and his tagline is "Rebel Without A Kitchen" and in his world it is all about slamming sammies! In real time his name is Matt Basile who was a former ad man who just couldn't stand life in a cubicle anymore and has been honing his food skills under some fairly prominent city chefs. He was part of his own first pop up event last Thursday night down at The Bunky (135 Tecumseth Street) from 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. at pop up called "Opposites Attract". FG's was featuring four signature sammies and The Feel Good Guru was offering up vegan eats. So I figured now was as good a time as any to check him out. By 7:30 p.m. The Bunky was hopping. Who ever lined up the tunes had the place rocking and you got a complimentary glass of wine upon entry, which eased the wait of the lineups. FG's four signature sammies included The Havana Club: Steam Whistle pulled pork, havarti cheese and a douse of something with some kind of attitude; The Virginia Ham, onions and chili aioli; The El Paisano, egg fried spaghetti with Wagyu beef and veal meatballs; The Cuban Mac with Chorizo sausage, 3 cheese baked macaroni (yes, you read that right, a mac & cheese sammie!) and finally The Toronto Cheese Steak featuring sliced rib eye, Havarti cheese, hash browns, onions, Dijon aioli and a fried egg. All the sammies are served on a custom made bun (by Cobb's Bakery) and are in my opinion, just the perfect size. All sammies were priced at a decent five bucks. Being with friends we just bought up a batch of the sammies and passed them around. Surprisingly for me, my personal fave, was the Cuban Mac & Cheese. At first I thought, mac & cheese on a bun? No way, this is a gonna be a carbo blow out. Two bites into this Mac & Cheese bliss and I was a convert. The chorizo really tempers out the cheese and the pasta was cooked perfectly to be used in this way. If you are on Twitter at all you can follow this up and coming street food maverick at @fidelgastros Matt is definitely a guy to keep your eye on for some really fun street eats and as he would yell out after selling each sammie.....Ole! Funnily enough FG's table is anchored by a really funny, over the top cheap bust of Elvis Presley. On my way out the door that evening I tweeted...."Elvis has left the building with a Mac & Cheese sammie!". I'm quite certain had Elvis still been alive this particular sammie would have been a staple in his diet. I await the next Fidel Gastro's pop up. These are definitely slamming sammies.

Brisket poutine - The (undrenched) fries were crunchy and well seasoned. Wished we ordered regular fries instead - The beef gravy was runny and flavorless. All it did was sogged up the best part. They were also pretty stingy in portioning the brisket and cheese curds. Brisket I understand but cheese curds too? In addition, the brisket reminded me more of beef jerky - chewy and dry. Pulled pork classic - $2 dollar more than competing trucks but was served with fries. The sandwich was underdressed. The pulled pork was overcooked and tough. The bun was not toasted. Not the worst sandwich but there are just so many better options around! Overall - Urban BBQ is the prime example why I usually frown upon getting foods from food trucks - Overpriced, small portion, mediocre foods.

Some restaurants in TO don't know how to cook fresh cut fries and sometimes they are mealy inside or downright hard (undercooked) but this fry truck is the answer when you have a craving for delicious hot fresh tasty fries. I will be back soon and bring my son, who also loves a good fry. They have so many condiments for you to put in top too! The lady that served me was so sweet and kind. This is bonus in this big city.
