Last night we finally stopped into the Brewhouse. They have numerous daily specials but Wednesday's are $0.49 cent wings and $9.99 Tankards of draft beer. We tried several different varieties of wings : Traditional Hot & Honey Traditional Spicy Dill Traditional Caesar Parmesan Boneless Double Dill Dry Seasoned Boneless Johnny Cash At $0.49 cents a wing you can't complain! Such a steal. Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with our sauces/dry rubs as we didn't get any dill flavor from either of our two dill choices. The Caesar Parmesan had fresh real grated Parmesan and that was a nice touch. The Johnny Cash was a sort of BBQ sauce . Definitely vinegar based and reminded me of Tabasco. I enjoyed my Hot & Honey. The beer is a great deal and my CN Caesar was made with dill pickle vodka and pickle juice. It went down too easily We are going to go back next week and try a couple other flavors of wings. I will definitely report back with how that visit goes. The rooftop patio is such a vibe and it's a great little environment up there. Our party of 7 went to the Canadian Brewhouse for Music trivia night. We were seated right away (we had reservations) and our server took our drink orders promptly. Wings were $0.69 so many of us ordered them (one boneless, one with bones and one cauliflower). They were all pretty good. Other dishes ordered were mac and cheese, fish and chips and perogies. Everyone enjoyed their meals. My only gripe really was the lack of vegetarian options. Even all the salads had meat in them, so the vegetarians had very few options. The menu did indicate you could substitute impossible patties for any burgers but most of them really didn't seem like that would be a good substitution (buffalo chicken burger for example). Trivia was fun (with the exception of the pop funk round which was too difficult and hard to hear). I'd go back again. read more

It is one of Durham region's best sports bars. They have great food, nice, classic ambiance. If you want to visit, definitely check out their outdoor sitting and live music. The service was good. Everyone is super friendly and hardworking. read more

We came here in October when the weather popped at 30degrees - it is known for a rooftop patio so might as well enjoy the weather. The venue is massive and the rooftop is beautiful with comfy seats and umbrellas everywhere offering shade. The server was attentive and friendly but the food service was so slow. We waiting over an hour for a burger and wrap. All the couples beside us had the same issue with the food taking forever. One couple waited an hour for nachos?!?! I can't blame the servers because it must have been management not having enough kitchen staff to make the food. My wrap said the wrap was good and she liked the salad dressing. My burger was okay but the fries were coated and mass produced. Everyone should be serving fresh cut fries nowadays. Ya the food service was terrible - and could have been a one off issue but the food quality was average so probably won't be going back. read more

They do not make their own soups so that says something right there!!! the pizza sauce was spicy and the cheese just sat onthe top. no stretch to the cheese at all. it looked tasty but basically tasted like a McCains deep and delicious for triple the price. read more

We went as a group for lunch. It took about an hour for food to arrive. I ordered the all dressed chicken sandwich. The Size was generous, the chicken tender and not dry. Unfortunately it was far too salty and didn't have much of an all dressed flavor. read more

Planned to be there a long time, so we kept ordering more drinks and more food which arrived quickly enough, but the dishes were piling up for the 2hrs I was there. Food and service are really good but I just want to bring up the washrooms. The soap dispenser didn't work. Had to go to the accessible one to wash my hands. I needed to wash my hands a second time and the accessible washroom was in use do I tried another washroom, it took a while for the soap to work but it barely dispensed any soap. Also, I had to put my hand directly in front of the sensor and wave it a few times for it to work. Super frustrating. read more

I don't understand the bad reviews for this bar! This is a sport bar with great beer and food! We were seated right away, staff were accommodating and helpful. We got ipa beer on tap which was served on chilled glass and I loved it! I also got sweet potato fries and beef dip with onion ring and I am so happy with it. So much food! read more

I came in with my entire family(11 people) to the Toronto location by the airport. I have worked in the food/ service industry for many years and I have never seen service this bad. I waited for 40 minutes for my wings after asking 3 times and then I order a deluxe pizza with olives and a cheese pizza with only olives shows up and my sisters both had huge waits on their food and they forgot their appetizers. Drinks were not flowing. And I would never leave a bad review normally as I know people screw up but there was tons of employees and we spent tons of money and somehow got the worst service in the building. Then at the end we waited for the bill for another half hour and just took what food wasn't shitty Togo. Strongly recommend you hire a shift manager and get the incapable employees you have some training. 0/10 SMFH ‍ read more

