Beautiful sunset over The Creek Haus
    Michaela S.

Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with my review because our wedding left us completely speechless. We had our wedding at The Creek Haus on June 4, 2016. Our wedding weekend was picture perfect; everything we dreamed about and more. Joe, Stacey and the whole team were fabulous to work with. Whenever we had questions, they were easily accessible and provided quick responses. They checked on us throughout the weekend and ensured everything was going smoothly. They provided above and beyond, more than excellent, customer service. They are flexible, eager to please, passionate, fun and caring people who truly want your big day to be as special as possible. There are no words that can perfectly describe them and express our appreciation for the amount of kindness and care they showed us. Additionally, what I think is so truly special about them, is how they made us feel. They made us feel like we were the only ones they were helping to plan a wedding despite them having two or three weddings each weekend! That is a rarity and truly reflects the kind of people they are and how passionate they are about the work they do. I also want to highlight the amazing work of Jaime Dydalewicz. She was our wedding coordinator and she did a phenomenal job of bringing everything together and keeping it all seamless. Outside of the amazing customer service, let me talk about the perfection that is The Creek Haus. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, but it is extremely convenient. I've been in several weddings where the wedding parties are traveling from place to place to get ready for the ceremony and reception. Here, at The Creek Haus, there is no travel; all the vendors come to you. I cannot emphasize how easy and smooth the day of the wedding was. I felt relaxed and stress-free the entire day! Also, something that is wonderfully unique about The Creek Haus is the amount of contingency plans for bad weather. Texas is known for being extremely unpredictable when it comes to weather. Sure enough, it upheld its reputation and provided us with a brief downpour two hours before our ceremony. However, I was not concerned at all because we had a plan A, B and C! When planning a Texas wedding, the biggest piece of advise I received was that I needed to love the venue's contingency plans. The Creek Haus has great backup plans. There really is not a bad view on site - even if you were to end up inside. I truly want to thank The Creek Haus team for making our wedding perfect and unforgettable. It's taken me some time to write this review and find the right words to paint the perfect picture. But what's best about writing this review later is that I can honestly share that our friends and family are still raving about our wedding. They continue to tell us that our wedding was the absolute best wedding they have ever attended and the location was out of this world beautiful. It's obvious that my husband and I will never forget this weekend and it makes things that much sweeter when our friends and family tell us that they too will never forget our magical wedding weekend at The Creek Haus.

Hill Country Casitas - Casita #1, The Pauline

    Hill Country Casitas

We have been visiting the Hill Country Casitas for several years as a regular getaway place just 45…read moreminutes outside of Austin. Featuring beautiful views of the hills, each of the Casitas have their own personality. Sized for different needs, each Casita is well designed for comfort with well selected furnishings and finishes. Most have outdoor fireplaces, which are wonderful for gathering around on a chilly evening. All of the Casitas are very comfortable. However, for couples, I would highly recommend springing extra for the very private "Pauline" Casita. Located at the top of the hilltop, the Pauline features a large soaking tub and double shower. The views are spectacular! If the Pauline is booked up, there are others that are comparable. Recently, Hill Country Casitas added a large pool and spa, which are great for warm months. Other amenities include a large outdoor pavilion, a retreat center, firepit, and outdoor game area. Hill Country Casitas is also adjacent to the wonderful Hawk Shadow winery which we recommend for the tastings which are held on an outdoor terrace overlooking the canyon. If you are a "dog person", Hill Country Casitas also is very "dog friendly". I can't recommend it more highly for couples, family get togethers, wedding celebrations, or corporate retreats. Five Stars! Check it out!

Wow. Was I ever surprised as we drove down a gravel road in the middle of nowhere to the 'cabin' we…read morehad booked for the weekend near Dripping Springs. First of all, the 'cabin' was a stone house that was as cute as it could be. The owners must either have a really good sense of style or they used a professional decorator. The appointments and style in the cabin were first very attractive. This place not only had all the amenities a first class hotel would have, it had some very, very nice touches added, such as rockers on the porch draped with Mexican blankets in front of the outdoor fireplace, with a stack of wood ready to burn. The tiled shower had a shower head on each side wall, so two people could easily shower together and have plenty of room. The bathroom was equipped with lots of plush towels, plush rugs, a hair dryer, all the soaps and lotions, and a black washcloth for makeup removal. The kitchen was fully equipped, including ground coffee in the canister ready for the coffee pot. The cabin was immaculate too. Our location was quiet and restful, yet 20 minutes from two cute towns. I was pleased and impressed, and would highly recommend this retreat.

TW: HIDDEN CAMERA!…read more My sister was married here a few years back. The wedding was beautiful and reception space lovely.... So why the low rating? THEY HAD A HIDDEN CAMERA IN THE BRIDAL SUITE! We found the small, cube-shaped camera after the wedding had started... so after we had been using the space for the entire day to dress. The camera's light was on, which indicated it was live recording. When confronted, the staff member on site (possibly the owner?) stated that the area in question was "not expected to be used for changing", and therefore they were "allowed" to have a camera. Imagine that... a bridal suite, (behind locked doors no less), that is not for changing?? Complete & utter BS. And what's worse is that the woman (I think her name was Karen?) was completely dismissive of our concerns, & didn't even BLINK when we asked her about it! Like it was common practice that she and the staff spied on every female wedding party! Meanwhile, there was ZERO signage to indicate there was a camera in that room or that we were being recorded. Plus, the camera was not in plain view... it was discretely placed under a table close to the floor, quite obviously an attempt to conceal its presence. We were all furious considering the violation, as we had OF COURSE been using that space to get dressed! "But don't worry", she said, "I'm the only one who sees it." Literally the opposite of reassuring. I suspect the owner may have placed the camera there to make sure unruly bridesmaids did not cause any property damage, but I strongly believe her actions were highly unethical if not 100% illegal. The only reason we didn't call the police or attempt to press charges was because we didn't want to ruin my sister's day or cause a scene that would overshadow her good memories. So if you choose this venue, I highly recommend you take a hidden camera detector with you and sweep the bridal suite before removing your clothing. (Photo included for proof we used this venue & to show the area of the bridal suite that they said was "not for changing"....)

Fear not, the factory (distillery) in Buda isn't going anywhere. The folks here told me the property and buildings are being taken over and another business will be coming in. It just makes me sad because we love it here. We love everything about it and took for granted that it will always be here. The tasting room and distillery are huge and so tastefully put together. See what I did there? Lol. The grounds are the epitome of Hill Country. Amazing views of wildflowers, brush, and sky all about. Lots and lots of outdoor patio seating, food truck area, large indoor seating, tasting bar, large ordering bars, gift shop, games, and lots more. I'm reviewing as they're leaving because this is another one of those draft reviews that I've been waiting to be finished for a long time. I gotta get better at that lol. Anyway, that matters not because this place still deserves an incredible review. Absolutely amazing drinks and people. It (was) a great way to wind down after a day of outdoor activity in Hill Country. A+++++

Outside they have nice patio seating and yard games to play. I'd definitely return!
