MY FAVORITE BREAKFAST IN PITTSBURGH/THE STATE/AND 2ND OF ALL TIME Everything here was fucking perfect and it was just all staple diner food in the best version possible. Absolutely nothing crazy (minus the French toast) that is just NAILED. And THE PRICES are so awesome The Hot Mess. Massive, loaded and delicious. That's not an omelette either.. that's their scrambled eggs loaded with potatoes and smothered it their insane sausage gravy. The biscuits with it. Right out the oven fresh, so soft, not dry in the slightest and honestly didn't even need anything on it. The corned beef hash was probably the best I've had. I never had it was such a great crisp/crunch to it. That is my new standard for corned beef hash The pancakes. The best in Pittsburgh and my top 3-5 of all time. I hate the hotcake style which you see in Pittsburgh MINUS the crisp with it. But I don't want that throughout the entire thing, I still want my fluff. This delivered that PERFECTLY. Great crisp on just the edges and the fluff in the middle. Absolutely perfect THE BOSTON CREME FRENCH TOAST. My second favorite breakfast item I've gotten in Pittsburgh. You will rarely see me get French Toast unless it's recommended a decent bit or just looks nuts. THIS is my favorite French toast I've had and I hate Boston Creme 90% of the time. It always gets too overfilled, and too sweet of a custard. NOT HERE. The chocolate topping was perfect, not just a basic syrup people buy at the store that is so overpowering. Can 1000% tell homemade. The custard had the perfect amount of sweet ratio for amount they give Warning it's small inside with minimal seating and you will have to wait. Great little place. Stopped in with a friend who lies nearby and recommended. All the tables were in use but a couple opened up as we entered. Our waitress was so nice. Someone else stopped by during our meal to make sure everyone was enjoying our breakfast. Visited this diner for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I pulled into the parking lot around 945am and every single spot both in the front and out back were taken, with people opting to park along the edges of the parking lots too. I had to wait off to the side of the road for about 10 mins for a spot to open up for me. When we went in at 10:05, they quoted us a 30-min wait for a party of 2. We browsed around the country store side of the building and were tempted by many of the baked goods and ready to eat foods from behind the deli counter. When we were eventually seated, over waitress provided 10/10 service. She was friendly, energetic, constantly checking our coffee levels and topping us off when we looked midway empty. I ordered a 2 egg omelette with american cheese and hot sausage. The omelette was huge and about 65% sausage to 35% egg. It was stuffed and delicious. The rye toast looked promising, but unfortunately was a little too toasted. The edges were rock hard and inedible. My friend said the hashbrowns weren't great either, with inconsistent seasoning and not crispy enough. The crepe was certainly the star of the show. It was cooked perfectly, had crispy edges, and a good amount of fillings and whipped cream on top. We both agreed that we would definitely get a crepe and/or omelette if we returned. Food is great-never had a complaint about their food/recipes! Their coffee though, is less desirable! The hot coffee taste almost like water and at times taste burnt! And, they don't make fresh brewed ice tea, they give you a bottle of Pure Leaf tea, lol! Found this on yelp searching for breakfast. What a find. It's literally a little country style convenience store with about half the place set up as a restaurant. They also have a deli and make sandwiches (which, sadly we didn't try). The restaurant has a simple but solid menu. Service was awesome and fast. Very efficient. The food was top notch. On par with any fine breakfast restaurant we've ever been to. French toast. Perfectly made and served with (gasp) real maple syrup. Omelet was perfectly made and filled with good fillings. Local sausage used - awesome. Go with the spicy. Potatoes were the only (somewhat) letdown. I say letdown as in 'on par with any other place'. They were nicely sliced but a bit greasy and a bit too heavy on black pepper. But, did not detract from the great meal and great time we had. Oh. Coffee = good Highly recommended. read more

We had a wonderful breakfast this morning at The Country Store! I ordered the biscuits and gravy with hash browns and bacon. My boyfriend ordered the 3 egg 3 meat omelette with hash browns and French toast. We were both amazed at how good everything was and their portions were HUGE! They also have a cool little store and deli area that we checked out. They have a little bit of everything there and most of it comes from local farms and such. I visited The Country Store for the first time recently. I was impressed with the friendliness of the employees and the quality of the freshly made to order Italian Hoagie that I ordered for lunch. The dining area was very clean, comfortable and the decor was very cute. The prices were competitive. We had a little trouble parking. Apparently, this business is very popular, because the main parking area was filled. We had to drive around and finally found a place to park around back. It would have helped us if there had been a sign to indicate the additional parking area. Overall, I liked this place a lot and will plan to go back soon. read more

We ordered, everything is alacarte and can add up quickly. for 2 people who ordered eggs, split pancakes, split potatoes and each had bacon. our bill was $30. also, the waitress served another table a plate that they returned and she put it under hot plate then brought to my table.