Went to the Canadian Brewhouse with some friends after a golf day. We went a week after they opened and unfortunately they were sold out of wings, garlic fingers, chicken fingers and some beers. I'm sure after they figure out their suppliers and amount of business they will get it all together. The upstairs patio is a real treat and well designed with lots of TVs and misters to keep you cool. We had the Tuna Poke Rice Bowl which had ahi tuna with soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, cilantro, crushed pepper flakes, and sesame seeds. Served over Jasmine rice with diced avocado, cucumbers, shredded carrot, and green onion, then drizzled with spicy mayo. It was very tasty and a good portion. We shared the tri stacked nachos with beef. A pile of tri-coloured tortilla chips served with a pound of blended cheeses, green peppers, tomatoes, diced onions, black olives, green onion, and fresh jalapeños. The nachos were very good. They have some daily food and drink specials. I will be back to try some more food soon. read more

The upstairs patio is cool, nice atmosphere! The food is amazing with amazing portions. We encountered an issue with our bill though which was such a huge inconvenience to us hence my 2 star rating. They use these ipads and my hubby tapped his debit card, it said it was successful but a minute later the server came back and said it didn't go through so we did it again. But before we left we checked our account and both transactions went through, so our $200 bill turned into $400. We showed the sever and she showed us her ipad where it displayed only one transaction. We were told to monitor our account for a credit and if it didn't return to our account they would issue a credit. The server said it "happens all the time". Well no credit came so we called the manager a few days later who told us we needed to come back as he needed our physical card in order to issue a refund. Now we need to drive back to North Oshawa from Mississauga. What a pain. We never complained, we just wanted to settle the situation. The most disappointing part is that they didn't comp us anything. Not even a "since you had to come all the way back why don't you have a drink or app on us". I was beyond shocked that there wasn't even an apology. So if you ever go there do NOT pay outside. You are better off going inside where the wifi isn't as spotty. read more

First time here sitting inside. We love their rooftop patio...even though they play the music too loud. We try to find a quieter corner. Have been here for brunch & loved their chicken'n'waffles. This time was the weekend with our son. Yes it as loud but I expected it so ok. We had to wait for a table so sat at the bar for a bit. Our server Jade was a very lovely, personable young lady. I loved the fact that they serve Tatertots as a side...yum, their Kactus Chips were crispy and great. They serve a nice rose wine that I enjoyed, most places these days do not serve sweeter wines. Looking forward to going back to the rooftop patio when it gets warmer. Hoping it will be quieter so we can hear each other talk....during the week for brunch may be best. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it was busyyyyy. Great vibes, large space, lots of tvs, really great option if you're looking for a sports bar. Fridays they have their prime rib special. Unfortunately it was tough and isn't tender like what a prime rib is supposed to be. Sides were good though and price is great value but don't expect 'steak' quality meat here. Kids menu was great and prices were good. We enjoyed the chicken tender and fries. Cocktails were ok but will stick to beer next time. I think they try to be too much and do too much. Came here for a friend's birthday, arriving around 5:30pm on a Saturday (we had our 7 yr old with us and wanted enough time to dine etc before the "no minor after 8pm" policy). There was a 45min - 1 hour wait for a table on their roof top patio so we "settled" for indoor dining. Though the entrance was a little "snug" with patrons waiting for the elevator to the patio as well trying to get a table with the hostess etc, once inside big area with very high ceilings and loads of TVs of different sizes all around. Our party of 5 sat at a booth table with plexiglass separating us from the next tables etc. We felt safe and "separated" from other patrons during our time there. The manager came around to check on us in total 3 times to ensure everything was good, our server was attentive and evening serving staff (bringing our food) were professional and courteous. We were surprised that serving staff was unsure of how one of our steaks were cooked, but luckily that was resolved when a second serving staff was able to advise how the second steak was prepared...the only constructive feedback would be more training/informing staff on food knowledge from the above experience as well our server unsure of one of the sauce that was on the plate etc. We were able to order a free appetizer offered with their app as well were happy with our food. We were happy to see that there was a good showing of significant live sporting events on multiple screens (i.e US Open final, Jays vs. Orioles etc). We were happy with our drinks, food and the service we received. Thought slightly out of our way (driving from Pickering), we would definitely consider returning in the future and hopefully have the opportunity to check out the roof top patio. read more

