Being from Maryland but living fl for 23 years, i crave steamed blue crabs with old bay. We read about this place and said let's try it. We were seated and given complimentary fritters. Omg i could have filled up on just them. We ordered a dozen crabs and apparently they don't get a lot of Marylanders there and the chef came out to ask if we were sure we wanted the shell on. Then after speaking with us he hooked us up! The crabs were a mix of female and male (in md we mostly eat males and use the females for soup). The seasoning was perfect. After a long, hot day at Daytona International Speedway, it was a delight to find this locally owned establishment. It looks like an old IHOP building that's been converted. Parking was super easy as they have a dedicated parking lot. As soon as we walked in and were greeted, the first question was dine-in or carryout? We chose dine in and were pleased with the cool air conditioning. The dining room was a mix of tables and booths. It looks like it was a very busy summer for business as you could see a good amount of wear on the vinyl of the booths. Don't let that discourage you because the food it worth it. Lots of options to choose from. We went with a meal that has snow crab legs, shrimp, potatoes and corn in a garlic butter. The seasoning on the corn and potatoes was just right (not too hot or too spicy.) The waitress brought us a crab cracker and bibs. We didn't use the bibs but definitely needed the cracker for the crab legs. It would have been awesome to have a pic. I guess we should have asked. Overall the food was delicious. The garlic butter was a great addition. We will definitely be back next time we are in town. Definitely plan your visit. You will most likely need to shower afterwards. The crab and corn were so juicy. When we were leaving we had the opportunity to speak with the owners. There used to be a Crab Stop 1 but it was only take out. When Crab Stop 2 opened, it was competing for business so they closed 1 and added dine in and carryout at 2. They've now been in business for 16 years. read more

Wow I like Maryland Crab Boil! The garlic butter sauce is SO juicy! The crab meat is soft and juicy! Snow Crab Legs and small Blue Crabs were very sweet. The shrimps were fresh too. I was driving home from Jacksonville to Orlando and had to stop for food. I knew exactly where to go. I did a take out order. I ordered my favorite wings! 10 piece Hot Buffalo with Fries. We did have a few claws that were bad but we also had some extra claws so it wasn't too big deal although I still don't enjoy wasting my time cracking bad claws. I ordered the seafood rice and the kid's 2 piece fish (whiting) with boiled garlic red potatoes. The seafood rice barely had any seafood in it. It was a lot of rice!! The fish was horrible, bland and rubbery. The potatoes were good. The cashier was polite, although, she was busy working the dining room and front counter, she took my order quickly and apologized for the wait. After about 15 minutes my order was ready. When I got back to work, I looked at my receipt and realized the prices I was charged was different from the ones on the menu. Crab Stop II is located in an old IHOP in Daytona. Not much to look at on the outside, or the inside for that matter. Still though, there are good things going on in the kitchen. The portions here are decent for the prices and the seafood is fresh. We had a blue crab boil on this visit. About 16 blue crabs, corn and potatoes in a garlic sauce for about $50. We also had a fried catfish sandwich which was impeccable. The food was awesome. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the service was average and the venue itself was a little run down. The dinner here was excellent. The corn fritters are awesome (hot and delicious). The shrimp bowl (we had 3 of them) were also delicious (shrimp, andouille sausage, corn cob, butter, potatoes and bay seasoning). The best in Daytona Beach. I have been going to this place since the MLK spot I personally miss that one the most however this one is just as great. Cute family oriented place to take the family or for date nights, love the seafood vibe it has going. The food is amazing my all time favorite is the seafood rice. This may be a little harsh, to give them three stars instead of four, because the food was basically fine. I think we might not have ordered their best dishes and it was a little late on a Saturday evening, so maybe they were out of some items and just hoping to close. I normally don't drink wine, but I had a desire for some there. They had several on the menu, but the waitress thought they were out of most of them. She didn't really know what they had, she didn't mention that she might go check what they have, But I didn't really care so I just said bring whatever you have. They were also out of some of the crab styles, which is pretty drastic for a place with crab in the name I ended up getting a couple of blue crabs and they were indeed tasty although anybody knows they are hard to get the meat out of. Can't complain about that dish, however. My wife got the crabcakes, and we figured for the low price that they couldn't be that full of actual crab meat, and we were correct. It was largely filler and she said even that taste wasn't so great. Service was rather slow through throughout the evening. Friendly, but just slow and didn't check back very often. At first, they delivered the wrong items, and even though we corrected them immediately and they got things correct, when the bill came, it had the incorrect items still listed. If I went back there, I would stick to the fried dishes and I think I would be much happier. read more

Unfortunately, as soon as we walked in, we couldn't help but think that the restaurant could use some major sprucing up. Our server was very nice and the menu was great with lots of choices, but the food was just average. The crab cakes were the thinnest we ever had. It's possible that had we ordered other crab dishes we would have been more pleased. With so many seafood restaurants in the area, I'm not sure if we'll be back to this one.
