I really wanted to love this place. It is in a very cute location and the employees were sweet, but as a local ER nurse I have seen the devastation COVID has brought upon the community. I wanted to support a small local store and upon entry NO ONE had mask, not even the workers. I am vaccination and not worried about myself. I believe everyone has a right to make their own choice, but we are still in the depths of a public health crisis. The workers should at least attempted to slow the spread. Heard about this place and have been super excited to visit and try the keto scones. Walked in today and walked right back out. The place was packed with customers and none of the employees were wearing a mask, no gloves, saw no safety precautions whatsoever. After reading the owners replies on here, seems she has adopted the ole' "what about Walmart and target??" defense. Walmart and target are not eateries, with food sitting openly on a counter. Scones are great but customer service is awful. Girls were talking while I was waiting to order , didn't even acknowledge me. One cashier , didn't get her name but she had two pig tail like braids always had a bad attitude every time I come in. My mom was being nice and asking how her day was going and she just gave her a snarky remark. I usually visit the Press across the street and have been looking to support other local businesses. When I walked into this establishment, I almost immediately walked right out. There were no precautions taken whatsoever. The employees were on their phones behind the counter, no mask, and I did not see them wash their hands in between helping the person in front of me and handling their dirty phones. The no masks were enough, but when I saw the employees not wash their hands in between handling their self phones I walked out. Even if we were not in a pandemic, hand washing is required in a food service industry. read more

The scones are amazing! I have never tried one that wasn't good! Even when the lines are long the service is fast and friendly! The selection of flavor is vast and the seasonal ones are always yummy! Plus they have gluten free scones that are so good! They don't even taste any different than the traditional ones. They also offer a large variety of other options like vegan, keto, etc. They also have brownies and lemon bars that are delicious if you don't feel like scones. Scones are just okay. And every time I've gone, the customer service is lacking. Not sure if they are tired or just don't want to be there, but it has happened on more than one occasion. They also aren't wearing masks or any gloves. Okay I get the mask debate but gloves should be worn with or without a pandemic. They obviously haven't had anyone pass from the virus or become ill and care more about customer comfort, as I've read. As a front line worker, I've seen it up close and wouldn't want my customers to get it and would take precautions by wearing a mask if I agreed or not. Wanted to love this place, but also had a "3 strikes" experience. First was like many others mentioned, no masks/gloves/anything. No, I'm not a "fear mongering" person, but during times like this, they might want to rethink things, especially for customers who are elderly (like my dad who is 87), those who have illnesses, etc. Even if they don't go in, if someone brings something to one of them, it may not be safe. Anyway, besides that, the main thing that bothered me were the FLIES landing all over the scones (gross!). The case is not enclosed at all in the back (another reason you may want to use masks?), so flies were literally landing all over the scones. I saw one land on ALL 5 of the bacon/chive/egg scones that were in the case, as well as numerous other flavors just when I was in there near the case. The employee saw and tried to act as if she didn't see (but I could see the "oh f*ck" look on her face). You may want to add a sliding glass door or netting of some sort on the back of the case. It's pretty gross to see flies landing all over the scones. 3rd strike was that my coffee that I ordered was accidentally given to someone else. Normally not a big deal (accidents happen), but even after the employee realized she just gave away someone else's (mine) coffee, she just went back to doing other stuff and talking with a co-worker (even though I had been standing there waiting). It wasn't until I looked at her like "umm hello?" did she ask if I was waiting for something... and I had to let her know that she gave away my drink (and re-tell my order and wait for it. By then, the people I was with were pretty much done eating/drinking because it took so long). As far as taste, my coffee was good, scones were pretty good (not gonna lie though, the Cost Plus World Market bagged mix is comparable besides the more unique flavors). read more

I really wanted to avoid writing this review... but my recent experiences have brought me back to Yelp and to secondly, write this review. I visited this store not too long ago to find that thru this pandemic, this business has decided to re-open without following any of the reopening guidelines: social distanced tables or waiting areas; no signage; nor do they care enough about public health to require their employees to wear PPE. Was their food good? Yes. Will I risk my health or should others risk their health to get it? NOPE. I know some people see wearing masks as some type of political thing or an attack on freedom, it's not! It's a simple gesture to say "hey, I care about my neighbor." Hopefully, they don't have to wait till an outbreak happens at their store to realize the measures they should have prioritized from the start. There's a reason why the major stores like Costco and Target are still wearing masks or practicing social distancing. All I ask is that this business prioritize the health of all customers and not their inconvenience. For additional context, I initially and politely sent a message to this business on FB/Instagram and they 1) did not address or acknowledge my concern, 2) deleted my message and 3) blocked me from following their social page! That is immature and unprofessional. While I was hoping to see improvements at this store so I could eventually go back, looks like I won't be getting to see any at all. So in that case, you can say goodbye to my business and to those of my network completely. I'll be informing all friends and family. We will definitely not be coming to or recommending your business, anymore. Here is a recent pic of the store with no social distanced tables. Lastly, if you're in agreement with the public health issue I'm posting here, I encourage you all to submit a complaint to Riverside County. Let me first say that I love their scones. I was sad when I visited on 6/24 and saw the employees were not wearing face masks. Also their tables are not spaced apart for social distancing. They are not taking the precautions that make me feel comfortable to eat their delicious scones. I worry that the staff behind the counter and in the kitchen are spreading their droplets on the scones when they talk and breathe. I wish they cared more for their customers and would take the prescribed precautions. Until then, I will find other safe alternatives. read more