Came here after work on a Tuesday as I was not in the mood for cooking. Saw that they were promoting "Taco Tuesday" for a discounted price, so my brother and I decided to take advantage of the deal and ordered a bunch for dinner. The service was slow, and our waitress barely paid attention to us. About 35-40 mins into waiting for our food, our server delivered my brother's tacos, then turned to me to advised that fish tacos were sold out. I did not want to ruin my first time experience in CBH so I picked another item on the menu and asked them to rush the order as I've already been waiting for a while. The waitress assured me that my order was placed on the priority list. My brother finished his meal long before my order arrived. I wanted to cancel my order but it was impossible to flag our waitress down. It was another 30 mins before I got my meal. When the bill came, we noticed that the fish tacos were charged, so we politely asked our server to adjust the bill. The server came back with our new bill, but the fish tacos were still there! We pointed it out to her that the items did not get removed, she apologized, came back with a new bill - and yet again, the fish tacos were still on the bill! It took her the fourth try to get the bill right. The food is mediocre. This place needs to invest more time into training their staff. read more

Newly opened spot. First visit we didn't get a patio table. They didn't have a few things we ordered and either modified or suggested another item. One blip was that they over charged us on some drinks because they had to modify due to missing ingredients but didn't check with us first. The manager rectified the situation and offered us a round of drinks and appetizers for our next visit, which was fine. A new restaurant that's still working out the kinks. The 2nd visit we got a patio table which was great, very nice patio spot with a nice view. Food is good and menu has great variety. Would definitely come back. read more

First time there we had to ask for menus. First of all, very expensive for what you get. I asked for no cheese twice on my Hooser Club and I got cheese. My husband's Philly Cheese was described as shaved roast beef with sauted onions. He got 2 slices of roast beef that you can tell that were heated in the microwave as it was rubbery and he got raw onions NOT even close to sautéed. I asked for a diet pepsi and got a regular Pepsi. They need to put rice in their salt shakers as the humidity made the salt clump together and barely came out of the shakers. Stein beers were suppose to be $4.99 until 7pm and we were charged $5.99 and it was 6:15pm. The music was so loud we could barely hear each other talking. The music was more for a very young crowd as we didn't enjoy it and we never heard of the music. We are in our 50's. Most of the women's washrooms were out of order (the sinks were). They have individual washrooms. First and last time going there. read more

The beer one of us asked for was not available there (Popular beer, so - Strike 1); Espresso martini was not there either (Oops, - Strike 2). I settled for a strawberry mojito, which was ok, just ok. I tried the peach mojito, which had lemons and limes as well as a solid slice of peach. It tasted like a lemon/lime drink without sugar. Couldn't drink it. The server was friendly and social, and could have come around more often. We told her we were there for drinks. She let me sit there with an empty glass for too long. While paying, I let our server know about the disappointing mojito, but, instead of removing it from the bill, she just said, "sorry about the drink"... what? (Strike 3) I just left knowing, I've tried it there and won't be returning. After taxes, 2 pops, & 5 drinks cost approximately $67, plus tip. read more

Went last evening hoping to sit on the patio. The young hostess advised that we couldn't use the patio as it had rained earlier and the cushions were wet. Was told to follow her and she directed us to a table. We sat there for approximately 10 minutes while servers walked by without acknowledging us, smiling or "someone will be with you shortly ". Only have been there once, hence the 'maybe' return visit. I will say that the service was great. Out server was attentive and friendly. However, our food was just Ok. My burger was of the frozen variety and the bun was not that fresh. I did love the bar and all of the sports related stuff around. Next time I would like to check out the rooftop patio. read more

