I like that it's called The Vista because it doesn't have much of a view of anything. The place is surrounded by trees. The parking situation is a major clusterfuck so get to the venue early or if you're a musician make arrangements with the wedding manager. There are a few parking spots on the actual hill and at the bottom of the hill, but you will have to walk down this hill in pitch darkness when the party's all over. I had to use my phone's LED so I could see where the hell I was going. Other than that, the venue is pretty, the MC is a little annoying, but he's nice. Good spot for a small wedding.

This place is fantastic! I was a bridesmaid here, and I've never been to a more organized and beautiful venue! I loved the shade trees, ambiance, firepits / torches, gazebos, prep rooms, plenty of parking, margarita machine, and individual rooms for people to explore and hang out. The place seems fairly priced for what you get. They take care of a lot of necessities. The DJ is really good at keeping the pace of the wedding, and very informative for the guests. He was very professional. If you're looking for a venue in Austin, check this place out! One recommendation: buy balloons or a sign for the driveway by Bee Cave road because the venue a little bit hidden for guests!

I Love this venue and the staff!! I visited countless times throughout planning our wedding for 14 months. The place is just beautiful and the staff is excellent!! Never once did they get sick of me! Very very nice people and very accommodating. The owners our husband and wife and they are an awesome team and the take care of the property and brides! Sidonee the wife is very helpful and sweet. I cant thank her enough for doing the centerpieces for our wedding! I knew I could trust her and she saved us hundreds of dollars. We expected 200 guests and had about 170 and our guests cant stop talking about our wedding day! Anthony the venue wedding coordinator was awesome(included in the cost btw)!! He did an awesome job coordinating and djing! I have to admit I was a little nervous with him being familiar with our selected music genre but he did an Awesome job!! Many many complients on the dj. We dance d out the door! The property gave our pictures a beautiful backdrop. So many locations to take photos! Picture perfect!! I used county line for our cater and it was perfect! Please check out my review for them as while. If you go with this venue and DEE DEE at county line you do not need to hire a wedding planner! Everything that I wanted happened for our wedding and im so glad I picked this venue! No worries here! The only thing the venue didnt include was the linens for the tables. Its an awesome value and it's beautiful. Most places didnt include tables, chairs, dj, projector, lights, margarita machine, 2 bar areas and wedding day coordination. Here's all the vendors I used just incase you want an awesome wedding like we had :D County Line, Bouquets of Austin, Knots & Tots Photography, Austin Occasions (bartending), Uptown Valet, Fairfield Inn on Parmer Lane (shuttle service) , Simon Lee Bakery, Marion Little (makeup), and Dorcas Gonzolas (hair) Weddin

My husband and I are from Dallas but wanted to be married in the Hill Country. We turned to Yelp to get ideas for venues prior to making the trip to Austin to tour different sites. The Vista on Seward Hill was the first venue that we visited and before we had even seen the entire site, we were both convinced that we had to be married there. It is GORGEOUS! We paid our deposit, set the date and never even visited another venue. The Seward's take great pride in their property and they are continuously updating the site to make it better and better. The natural beauty of the set up provides a great deal of the décor so you can save money on floral arrangements. Another huge benefit of VOSH is that the DJ is already set up in the price of the venue. I was a little nervous about this because we didn't actually meet the DJ until 2 days before the wedding when we returned to Austin but I can tell you that Anthony is INCREDIBLE! He is friendly, outgoing, extremely professional and he took care of EVERYTHING that we asked for without questioning; he even helped me to plan a special Aggie Departure for my A&M alum husband without letting the secret out. The brides room is even decorated beautifully for the getting-ready pictures and the groom and groomsmen were able to use the pool area and the downstairs game-room (pool table, shuffle board, etc) to get ready in and hang out in prior to the ceremony which was really great and kept the guys from seeing the girls prior to the ceremony. From the second we stepped foot onto the grounds until we drove away at the end of our wedding night, I have been nothing but impressed with the Seward's and the Vista on Seward Hill. Sidonee's son, Sean, was great with communication any time I had a question or a concern. (Check out his company, Austin Event Lighting, for up-lighting (which I didn't think was really that important until I actually saw how it transforms the room) and photo booths, etc. He did such a great job and our guests LOVED him, too!). I cannot say enough about the Seward's and this venue. If you are looking to get married in Austin, I would absolutely recommend that you check this venue out. It really is as good as it gets! PS- a quick note about the parking situation: I was a little nervous about this as the area appears small and we had 155 guests but it was not an issue and there was plenty of room. No complaints from our guests (including family who definitely would have been honest with us when we asked).

Great event venue. My organization has had 2 or 3 events here. You can be outside or inside which is nice in the Texas heat.

