I've loved the Cupcakery since it opened in the CWE and boy was I elated when the Edwardsville location opened. I love this place. A cupcake makes the perfect little gift for a friend or the perfect little treat to share. The Italian Cream and Pumpkin cupcakes are my absolute favorite, and I keep meaning to try the coffee cake one. It's hard to buy a cupcake though when the REAL hidden treasure of the Cupcakery is the absolutely delicious oatmeal cream pie. I love these things. Two homemade (and awesome) chocolate chip oatmeal cookies filled with sweet buttercream frosting. They are my favorite. This is a great place to meet with a friend, grab a cup of coffee and indulge. Hooray for Cupcakery! So glad to have you in town. We loved visiting the CWE location, but, this is the best. The kids and I stop here quite a bit and I have also ordered large amounts of cupcakes for birthday parties - talk about easy! We have our favorite regular cupcakes - the tuxedo (oreo on top, yum) and the sprinkles (what is it about sprinkles that makes kids crazy?), but I truly appreciate their specials. I am not exactly sure why everyone gets so excited about this place. I'll admit, there is a good variety of cupcakes to choose from, but regardless of which I get my teeth end of up hating me for ingesting such sweetness. Also, there is not much to be said for the location. They would be better off finding a storefront on Main Street than hidden in some stripmall. read more

My family and I go to The Cup regularly. We recently bought cupcakes from there to serve at our son's first birthday. The BEST cupcakes we've ever had! I am a peanut butter chocoholic and my name is Natasha. This was one stop on my small town foodie trip and it was wonderful. I checked the website to see the menu and offerings. Low and behold baby Jesus sent his blessing of peanut butter chocolate goodness. Buttercream was balanced. Not too sweet and not overly buttery. Nice and light. Cake was good. I really wanted to try the Italian cream but there weren't any when I arrived. Hoping to stop through next time I'm in the area to sample that one. I love cupcakes and had them for my wedding. In a bit of post-wedding ingenuity, I figured it was only right that my husband and I get cupcakes once a month on the day we got married. I was a day late and in IL when I figured I had to find someplace quick to keep up the tradition. So I looked for a store close to my inlaws that would have beautiful, delicious cupcakes like I had on my wedding day. Thanks to the Yelp App, I found The Cup. I could tell this place would be clean, trendy, comfy, and hopefully have delicious treats. I was happily satisfied with our visit. I got a double chocolate cupcake and my hubs got the black forest cupcake with the cherry topping. Our cupcakes were delicious and moist with tasty butter cream frosting. A stop for red velvet cupcakes at The Cup is always on my list to do when I am in town. Great cupcakes, horrible customer service. This place is surrounded by restaurants but closes at 6:30, so you can almost never go there after a nearby meal. We got there with 10 minutes to spare and they couldn't have been less welcoming. They asked us how many cupcakes we thought we would be buying so they could prepare a to go box for us. I work in an office on 60 people and every Thursday I end up walking out of work with orders from about 10-20 people everyday so i can bring them cupcakes in on Friday morning. Get that fork out because these are like a fancy and piled up. They offer a discount for buying a dozen as opposed to buying just one (don't worry, your family will help you eat these yummy treats up).