Wow, what a great place. Nothing like this in Durham region. Two stories of sports bar and an outdoor patio on the second floor. Food is good, lots of selections for beers on tap, and the staff are amazing. The best server is Sloan; friendly, personable, smart, knowledgeable, and helpful. Good advice on selections and making reservations. She helped me make a resy and when my buddy came in from out of town, she made it a point to come by and say hi. The atmosphere of this place was amazing ! If you love sports a decent place to watch a game. How ever one server, typed our orders in after we had explained what we wanted 3 times each..... when the food came half of the orders were wrong. Not a problem as I understand the stress and loud environment but when she avoided talking to us for 25 minutes that is when we started getting frustrated. The manger also did not even come speak to us which was very rude and for the meal that we had to wait for and extra 25 minutes was not even compensated, no to mention getting 1 water and 1 beer was 20 minute. It did not help as she was crusty when dealing with us when she found out that we were pissed off......maybe some gum or tic tacs would help. read more

Didn't even get to try the food! Called CBH to do a pick up order, they also do Skip, but tonight I felt like picking up. Phone rang and rang then hung up but I persevered and called back as I was looking forward to trying their food. This time I got through and proceeded to the take out extension so they do take out, this is important later. Guy answers and I ask to do an order, asks me to hold on and I can hear him talking to another server asking if take out orders go through the bar then voices go muffled. He comes back to the phone and says that the kitchen is backed up so they're not doing take out tonight. I'm like que and start laughing and say goodbye. Seriously, I'm trying to buy local from a restaurant that advertises take out but don't do take out because the kitchen backed up? Does not give me a lot of confidence that they're organized but appreciate that he was honest enough not to let me order and wait hours for take out. Checked this place out for a Sunday lunch. There were some good things but some bad things. Granted, it's only been open for 3 weeks, so the service and menu is a little shaky at times. We were seated promptly and our water came quickly. I ordered a rhubarb gin soda cocktail but was brought the wrong drink. The server quickly fixed that for me, which I appreciate. I ordered the tuna poke bowl, my son the pirogies and my husband had a fried chicken sandwich. We also ordered the Tex-Mex fries and based on the menu description, I thought it was like tater tots( which I secretly love) Alas- they were not, just regular frozen crinkle fries that were mushy, steamed soggy by the pile up of a presentation and lukewarm. There wasn't much seasoning or flavour, so we each had a bite and realized it wasn't worth the calories. The tuna poke menu description said it came with red chile flakes, which I asked to be on the side to regulate the spice level. When the bowl was brought out, the server said there were no chile flakes in the recipe, so that's why they weren't on the side. Again- the menu description and what you get is a little incoherent, so beware. I accidentally spilled my drink and they were quick to help me clean it up. The perogies were good, the chicken sandwich was good and the poke bowl was fine but not as good as State and Main, which I think the place is trying to emulate but is failing. The decor is what my son called stereotypical Canadian with knock off indigenous art and an overuse of kegs. The music is loud, so be prepared to shout at your fellow guests to carry on a conversation. In terms of Covid protocol, the host took our name and to reduce contact, the menu is on a QR code. Not sure what they'd do if someone came in without a phone. Most staff were wearing masks but one bartender, a young man with long hair pulled back had his mask below his chin, exposing his nose and mouth for most of the time we were there - not Covid safe, especially since he was making the majority of drinks heading to tables. I think they felt it was a gong show because we had at least 6 different servers including a young man who might have been management check on us. At the end, they knocked off my drink, and 20% of the poke bowl because when asked if I liked it, I said, it was ok but lacked depth of flavour and maybe some sesame oil would help the tuna pop in flavour. They were very helpful but again, it's a new staff and they are working out the kinks. If you like State and Main, their menu and vibe, it might be worth the hike to Whitby because this place came up short. Maybe in a few months it will have itself together. read more

VERY POOR SEATING MANAGEMENT...EXPECT TO WAIT A LONG TIME BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO MANAGE PATRON SEATING. We were told a 45 minute wait for the patio, after 50 minutes we inquired how much longer, were told they could not tell us because there were "campers" , assume that's people enjoying the patio long after their meal is done. After 60 minute we were seated on the patio in lounge style couch with a fire table, very uncomfortable for people with back issues to try to eat at. I asked for a proper table with proper chairs instead, they could not accommodate us...there were 2 people seated at an 8 person table, we were a party of 5. THE PATIO BAR AREA WHICH HAD AMPLE SEATING WAS EMPTY. Service is slow...very young staff that look the other way when you try to get their attention. Second time there and same experience..thought we would give it another chance but we were very disappointed. Food is good, but expensive for what it is...nothing extraordinary.