I'm…read moreholding a star since we received an email saying we got our deposit back Aug 12th and I still haven't seen the funds in my account- but besides that issue it's definitely got a 5 star rating! We actually got married a month prior in MA, but needed to celebrate the occasion with all our friends who live here with us in TX. This event space was perfect for a party on a budget. The view- I mean, come ON, was just incredible, and the backdrop for everyone's photos! People could not stop talking about how phenomenal it was. The process of getting the place was a bit tricky, as I could not navigate their government website to select the date and missed the cut-off time before having to do the lottery. Luckily, not a lot of people were begging for dates in August as the venue does not have air conditioning- so the heat was a bit brutal (but that's Texas!)- but we got it no problem! I ended up calling and the person I spoke to was very helpful. Speaking of air conditioning- or lack-there-of- we ended up renting some swamp coolers (huge cooling fans that run off of ice- but a LOT of ice!!) to help with the heat. There are ceiling fans and a few industrial fans included- but those don't help too much in August! I had a hard time figuring out what exactly we needed- so I'm going to add a quick "plug" for Preferred Climate Solutions our of Hutto, TX. They worked ZPC before and knew how to set things up. Brett even had an extra swamp cooler from an earlier event he let us use. Moving on- because this place doesn't require use of specific vendors- it made it that much affordable. We hired Slab BBQ to cater and Pixster photo booth for fun. For drinks, we filled out the necessary paperwork (some cheap $10ish permit? I can't quite remember) and we're able to just bring in a few kegs and boxes of wine from PartyBarn. Everything went off without a hitch! Good to note- the place provides a bunch of tables. Two huge round ones, a few smaller round and rectangle ones, and some nice cocktail tables we used on the patio. (The cocktail tables and one rectangular were good enough condition to go without tablecloths- the rest require coverings.) For lighting- it was definitely important to us to get string lights on the patio. I realized last minute that getting a few hundred feet of lights was going to be trickier than I initially thought- since I had to consider ones that connected and could manage the power of 300 ft of lights. I used Americanpartylights.com- it worked out great! They included zip ties which is important since it's against the park rules to use tape (holds better anyways.) I found a great diagram of ZPC patio for the light arrangements and measurements (photo included.) It was a perfect celebration and I HIGHLY recommend this space for any event! It has such a cool vibe even without decorations, your set up can be minimal and still look amazing. Plus... that VIEW!

I'd be worried about having it in the winter of summer because of the set up but what really forces us to go another direction is there is a lot of restrictions with vendors. You are presented with a list of vendors you must use. The asterisks indicate which vendors are not up for discussion. The ones that are not with an asterisk are still required but if you stray from that list she must personally interview that vendor and each person must have a million dollar insurance policy. As a person who has no family in town and planning everything by ourselves we just didn't have the time to devote to some of those rules. We didn't really get to talk about much else as we spent so long talking about the rules and importance of the liability insurance that there wasn't time to talk about much else. The space was pretty, It was set us an open air venue that can be closed off with glass. Basically a blank canvas because it would be all glass. Off ot the side there is a big tree with a wooden dance floor that had christmas twinkly lights wrapped around the tree. Seemed it would be lovely. Especially for a couple that plans to wed and have reception there... equipped with rooms for the groomsmen (a ground floor location near the pool with tv and videogames and bridesmaids (which was upstairs.. dangerous for heels but very cute modern space) For our needs, just needing a reception space it was just not for us. Also, I mentioned that I knew a previous bride that wed there..and as she recalled her she said, "oh the plus size bride"... OMG I would die if anyone only remembered me as the PLUS SIZE BRIDE. I just wanted to be remembered as a beautiful bride.. size need not be noted.... thank you. For other brides out there.. it is a very beautiful space.. prices are reasonable based on your total number of guests! dont rule it out till you see it. Just because it wasn't for me.. doesn't meant it wont be for you!

The best item we got was the steak tartare- so if you are there, try it out. The other items were under seasoned severely. Because the waiter was so not interested, I had to go grab salt myself. Very handsome man, if only he would smile. It was a Wednesday night so perhaps they were under staffed that night & really, you just never know the day someone's had. Way too citrusy oddly dressing on the Caesar. The shrimp were cooked well but the dressing was so disappointing & certainly not Caesar. (The food has never been exceptional - oh, how I wish it was good. I love seafood & it's a lovely location that I really, really want to fall in love with.) We are at the Omni about 4-5 times a year - it's beautiful - highly recommend the overall experience. For food however, do yourself a favor and head to Bob's for great food or Crenshaw's for more casual options (great fish & ships, salads with grilled shrimp & sandwiches). We both walked out saying, this is the last time because there are just so many other options nearby.
